  • Production diary 13
Our final production diary focuses on the schools broadcast that happened on Friday 15 November 2013. We talked to Jayne Welsh, the director of language for learning at St Albans Academy about the reasons why she'd decided that all 300 students in years 7, 8 and 9 were included in the broadcast.
"In terms of seeing a production, this for many will be their first time," she says.
Watch the clip to see what the children thought about the broadcast and Jayne's recommendations for other schools who want to be involved in future broadcasts.

I honestly believe that exposing young people to theatre (Not nesc. shakespeare, but its a great place to begin!) is one of the most important things that can happen at school. It can have so many positive effects- streaming live theatre classrooms can have no negative outcomes that I can think of, provided that the class/teacher are prepared.
