I’m fairly certain Amorim was meant to replace Pep. City recently appointed Sporting’s DOF Hugo Viana, probably getting ready to bring in Amorim later. They did the exact same thing a decade ago. Brought in Txiki Begiristain from Barca and later Pep joined. From the Barca duo to the Sporting duo - I’m pretty sure that was the plan.

Bringing a new manager in with that squad in November, heading into the Xmas/New Year fixtures, is a serious gamble. It's gonna be a very steep learning curve & people have to be prepared for the possibility of some very dark day's through January heading into the spring. Personally I think Thomas Frank would've been the right man but once again the club are taking a punt on a manager who has only had success regarding trophies in his domestic league which in this case is Portugal instead of Holland. Who knows, anything could happen?

Ineos needs to start to make up for the mistake of retaining ETH. And imo, they need to get a grasp on what exactly is Manchester United Football. What was the footballing style that made United.....United? That's where they need to start. If they decided that they want United to play with all the bells and whistles of the so called Modern Football or as I call it the Pep Style, then they should go out and get a Pep type Manager. That's what Arsenal did. Arteta is Pep mini me and the Gunners are playing Arteta's version of Pep ball. To be fair, Arsenal were use to plaingy in a similar way as Wenger was playing a type of game that was Pep Ball before Pep. With the collection of Players led by Messi that Pep had he just took what Wenger was doing to a much higher level that revolutionzied the game of football into what we consider to be Modern Football. So at least the Gunners have this type of Football in their DNA.
If United want to try that road that's fine, then they should go out an hire Pep mini me 2 in Xavi. Then it will be City, Arsenal and United playing their versions of the Barca way.
But if United want to play the type of Football United were famous for, firstly they have to understand what that is and then go hire someone who can play that way. The style of Football that made United famous isn't necessarily dead because it's a thing of the past. A good Manager would understand the nuances of what made United good and couple some modern day tweeking. For me, I would prefer United go their own way and play football differently. That would start with hiring a Manager who is not a Pep disciple. Like Ancelotti, or Zidane or even Howe or Frank. United Football should be high pace, high tempo, winger focused, direct attacking game. That's the essence of United. If anyone watched this weekends El Classico, Both Real and Barca played more like the Old United than Pep's Barca. That's the kind of Football United need to play. Leave the high press, playing out from the back, high possession, tiki taka thing to Pep, Arteta and that lot. Get me flying wingers, forward playing mids and hungry strikers that would sell their mum for a sniff at goal.

This guy will be Ten Haag 2.0 and the same cycle will repeat itself. This whole saga has just proven that Ineos haven’t got a clue about Man Utd as a club and what it needs. A manager coming in from another farmers league who doesn’t understand the premier league or the enormity of the scope of the Man Utd job. I said before the start of last season that Ten Haag was about to get found out and I’ll be right about this too.

Adam, he just had 2 seasons. I know things aren't great and we're struggling but which manager has performed well since Sir Alex left. You do realize the likelihood of a manager coming in and playing fantastic football and getting Champions league football is v unlikely. Two seasons is just not enough time to give to a manager at this club, look how long its taken Arteta to get Arsenal playing well and he still isn't winning the Prem.

It was rudderless while he was there. The signings were dreadful on the whole. In game management wasn’t the best. Come on!! 2 seasons and no progression. He had enough time

@@Partoftheratpack First season was good no? Three finals, two cups also good. I know the results have been poor but how many managers have we had now? Sacking your way to success is defo not working. Remember we don't go back in time to 2013 to start again, its been more than 10 years with this strategy and we are no closer to winning any major honours. The only sliver of hope is that its the new guys making the decisions but don't be surprised if the new man will be sacked in two years though

He wasn't given enough time and I'm a bit devastated over it.
What I'm hearing about this replacement tho, I like, he seems to play my favourite system.
I things to bad with the replacement and they sack him in 3 yrs, I'm going to flipout with the board at this stupid club. 😒

Into his 3rd season and we're just tip toeing above the relegation zone after 9 games mate.
ETH had a great first season, in his 2nd season ....that fa cup final win saved his job after a dreadful season in finishing 8th.
He had spent over 600m , bought trash like antony for 80m who doesn't even play anymore.

Yeah, I've heard all this and I'm sick arguing over it... You're both wrong, the club was a total mess and this has happened with several proven managers now. Hopefully the new guy can change that.
