Wow! Absolutely LOVE this stand. I camp in a crua hybrid and a gathered end. The crua is my fave due to the flat lay. Will this stand be suitable for the crua hybrid at all? Thanks 😊
That’s exciting! I will 100% be purchasing this stand! Very impressed with the ease and portability of it! Congratulations and hopefully a very successful kickstarter program for you! I’ll share and advertise it as much as I can on socials and through my rock climbing and hiking cohorts here in Brisbane!
Are the sizes for adults mainly based on the ridge pole? If so, can the ridge pole be extended and collapsed so that it forms all those sizes? Does that also mean all the adult stands are the same size and height?
Question: Possible to buy one pair of legs and multiple ridge pole (lengths) for versatility? i.e./example: 1 pair of legs, a chair-width ridge pole, a full-length hammock ridge pole for camping? (or) are these only completely separate products? i.e. I must buy another pair of legs for a chair setup. Not clear yet on this question. I ask because there are three of us in the family (which would mean six pair of legs... yikes.)
@@YOBOgear that's awesome news!!! Adding it to my list of things to get before my next Vacation Turned Into National Park Foundation Fundraised this August!!! Going to make lotsa use of it out on our adventures!!!
Will the Turtlebug be any more stable than the Cricket? I own a Cricket. Really like the Cricket. However, I have discovered that whenever one of my cats or dogs hits the cordage on the corners, I'm usually seconds away from being on my butt on the floor with a Cricket stand on my head. For some reason, my cats and dogs either don't care or are oblivious. Would a Turtlebug be more resistant to late night pet attacks?
@@YOBOgear Thanks! The cats even figured out that barreling through at 3 AM was good entertainment. Turtlebug might be better for when I have to take care of my mom.
Im concerned about the regular type where i can just imagine the steel poles snapping and falling and hitting my head. Is there any risk of the poles in this turtebug or turtlefrog or turtledog hitting or falling on us for any reason? Thanks!
The Turtlebug is way less top heavy than the traditional turtledog style stand. We designed the leg/kickstand angles to take a lot of the forces so we were able to make the ridge pole much lighter. This will greatly reduce the chance of the stand falling over. 😊
The hanging points are 60" off the ground, this gives you the desired 30* angle with the optimum sitting height. Nomad is not capable of using an underquilt if you are taller than 5'...and the turtlebug is selfstanding with a 13' ridgeline rainfly...no one has done this yet...it also perfects the compression angles so you don't lose height by having to suspend the boom.
The awning design looks great, nice work :)
Thank you.
Really looking forward to this! Any ideas how much the camper version will weigh?
Approx. 15lbs
All our estimated weights can be found on this page: YOBOgear.com/turtlebug-hammock-stand

Thank you. We haven’t used a hybrid ourselves yet but based off the measurements on Crua’s website it will work.

Yes, you can add and subtract segments to increase/decrease height and length.
@@YOBOgear but then does that mean 1 model that can adjust to all the 3 sizes?
@@luketoh1 yes, you can add or subtract segments to make any size you like - even sizes we don’t show.
@@YOBOgear ah! answered! thank you.
Kristen, What is the maximum length tarp that will fit with the Camper?
The camper will fit a 13’ tarp.
@@YOBOgear Wow, I would never have guessed that. I am impressed. I would have thought most likely 11’, 12’ max. Thanks.
I am so wanting to get this stand. Do you have recommendations for attaching guylines? We get pop-up wind gusts where I live. Thanks.
The Turtlebug hub has a tie down attachment built into it.
That's wonderful!
Admit it, you made the Mini for Ginger. 😄🦮 Can't wait to add the Turtlebug to my YOBOGear collection. Best hammock stands anywhere.
What can we say 🤷🏼♀️😂

When will they be in production to buy?
We are currently in production and will announce here and all social media channels when they are available to buy 😃
@DrJonGroves, I checked the kickstarter and the website today, website has them available for pre-order.
Do you have one that's tall enough for a perpendicular lay flat hammock like the Draumr 5.0 XL?
Of course. The lounger size fits the Amok perfectly.

@@wisenber there is no cordage on Turtlebug for pets to trip over 😁 Our dog was blind to the Cricket cordage too for some reason.

@@YOBOgear what is the ridge stand?
looks like an ENO Nomad? lol Competition is good though! Will the production model be using 3D printed parts as well?
Haha… at a glance maybe but if you study both there are many differences.
The production model will be injection molded.

@@adrianmettz7463 I use an underquit fine with my nomad
I have an Eno Nomad, it’s way bigger and heavier than this. The Nomad is a car camping rig for sure,,,
Is that 3D printed?
Our prototype is, yes. The final product will be injection molded glass-reinforced nylon.
@@YOBOgear looking forward to it!
