If you look at the small sprocket at 10.38 in your video - you will see the links are NOT properly connected. I have made a chain myself this way - and I have noticed that Inventor is dividing up the straight lines between the gears perfectly - but when it comes to the arcs round the gears - it is dividing up the arcs - by the curved distance - as opposed to the chord distance - which is what is needed for a chain. Do you know if Inventor has a solution to this?
the start point should be exactly halfway between the 2 pivots, the 2 sides, and the top and bottom. all of the planes that you need are exactly halfway between 2 points/planes, and you can create these planes using offset from plane.
Thank you for posting this! I've been trying to figure out how to do this for the longest time. Great video!

This just an excellent tutorial. Keep up the good work...!!!
Great tutorial. I'm curious if you would have an idea how to do the same as if you were to make the same assembly using a log chain..

How would you rotate the chain with the sprockets?
thanks, that was very helpful
if it hadn't been for you, I would probably have gone insane
How can you make it to where you spin one sprocket and the entire system spins, or is there a way to do that?
Hello!
Do you know how to make a flexible band like an endless saw? In that the band changes direction.
Thank you!
how would I do this with the conveyor belt base link? It doesn't have all of the planes and points that the chain does.
Where can I find the individual Chain strand? I don't see it under Power Transmission.
See updated description for link.
