I'm 73. Her Majesty was my Queen and Head of State as I grew up, got married, had children, got divorced and got Grandchildren. She was the constant presence in all our lives. I can't imagine having an elected Head of State given the dreadful bunch of politicians (of any party) that we currently have.
One of my favourite things that Queen Eluzabeth II did was a Paddington Bear scene in which he had tea and marmalade sandwiches with the Queen. It was adorable, children loved it and it was a lovely thing for her to do and undoubtedly took a while + green screen work to incorporate Paddington.
@@laurabailey1054 I did and the scene with Daniel Craig parachuting in with the Queen, was very well done, funny and very much the sort of thing she would have enjoyed 😉
Our late Queen had a very dry and mischievous sense of humour. Her body guard told this story: During one of her trips to Balmoral, and because she loved the countryside and outdoors, one day she and her bodyguard were out on a walk in the appropriate gear. Two American tourists on a hiking holiday happened to pass them and not recognising the Queen in her civvies, stopped for a chat. One of the tourists said to the Queen “Where are you from?” The Queen replied “I’m from London, but I’ve been coming up here for over 80 years and have a holiday home here”. “Oh! said the tourist, then you must have met the Queen”. The Queen said “I haven’t, but Dickie here has met her many times” she said pointing to her bodyguard. “Oh!” The tourist replied. “What’s she like?” Knowing the Queen’s sense of humour well, the bodyguard replied “Well, she can be a bit cantankerous at times, but she has a wonderful sense of humour.” The next thing the bodyguard knows is the American guy comes up to him, gives his camera to the Queen and says “Can you take a photo of us?” Then they swap places and the bodyguard takes a photo of the tourists with the Queen. After the tourists left. The Queen said “I’d love to be a fly on the wall when he shows those photos to all his friends. I do hope someone tells him who I am”. 😂😂😂
The Late Queen drove like a rally driver . She used to enjoy pulling up to drive quite shocked Heads of State on the windsor Estate and giving them a white knuckle ride .
Famously the Saudi Prince or King. His country banned women from driving and had supposedly said something in an interview about it. So she drove him at speed around Balmoral

There's a video of King Charles in a similar vein. He has also been an active environmental campaigner, following in his father's (Prince Phillip's) footsteps. Now it's Prince William's turn, as the reigning monarch cannot be so active in issues which might be considered controversial.
QEII was definitely a class above her children. Stephen Fry was invited to a few dinners, I guess at Windsor. He said after dinner she'd get up on the table and do funny impressions and skits (I think he said she did a very good Concorde jet 😀) Best Wishes. ☮
Hi Guys , she was an amazing woman . She was very quick witted , a great ambassador for our country and committed all the way through her reign that alone should be admired 😊.
Let's not forget that she was not born to be our Queen so she had a 'normal' upbringing. It was a culture shock for her and her Father when her Uncle abdicated. Her Mother, Queeen Mary was much loved too. All Royals learn to shoot guns on their estates.
The Queen had a buzzer or an alarm that she could press if she needed staff, like a modern version of the old bell system and she was able to press those so staff knew she wanted them. But she knew it could take up to 10 minutes for them to Come from staff quarters in the palace as it was the middle of the night.
great reaction guys, now you must react to her Daughter Princess Anne who's an even bigger Badass, once fighting off an armed kidnapper, she's an Olympian horse rider to and the hardest working Royal you will love Anne.
The royals live a more normal life than people realise I used to live in a village half way between the Kings & Princess Anne’s country homes when it was hay making time the whole family helped Princess Anne always drove the machinery All the royal family drive themselves except on official occasions x🇬🇧
She wasn't the only member to have served in the armed forces at the time that video was made,Price Andrew served in the Falklands war in 1982 as a naval helicopter pilot and since the video was made,Prince Henry(Harry) did two tours of Afghanistan.👍
All male members of the royal family serve in the armed forces. The two you reference were the only two in recent times to serve during a time of conflict. HM Queen Elizabeth was the only female to do so.
I met her in 1977, she’d been queen for 25 years, it was very, very brief. I always thought she was pretty badass, and I’m not generally a royalist, but I had a lot of respect for her.
She had drivers, she only drove on her private estates. I believe the intruder asked for a cigarette, she said she didn't smoke and said she'd get someone to bring some. Obviously she used a code word to get help. I think the guy was harmless. I'm no royalist but she was fairly badass, I don't think they really covered the real reasons, in that video.
'Being themselves' is why they love going to Scotland so much. They can let their hair down away from the press and relax like normal folks. The local Scottish people leave them in peace. They used to have BBQ's in the countryside with Prince Philip doing the burger flipping. 😀
Pheasant hunting is definitely a 'thing' ... especially in places like Allenheads/Allendale in Northumberland. People come from all over the world to hunt on Lord Allendale's land during the season!
The late Queen is sadly missed , she was a constant and reassuring presence and a great ambassador for the Country . When working occasionally on Britannia the ship that carried her around the World the crew members all said how nice she was and you could tell they were being genuine .
When Danny Boyle planned the bond/Queen sketch it was without speaking, but the queen wasn't happy and decided to say the line she did, She loved doing things like that. Still miss her
The reigning monarch doesn't require a license because the license is issued in their name as stated in the video. Official travel they used chauffeur driven vehicles, but their properties are huge and they drive themselves around their properties and unofficial trips as well.
The current PM of Canada met the Queen when he was a little boy and his father was PM of Canada. The late Queen was a mechanic and ambulance driver during WWII. The Queen has fixed stranded motorists’ cars when they have broken down by Balmoral in Scotland. The Queen has a wicked sense of humour King Charles does drive himself and was recently seen driving to Church. The Queen’s mother was referred to as the most dangerous woman in Britain during WWII because she carried a pistol in her purse and knew how to use it by Winston Churchill. The Queen’s son Andrew served as a navy helicopter pilot during the Falklands war. The Queen was the first woman in the royal family to serve in the military.
They missed the best one, of her interaction with Paddington Bear. She lived was past 1996, the James Bond skit was 2012, and Prince Philip died during Covid and she out lived him. 2022 was the celebration of 70 yrs and she died later that year. We loved her because she was a people's queen, the way her mother and father were during the war. King Charles has had his moments. Appearing with the Goons, beloved comedy group. He recently, after becoming King, was seen to interact with some hikers in Scotland when he was on one of his long walks. He is not as outgoing in appearance, but I'm sure he would love to be asked. She started a new approach to monarchy. ❤❤❤👵🏴🌹🌹🌹
I cannot belive that you would even consider that The 86 year old monarch would parachute out of an helicopter, and would be allowed to carry a firearm for anything other than hunting on private land. Most members of The Royal Family including King Charles drive themselves, unless on official engagements.
The Queens (or King now ) sleeping quarters and a few others have silent alarm buttons. Also quite a few things in the video are inaccurate. But it is what it is as people will exaggerate or embellish the story telling .
Dont forget, Steve, that Her Majesty was not expected to become Queen when she was a younger Princess, growing up. Her Uncle David (aka Edward VIII) was the son of George V, and was meant to become the King upon his father's death. However, he met, fell for and chose to abdicate his role as Monarch as he was not allowed to marry his already twice-married American "lady love" (Wallis Simpson). It was only due to his abdication (and he was _not_ actually crowned King), that our late Queen's father was crowned King George VI - his chosen name in honour of his late father, King George V - (although his birthname was Albert - known as "Bertie" to our late Queen's Mother - Lady Elizabeth Bowes Lyon (pronounced "Bo's lion") who became known as Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, folloowing Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953) ... Growing up, Elizabeth was 'merely a young lady within a royal family, not expecting either her father to become King, or herself to become Queen... Edward VIII's abducation definitely put paid to any hopes of a "normal family, albeit _Royal_ life". Rest In Peace Your Majesty, your duty and absolute devotion to your early vow, is over now. Stand down. Rest Easy.
@@Chris-dm1je "She"? Do you mean the Queen (Elizabeth II) ? The young Princess Elizabeth took a shine to Prince Philip, he was 18, she was 13, _when_ did she have a wish "to marry a farmer"... When she was 12 ?!

Our Queen was one in a billion. Life doesn't seem the same with her gone. Certainly not any royal function. When she done a military inspection she knew exactly what she was inspecting and she demanded a high standard.
Our late Queen had a great sense of humour. You should have a look at the Queen with Paddington bear 🐻 for her Platinum Jubilee. King Charles like his mother loves to drive and still does on his privet time. The late Queen use to drive on her own land when she got older. But as with the King now when attending an event or just going from one place to another they have to have security with them so they have a professional driver and other security cars around them.
What people tend to forget is that our beautiful Queen drove an ambulance, trucks and other vehicles during WWII, and was a mechanic, doing the maintenance on those vehicles during that time. She was no wilting wallflower!! All the royals drive themselves whenever they can. For example Prince William often drives if he and the King are headed for the same venue. Obviously for formal state occasions they will be driven by chauffeurs. The comment that the Corgi's are not house trained is untrue. It was just a puppy that had not yet been house trained that had an oopsie or two, and the story became exaggerated beyond belief!
She scared the shit out of the Saudi king, driving around Balmoral, having been told "women aren't allowed to drive" (basically women can't drive) so she showed him how women drive😅😂 not long after that the Saudis introduced driving licences for women. 😮
The first time Fagen broke into The Palace The Queen wasn’t in residence so he just had a look around, drunk a bottle of Prince Charles wine, broken a vase and pee’d in The Corgis water bowl, as he had got away with it once he decided to return for another go. He didn’t know where The Queens apartments were it was just by chance he happened to break into the right ( or wrong) place. He wasn’t dangerous and did t want to harm her, he did just want her to listen to him and she did. She did have a button to press but people were sleeping and it went unheard. Heads will have rolled and people will have been fired make no mistake about that.
They missed out on the best story of when the Queen took the Saudi Crown Prince for a drive around her Balmoral estate. In Saudi at the time, it was illegal for women to drive as he explained to her. The Queen was the one to suggest to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Abdullah that they take a spin around the Balmoral grounds in her Land Rover. He was amused at the idea and accepted the offer. Once they were all seated, the Queen decided to floor it down the winding narrow roads and weaving through the bends at high speed like she was competing in the World Rally Championship. He was left begging her to slow down.
I have never been keen on the monarchy, however, I have great respect for HM Queen Elizabeth II, her husband was a complete loon though, sometimes in a very humorous way!
Her Majesty was also a great mimic apparently, mostly of famous people that she'd met. I think that Prince William will be an excellent king, but I'm not too sure about the others, although King Charles seems to be doing okay, and Princess Anne is a tireless worker for the Royal Family and numerous charities that she supports.

Hi Guys , she was an amazing woman . She was very quick witted , a great ambassador for our country and committed all the way through her reign that alone should be admired 😊.
Being queen that was her job but she was also wife mother and grandma too.
Let's not forget that she was not born to be our Queen so she had a 'normal' upbringing. It was a culture shock for her and her Father when her Uncle abdicated. Her Mother, Queeen Mary was much loved too. All Royals learn to shoot guns on their estates.
Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother was her mother !
The Queen had a buzzer or an alarm that she could press if she needed staff, like a modern version of the old bell system and she was able to press those so staff knew she wanted them. But she knew it could take up to 10 minutes for them to
Come from staff quarters in the palace as it was the middle of the night.
great reaction guys, now you must react to her Daughter Princess Anne who's an even bigger Badass, once fighting off an armed kidnapper, she's an Olympian horse rider to and the hardest working Royal you will love Anne.
Morning you lovely pair, again you've brightened up my day x
King Charles does drive himself - he drove to church in Scotland last week it was in the media here.
The queen hunted at Sandringham and Balmoral, it was by all accounts one of her favourite hobbies.
Met her a few times myself during the 80s when I lived in Lambeth palace in London, also pictures of me in a book as a child meeting her. R.I.P
The late Queen is sadly missed , she was a constant and reassuring presence and a great ambassador for the Country . When working occasionally on Britannia the ship that carried her around the World the crew members all said how nice she was and you could tell they were being genuine .
She not only drove her own cars but could also repair them. Her Majesty was a Land Girl during WW2.
ATS……Driver
Land Girls worked on farms.
Apparently she phoned security and asked for cigarettes and everyone knew she did not smoke therefore something was wrong.🐵🙈🙊🙉
When Danny Boyle planned the bond/Queen sketch it was without speaking, but the queen wasn't happy and decided to say the line she did, She loved doing things like that. Still miss her
Queen Elizabeth II was 5’4".
"The Queen's not tall."
"Well, that's because of all the time she spends standing around with natives waggling their doodahs at her."
Victoria Wood.
I think she lost a couple of inches by the time she died.
She had a wicked sense of humour
The reigning monarch doesn't require a license because the license is issued in their name as stated in the video. Official travel they used chauffeur driven vehicles, but their properties are huge and they drive themselves around their properties and unofficial trips as well.
The current PM of Canada met the Queen when he was a little boy and his father was PM of Canada.
The late Queen was a mechanic and ambulance driver during WWII.
The Queen has fixed stranded motorists’ cars when they have broken down by Balmoral in Scotland.
The Queen has a wicked sense of humour
King Charles does drive himself and was recently seen driving to Church.
I believe the queen trained to be a car mechanic during the war.
Did you not watch the video?
I cannot belive that you would even consider that The 86 year old monarch would parachute out of an helicopter, and would be allowed to carry a firearm for anything other than hunting on private land. Most members of The Royal Family including King Charles drive themselves, unless on official engagements.
The Queens (or King now ) sleeping quarters and a few others have silent alarm buttons. Also quite a few things in the video are inaccurate. But it is what it is as people will exaggerate or embellish the story telling .
Things don't feel the same without her.
That's a good point about Charles. There's nothing to stop him having a license because his mom would have issued it 🤔
I never thought about the king / queen having a driving license, it's certainly interesting 🤔
I miss her
For shooting Her Majesty would have shot Grouse, Pheasant and possibly Red Deer. Not pigeons as HM was very into racing pigeons.
she hunts deer on her land in Scotland and the birds are pheasants they didnt know until the maid came in
Dont forget, Steve, that Her Majesty was not expected to become Queen when she was a younger Princess, growing up.
Stand down. Rest Easy.
Her father had wanted to drop out of Royal life and make a career as a professional tennis player. She herself wanted to marry a farmer.

"She"?
Do you mean the Queen (Elizabeth II) ?
The young Princess Elizabeth took a shine to Prince Philip, he was 18, she was 13, _when_ did she have a wish "to marry a farmer"... When she was 12 ?!
@brigidsingleton1596 I was assuming you would know I was talking about the same person as in your comment. And yes, until she met Philip, Her Late Majesty Queen Elzabeth II of Great Britain and Northern Island did want to be a farmer's wife. Have you never heard of someone having an ambition from childhood?

Sorry - I cannot read your entire comment, my Tablet has been playing up since yesterday and now it won't let me scroll to "read more" :'-(
And princess ann is definitely her mother's daughter!!! She's an even bigger badass!!!
The attempted kidnapping!
I’m pretty sure she was a volunteer ambulance driver during WW 2, hence the daring driving.
🌹🇬🇧🌹Queen Elizabeth was 5feet 4inches
She was supposed to have a wicked sense of humour in private.
The Queen didn't need to carry a weapon as she had bodyguards surrounding her on all engagements. Perhaps she should have had one under her pillow!
The Queen's horse keeper said she rode a horse just days before she died. At 96, I was like wow.😂❤
