I had the opportunity to play the drums for The Little Milton Revue from 1998-1999. I was 20 years old and "Mr. C" gave me so much wisdom. I'm thankful for his contribution to my life and to American Music!
I’m from the Mississippi Delta, and I was fortunate enough to know Mr. Campbell and see him on the Chitlin Circuit many times. One of his favorite joints was The Flowing Fountain in Greenville, Mississippi .( In my hometown they call it The Flowing Fountain.) I ate catfish with him and B.B. King there once in the 1980s. Both were fine, genuine gentlemen. RIP Mr. Campbell. ❤️
He’s telling the truth this really happens in real life, love ❤️ the way He can tell this story, I know a lot of ladies can relate to this, I know I can. Sing baby dada dada! This man will make you loose your clothes, this is as clean as I can make it! Ooh 😮 I want to go deeper but I can’t 😲 😯
Dale Williams played with Little Milton for a while. Dale was a neighbor of mine for about a year. He was teaching music at Pierce College. I met Dale by the pool and he asked to try my guitar. I said "sure" and my jaw dropped at the things he was doing with my guitar. If you like Little Milton, check out Dale Williams. Dale also played with Sun Ra, LL Cool Jay and a bunch of other musicians. He is the best guitay player I ever heard. I "retired" from guitar after Dale showed me how it's done by the pros. I knew I could never get there.
Starting 2020 off still listening to Little Milton singing the blues. I love me some Little Milton! Continue to rest in peace baby. A true blues legend, gone but never forgotten. RIP
Little MILTON makes folks become avid BLUES lovers. Once you listen to his voice and guitar strumming folks are hooked......♥️ NOTABLE BLUES SINGER!!! (RIP) ♥️
He was an amazing live performer. I heard him at the SF Blues Fest in 1981 and I have never been moved by a live performance as I was that day. Nobody played the blues better.
Little Milton is BIG in my eyes and ears. Buddy Guy certainly b patterned his singing style after this man, Johnny Lamg and so many others. But there was something here that can't be copied
Yea, down in the basement. Thank you much for this post. Little Milton, my man....an unsung and unappreciated bluesman. Milton style was quite different than Ablert King Albert Collins and clearly different than BB King. Yet he was a bad ass---- just different style lived experiencesexperiences. The Delta Blues Festival in Mississippi Milton played every other year as other great bluesmen. Stevie Ray, I had opportunities (Living Blues Magazine, University of Miss, the Aschoffs had access to where all the blues guys and chicks hung out, and I too was a part of the crowd, these were the days. Milton was a bit standoff as was Bo Dedley. Tyrone Davis,"turn back the hands of time, awesome musician,s David, Mississippi born was based in the Windy City. as Ms. KoKo Taylor "whang dang doodle when the fish scent hit the air there will be snuff juice everywhere". KoKo Talyor written by Mr. Willie Dixon, what started Chess Records, Chicago, Illinois. , Jr. Wells and Buddy Guy all Chicago Base, as was ChiefClear Water. DUring Charles Banner, time who started the festival, there were Juke Joints across the field the musician often played late into the night early morning. The weed was good but illegal, nonetheless, we Mississippians figured a way to acquire and use it. The music sounded so dam good, you driffed into another world.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise halalu halalu halalu but is long-suffering to us,ward not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance
Slow dancing at the hole in the wall to little milton and johnny taylor. Making promises in ears we were not going to keep. Thats what it was to be young.Having good common sense comes later(laugh).
