- Here, you can learn how to create photorealistic gems, brilliants / jewelry in Unreal Engine 5.
Creating believable brilliants and other gem stones can be quite a challenge and there is not much information on the internet how to achieve good looking results - also in a real-time engine.
This tutorial will show you how to get close-to-photorealistic results for your product renders or in-game jewelry!
The video is presented to you by Dennis Welling, professional Environment / Foliage Artist in AAA games industry.
Feel free to check out my Artstation! I also sell products there if you are interested. :)

I asked Dennis some tips about how he made this Gemstone, and he went and made a special tutorial in unreal, Thanks Dennis! this is super helpful and really nice of you :) I really appreciate it
I am super happy it was helpful. You're welcome!
hello... you've done an amazing work
it would be great if you show us how did you make the whole... can you do that please ??
Hey! Do you mean showing how I made the whole necklace from start to end? I can prepare that, but it would take a bit longer to replicate this. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@denniswelling7782 yupp : )
okay... if you do that.. it'd help me alot
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your workflow with this nice Jewelry
I Hope if you repeat the same work with 5.4 with new Depth of new Reflection Method with Lumen system GI and reflection
And USE all new features in Reflection system, it's Awesome
Also
Activate the Ray light mode in reflection section to Hit Lighting for Reflection option
And activate 2 more things inside Master Material:
- High Quality reflection tic Mark it in the left menu under light Mode
- Activate index of refraction and make glass refraction and also in 5.4 will fine extra options about it in reflection section PPV
You will get So Amazing result more than this result
Also
Use Artificial light without sun | no problem for sure with Sky and HDRI reflection, it's amazing
But with new method of light and reflection you will get amazing results
Thanks
I like this tutorial
Thanks for the comment and tips to push this further. I am sure I will create an updated version at some point. 😊

Hey! Thanks for commenting! The gold Shader is fairly simple but I can make a quick tutorial about that as well. I will get to it next week. Thanks
@@denniswelling7782 oh man! thank you for replying! Would be great to see how you did it! ❤
@@denniswelling7782 if you could cover oxidized silver (curvature?) as well, would be life saving lol
@@vladterra7353are you interested in learning how to create such a material in Substance Designer or are you interested in how to create it in Substance Painter?
@@denniswelling7782 hmmm. I'm interested how to get such material into my Unreal engine render, so I could use it there for motion graphics reels.. I've managed to get perfect gold\oxide silver in octane c4d, but in unreal couldn't get even close result..
