I honestly feel bad for this boy... his face was put out there with photos and caught on trial... I hope for his sake, that HIS life has moved on and isn’t ruined by HER mistakes!!
They cannot prove she delivered a living baby. If she gets found guilty of the death of an infant then the jury failed. There’s zero evidence of a live birth. Her admitting to trying to cremate was only agreed with out of bullying, manipulating and exhaustion by the two detectives who tried to pretend to be her friends. They played her well, if the parents knew what was going on they would have made sure that she had an attorney present, she was young and naive. I’m not defending her burying the poor baby in the back yard, but I do blame the parents for giving her the insecurities of not trusting them enough to tell them she was pregnant. Things would have turned out so much differently with what ifs all the way around. What a shame,
She knew she was pregnant and didn’t take the necessarily steps to ensure a healthy baby. Death of an infant is the result.

Matthew S. Wall there are no laws stating that you must see a dr while pregnant. Also no laws against home births. She did not break any laws in that regard.

How can the parents NOT notice that stomach especially the mother who got an email saying she was pregnant! This is what happens when parents are in denial and expect a perfect kid!
I became pregnant at 19 and because my mother hated my boyfriend at the time, I was terrified of telling my mother. I am ashamed to admit I got an abortion and I NEVER told my mom. Skylar's fear of telling her parents seems to be because of the expectations her parents laid on her especially the mom. Mom seemed to be inappropriately involved in Skylars looks. Hence the amount of denial mom had. It's so obvious she was pregnant even this boy admitted she looked pregnant.

I disagree. This is a girl who was trained to keep up appearances. The prosecutors made that known on the News. We really don’t know how she was feeling.
Personally, I am pro-life, and I’m completely disgusted by the selfish way she handled herself after discovering she was pregnant. That said, I don’t know her, or why she would react the way she did. I was extremely harsh on her ( in RUclips comments) until I watched the second interrogation today. It made me sick to see how easily she was coerced. I don’t think she knows if the baby was stillborn or if she accidentally caused the death during the delivery. If the baby wasn’t stillborn; I don’t believe she intentionally murdered her baby.
I do believe that the lack of prenatal care, taking birth control, and not going to the hospital when she went into labor probably contributed to the death of her baby. However, not seeking medical attention is not against the law. Perhaps more evidence will come out that proves she intentionally murdered her baby but, as of now, I don’t see that happening. We have to look at the law when seeking justice and leave our personal feelings at the door.
This case is devastating. An innocent baby is deceased. But this girl shouldn’t lose her freedom without proof she murdered her baby.

@Lynn Hexler-Haan I agree with @United we stand she could be feeling so horrible about what she did, about everything that happened that weekend that her outward appearance has nothing to do with that.
I suffer from depression and anxiety. I do take medication for it and I can still have really bad days but when I would be in school or at work nobody and I mean nobody would have any indication that I was suffering soooo much on the inside because I would never show it!

Regardless of whether she's guilty or not, I feel awful for the boy. He was such a sweetheart and she lied to him and clearly manipulated him when all he wanted to do was be the best boyfriend he could. Then he finds out his girlfriend was pregnant with someone else's child and she (allegedly) killed it or it was (allegedly) born dead. By the way he was so worried about her going to college and no longer liking him, it's clear he's a sensitive guy (nothing wrong with that, just an observation) and he was already insecure about their relationship. I can't imagine how devastated he must have been and may still be.
I love this Judge. He is doing his job, the best I have every seen. He is never showing bias.

2 things I'm taking from this part of testimony. Aside from the obvious lessons.
1. Continue to teach my son to be a man and not rely on a partner to validate/give self worth in the relationship.
2. Teach my son if someone you know is being questioned by detectives for an alleged crime they committed, get far away from that person! Ask questions later.
The pictures of her from Brandon’s phone look like a different person. The trial has really taken a toll on her.

Everyone can have there option on what they hear but to say things that are hurtful and mean, unless you are in someone’s situation no one has the right to say what she was feeling or thinking. No one has the right to judge anyone else’s situation on how they are feeling or dealing with a terrible situation as this one. Mental illness is a horrific disease. God shall judge. As he shall be the only judge.

She couldn't have this baby because it wasn't the love of her lives child, couldn't have this baby because she had college, she couldn't have this baby because mom said she have to take care of it and work if she got pregnant. So convenient that a baby she couldn't have was still born. She didn't tell no one, she didn't prepare for a baby, she didn't call 911, she didn't have parents help. This baby never had a chance to have a life.

So she was with Trey in AUGUST, and Brandon states that she hadn't cheated on him (on Brandon) so the baby was obviously conceived in AUGUST but she didn't find out about it till APRIL. That made her 8 months pregnant and then FULL TERM in May when the baby was born. The measurements of the bones confirms it was a full term baby so all this malarkey about a 32cm fundal measurement is all really 'guesswork'.

That younger defense attorney is terrific and that is an almost impossible feat in criminal law so I'm just fascinated watching him
What is the point of going over all these texts? They were too young kids who thought that there one month relationship was the most important thing in the world. Clearly they were immature. She was scared to tell him probably thought he would break up with her. I don’t understand the point of going over all these text.

At 2:38 Detective Faine was -- what, charged with conduct unbecoming of an officer, it was glossed over, so what, that's sort of interesting and jury needs to assess his credibility as per the judge.. Faine does seem defensive and testy. He repeats every question then gets defensive. What's up with that? Then Brandon Saylor is photographed even tho he requested not to be.

Everyone is entitled to a defense, thats the way our system works. Let us not forget, the prosecution has endless resources at its disposal. A defendant, unless very rich, starts off at a great disadvantage. Every defendant in our country is entitled to representation no matter how heinous the crime. We don't have to like the defendant but understand under our justice system (one of the best in the world) everyone is entitled to a fair trial.

If they cannot prove the baby was alive, this case could take another turn if the prosecution brings up the taking of laxatives and birth control, both harmful to the baby, when she was clearly pregnant. If a heroin addicted pregnant woman can get charged with child neglect and endangerment for drug use due to the baby, what makes Skylar so special to avoid the very same charges for using laxatives and birth control when she knew she was pregnant and knew what it would do? If she is not charged with murder, multiple other charges can be brought to the table for various other things. Nail her in one way or another.
Well no need to read every single text message to figure out that he had no clue she was pregnant. She had a little tummy but so does a lot of girls; I could not tell she was 9 months pregnant. Tax payers are paying for this drawn out reading of a love novel..

The hopeless romantic in me wishes they would have stayed together despite it all. They've clearly got sweet young love going on. He seems to be a really sweet guy. Haven't watched it all yet but I bet he doesn't wanna be there testifying against her. If they lasted a little while after the discovery of the baby I wonder what ultimately made them break up? 22:20

I have my doubts about a bathroom delivery now. She may have delivered the after-birth in the bathroom but I think the baby was born in the bedroom. I also don't believe she didn't cut the cord. If she didn't tie off the cord the baby would bleed out. That's a lot of blood. It was her blood in the carpet, baby bled in the towels. She did make a comment the the towels were black. The blood would go through the towels into the carpet. That's why moving the bed was necessary. She may have left the baby in the bedroom, wrapped in a towel (to muffle any cries) and when she got back to it, it was dead. The women on the jury are going to have a hard time believing much of what Skylar says about the birth and may have to educate their male partners in the jury.
There was no blood from the baby found. There was no blood other than Skylars. It’s also not true that a baby will “bleed out” if the cord is not cut. Please research “delayed cord clamping”. Not clamping or cutting the cord actually INCREASES the blood volume of the baby. Both WHO and ACOC recommend delayed cord clamping or cutting. It is beneficial to the health of both the mother and the newborn.
What if she used the lighter to burn the cord

But wouldn't find time to find an adoption home or go to the hospital? If she's not guilty of murder, she's guilty of child endangerment and negligence. If a pregnant woman can get charged with negligence for taking drugs while pregnant, what makes her so special? After all, she was using laxatives and birth control while pregnant, both of which is harmful to the baby when consumed. But that isn't a crime to you? Oh wait. You won't answer. Other than that I agree for the most part. Endangerment, sure, neglect, yes. Even though refusing medical care isn’t a crime, and neither is giving birth at home. The doctors have testified that birth control wouldn’t harm a full term baby in anyway, and also wouldn’t terminate a pregnancy at any point, complicate it in very very early pregnancy sure (causing damage to the fetus) but it wouldn’t kill a fetus. And won’t harm a full term baby. My doctor told me to use ducalax while I was pregnant with both my children, so I would say using it as directed wouldn’t harm a fetus either. She did use it (has it been stated she used it while pregnant? Bc I’m only seeing proof that she took it after delivery) in an unhealthy way, so maybe there would be harm there, but I’m unsure. There was wrong doing and she’s not totally innocent, but there is too much reasonable doubt for a murder charge. Her texting those things shows she was not in a healthy mental state at all, but it doesn’t prove a crime.
Mary's Mother not guilty of all charges but one. Thank god we have a fair and just system!
