That brought back some memories. I lived at Clandulla back in 1987, trains were a very frequent sight at the old station back then. Than the line was closed from Rylstone to Mudgee sometime in the 90’s. Trains carrying cement and coal still ran out of Kandos but very few passenger trains. I do remember the special occasions when we would all run down to the station to welcome the steam engines that were hauling tourists on an historic train trip through the area. Simpler times.
Man, that was over 30 years ago! Thanks for haring this "historic" footage! :-) Charbon Junction was interesting - just a sign at the side of the track, yet so many folks were ready to climb aboard.
Hard to believe it was so long ago. Never thought we would ever come to this age, nor did I think that anything would change on the railways. The people who are getting on were already on the train. Just stopped for a photo, before getting back on and continuing. These sorts of photostops are no longer allowed :-(
