Yeah, but this is a Fantasy story. It's got a historical setting, yes, but as soon as fairies and superpowers are in the mix, I don't think it's worth making a fuss about. In a show that claims to be historically accurate howewer, like that weird Netflix Cleopatra show, it's completely different.
Dido Belle was a black noblewoman in the 1700s, hell Queen Victoria had a Yoruba Princess for a Goddaughter in the 1800s, Queen Mary-Louise Coidavid- wife of the King Henry Christophe of Haiti, lived in London during the 1820s, even Katherine of Aragon had a black Lady-in-Waiting in the 1500s, but of course, a black woman is the most unbelievable thing in the trailer- not the fairies, not renegade Nell having super powers....yeah
She looks so one dimensional and stereotypical, it’s insulting. If she’s already all powerful, then she cannot possibly have a character arc, then why should I be invested in her story?Hollywood has no idea how to write women.

This trailer shows a lot of inclusivity, feminine men and super powerfull boss women, NO THANK YOU!! I almost though this was a joke trailer on the beginning but, NOT ANOTHER OF THIS!! SICK AND TIRED!!
It doesn't look a bad offering in terms of action. But see this is what I don't get about you guys. You spend half another trailer, and no doubt most of the film, telling us how SHE is FORMIDABLE, and unusual and oh so amazing, and yet it otherwise tells us nothing. Roll back to the glory days of no preaching and you had kickass women like Ellen Ripley taking down Xenomorphs without once needing to finger wag to the audience that she was somehow different/better for being female. But Disney just cannot help itself overegging every socially topical pudding. And I'm female before I get hit by what a 'moaning incel' I must be. You're still getting the 'simple entertainment' formula largely wrong imo.
This is proof that People hates female lead actress kicking ass and taking names nobody complains when jennifer lawrence didn't in hunger games but when does it disney People complain I don't get it at all
If she’s written as a great, rounded character with a proper character arc and flaws, great. But these days all women are apparently perfect, capable of taking down multiple men three times their size and strength by themselves with one punch, and never showing any feminine qualities, reflectiveness or self-awareness. Woke can’t write.
I‘m a woman and I hate this character! If she’s perfect and knows everything from the very beginning how am I supposed to empathize with her character? I’m not perfect just because I’m a woman. I had to work insanely hard to achieve my goals and acquire my skills. Secondly, if she’s only strong because she’s a fighter and act exactly like a man, then she’s only strong because she’s like a man. Thus a woman is only strong and has value if she’s a man basically. That’s misogyny.

All the derry girls are getting great roles.
Orla likes melting stuffs 😂
I must be honest, this doesn't look like a disney show
more like netflix
It's BBC! They love historical fantasy and magic
Orla’s back! I missed her face 😂👏🏽
Wait is that Orla from the Derry Girls?🤩🤩🤩🤩
Just finished it. It's an absolute fun series to watch!
Is that her out of "Derry Girls"?
Yes
Orla
This looks like fun! I was hoping for more shows in the historical fiction-adventure genre and this one fits the bill. I'm there!
Jennie, it is a lovely show . It is faithful to the source material.
When you think it can’t get worse… you can really on Disney 😂

One more over power female lead series, because that's what the viewers are asking for
