The spinosaurus in Camp Cretaceous is the same individual from JP3 and it’s fully grown, at around 15.2 metres long and 6-7 metres tall at the top of the sail. This makes it 50 feet long, one of the two largest carnivores of the franchise, tied with the Indominus Rex fully grown.

My disappointment is how inaccurate JP is in theropod size and build.
You shouldn’t be using the sail of Spino to begin with. Height estimates for theropods are determined at the hip height.
With the discovery of the Spino tail it may increase in weight. Maybe surpassing T Rex.
It is said that T Rex is said to have more fossils Specimens in Western paleo museums stating a weight 10-11 Tons. One more thing on T Rex. Scotty was around 43 feet long.
Giga was impressive but was more of a thinner build. It’s size keeps going down.
We may never know who the largest was. There may be a species that dwarfed them all that didn’t fossilize.

    • @savvystudios3972
      @savvystudios3972 Год назад

there is a very good in canon reason the animals in jurassic park are not accurate. They aren’t genuine dinosaurs, never were, they are all generic hybrids, through gene splicing and filling gaps in the genetic code that are missing, and thus genes from different animals cause the dinosaurs to differ from their paleontological counter parts.

This was actually a very good and detailed video regarding these theropods! I'm really happy someone is keen enough to mention the age of the Spinosaurus during the events of Jurassic Park 3. Compared to Rexy in which it took 5 years of Ingen growth hormones to be displayed as an attraction. It's such a crucial detail many gloss over for some reason.
Just a heads up, Spinosaurus is said to grow 15.2 - 16 meters long according to the 2020 paper by Nizar Ibrahim. The same paleontologist said it weighed 10 to 12 metric tonnes as you mentioned. A large specimen dubbed "NMC 41852" has been recreated as having proportions over 50% greater than the neotype. It potentially represents the largest known S. aegyptiacus specimen, scaling it up from the model given by Ibrahim et al. 2020 and using the densities provided by Larramendi et al. 2020 with the disparity in size SpinoInWonderland got with it and the neotype it would have been around ~16.65 meters long and weighed around ~14 340 kg. It possibly represents the largest known theropod and largest predatory animal capable of locomotion on land. Just food for thought.
As for Giganotosaurus, the most complete specimen and also the holotype, MUCPv-Ch1, is thought to be 12.4 meters in length and weigh more than 8320 kg. The referred dentary MUCPv-95 that appears to have been an animal 6.5 - 10% larger has been used to extrapolate a length of 13.2 - 13.7 meters and a weight of 9000kg - 11000kg. Ignore the 2.2% scaling which is way too conservative by some users referencing Dan Folkes or Franoys.
You may be interested in hearing that the Spinosaurus in Camp Cretaceous is scaled to be 52ft long and 23ft tall according to PuppeteerPaul from Reddit. On the official Jurassic World website, it also stated Spinosaurus to grow to such lengths and up to 11 metric tonnes. Colin Trevorrow recently also said in an interview with Colider that Spinosaurus is the strongest carnivore in the franchise dubbing it as a T.rex killer. Which makes sense seeing as how it was attracted to T.rex pee and is experienced in fighting so. Followed by Giganotosaurus outbesting the Tyrannosaurus everytime.

Cool and interesting video, wether I agree with most of this the Spinosaurus actually was fully grown in JP3, he was actually born the same year as Rexy, we just didn’t see him until JP3, and the Spino in Camp Cretaceous (which is the same Spino) is still the exact same size as the one in JP3 even director confirming it. Also fun fact Rexy is ever so slightly taller than Spino at head to head, but yeah Spino’s still longer than Rexy

Size is determined by weight, in which case T-Rex wins in terms of largest carnivorous dinosaur
If we go in terms of the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise, trex is a lot smaller due to it being designed like a starved african child. In terms of the franchise, giga likely wins
On a side note, trex’s speed does an inverse in this scenario. In real life giganotosaurus was by far the fastest, and trex was incredibly slow in terms of a terrestrial hunter

Um, I'm not sure we should measure height by the sail, but as we usually do we should measure it by the hip, in which case Tyrannosaurus dominates. Giganotosaurus is also NOT longer than Tyrannosaurus, but its length is actually a bit difficult to estimate and the safest we can say is that it's slightly shorter or as long as Tyrannosaurus. In terms of height (from the hip, not the sail), weight, volume, and mass (as well as length, in comparison to Giga and excluding Spino) the T-Rex reigns supreme as the biggest ever land carnivore. Also, the JP3 Spinosaurus was born in 1999, and was definitely fully grown by 2001, and there's no telling if it kept growing or not, and Indominus dominates them all.

@@gravityfallscanada Ftlog, here we go. We know spinosaurus factually weighed less than giga and rex because it had a high bone density that allowed it to be more adept to a subaqueous lifestyle, we factually know spinosaurus was in the 6-8 ton range (8 tons being near the highest possible weight based on current estimates), meanwhile T-Rex averaged out at over 8 to 9 tons (And 9 tons is factual based on the weight of the rex specimens Scotty and Sue, with Scotty nearly reaching 10 tons in weight), and giganotosaurus averages out in the same weight range as what would be the heaviest of spinosaurs (Around 8 tons). So yes, we can indeed determine a lot about weight based on the skeletal structure.

Here is a comparison of the most complete and sure estimates of three theropod dinosaurs and an unsure estimate of a larger Spinosaurus:
Tyrannosaurus rex (FHMN PR 2081 - Sue)
    Length - 12.39 meters
    Height (hip) - 3.8 meters
    Total height - 4.32 metrs
    Weight - 10 tonnes
    Giganotosaurus carolinii (Mucpv-Ch1- holotype)
    Length- 12.57 meters
    Height (hip) - 3.5 meters
    Total height - 3.76 meters
    Weight - 7.8 tonnes
Spinosaurus aegyptiacus (IPHG 1912 VIII IK - holotype)
    Length - 9.43 meters
    Height (hip) - 1.85 meters
    Total height - 2.74 meters
    Weight - 3.7 tonnes
    Spinosaurinae indet. (MSNM v4047)
    Length - 14.43 meters
    Height (hip) 2.35 meters
    Weight - 7.3 tonnes
Tyrannosaurus rex is the biggest theropod and by extension the biggest fully terrestrial carnivore ever to walk the Earth.
Tyrannosaurus rex was also the smartest out of all large theropods, while having impeccable eyesight better than a hawk and incredible smell. Tyrannosaurus had the strongest bite of any fully terrestrial animal ever. The bulk of T. rex gives it strength and agility over S. aegyptiacus and G. carolinii.
T rex wins this one no questions asked.

Though the JP rex always looked very nice, I think today we know it would be a lot more heavier with a huge gut. And though it is questionable on what dinos grew larger, another factor is that Tyrannosaurs would have likely had a much shorter life span because it fought the most dangerous dinosaurs of all time (prey wise). I have not seen the new movie but the JP specs even put the original Rex (Rexy) at a larger size than Spino. I believe the T-rex is 17ft and 44ft long while Spino is 16ft and 43ft long. I have seen this before but the consistency of JP facts are all over the place sometimes.
