Watch me scratch build a Borderlands style Lookout Tower from XPS foam for my Dungeons and Dragons tabletop game! I use foam, craft paint, hot glue, and flocking to make this scatter terrain.

Every piece of your work has so much love in it. There are many crafting channels on youtube but yours is different. Thank you for your beautiful work.
Thank you for the encouragement! There is a lot of talent out there and I have learned much from so many. I'm still trying to find my style. This hobby is definitely my happy place!
@@ravenstead I think you allready found your style and it is a great one.
Babe wake up! New Ravenstead craft video has dropped! 🔥
Haha! Thank you for the support!
That's a great looking tower!
Very evocative of Keep on the Borderlands
I love that module! This hobby is very nostalgic for me! Thank you for watching!
I really like your attention to construction accuracy.
Well the concepts are there at least! I love the mash up of wood and stone construction!
Amazing build, think its my favorite so far.
Keep up the great work
Thank you! This build was so much fun!
I think this is one of your best individual pieces so far, though the others are all very cool too. I really like your style, and it’s always impressive seeing the quality of the result considering how cheap and simple the materials are
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement! This build was so much fun! There is something magical about making something from hardly anything!
Another cool build, brother. I hope the one who's climbing that rope can trust the rotten plank! -Rick, USMC
It's gonna be up to a die roll to see if that plank holds! Thanks for checking it out!
Such a versatile and visually interesting terrain piece! Well done.
Thank you for watching! This was a super fun build!
solid build perfect for gaming
I try to walk the line between diorama and scatter terrain! Thanks for checking it out!
Really lovely build. I really like how playable your builds are.
I have to resist the urge to build dioramas instead of gaming terrain. I go for the middle ground. Thanks for checking it out!
very cool. All your fantasy structures have so much character.
Thank you! I wish I could live in some of these builds.. minus the orcs!
beautiful work as always
the floor sticking out on the second level is clever
Thank you! It was a technique I saw on some medieval castles. Most of them burned out at some point. Maybe I should show a build with fire damage!
@@ravenstead that would be epic!
This build looks great. I would've loved to see a broken gate/entrance too 👍
Great idea! I could have made the broken door be the ramp. Next time!
Very nice build. Thanks for sharing this with us.
This one was a super fun build! Thanks!
Looks great. Loved how it turned out.
Thank you! I should have a better plan before I start but honestly that's the fun for me, figuring it out as I go!
Really love this building 😊😊😊
You always create such awesome pieces of terrain ❤😊❤
Thank you! Your support really keeps me going! I'm starting another build today!
Love it! Great subtle detailed work as always! Great inspiration!
Thank you for watching! It was nice to get back to some scatter terrain!
Great job. Love your stuff.
Thank you so much for watching!
@@ravenstead You should look into adding oil paint washes to your terrain. I've started doing it and you'll find the blending of colors amazing on stone and wood. Not expensive but takes a bit more time to dry. The secret is enough thinner so it goes on as a wash. Regardless, great stuff you're doing. Keep posting!
@@ArchaeoMAC I would like to try oil washes, they seem very dynamic. I can only spare about a day for my builds so drying time is definitely a factor. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@ravenstead Sure. I get it. The drying time isn't too onerous for washes as it is the paint that is drying, the thinner fades quickly. Try putzing around with it. It was a game changer for me. My last step on any build (even after any acrylic washes or veg and foliage) is usually a dark brown, a reddish brown, a dark green, and sometimes a blue. They blend together beautifully, add great variation and interest in the stone and hide any paint stroke blemishes or any acrylic wash puddle stains (or at least subdue them a bit) A while back Black Magic Craft did some great demonstrations on oil washes. I took those and ran with them. They were game changers. Not tryin' to tell you your business, I just like your work. Cheers!
Loved this! The purple really pops :)
I was pleasantly surprised by this Temu product. I think I might do a product review because the two other types I purchased were a little weird looking. Thanks for watching!
Another excellent build from you. Hope the rotten plank doesn't give out when the ork tries to rappel.
I like putting little challenges into my builds! I will definitely use this one at the game table. Thanks for watching!
@@ravenstead I just saw this on TabletopEngineer's RPG & WARGAME NEWSLETTER #78. Hope it brings you more traffic.
Another great build!
Thank you for watching! I can't wait to start another build!
Fantastic!! As always.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching another video! I'm gonna do my best to keep them coming!
@@ravenstead I have been sort of in a slump these days watching videos. So I am playing "catchup." So no rush. Just know your work is so appreciated and enjoyable.
Very nice
Thank you!
Glorious!
Thanks! I could build towers all day!
Great build
Thank you for watching!
@@ravenstead thanks for sharing
Looks great ❤
Thank you! This was a fun build!
This is awesome 👏
Thank you for watching! This was a fun build!
Love it!
It was a super fun build!
It's a nice terrain piece. I like it. The base looks very unnatural, though, still too much like cut out with a knife.
Thanks, I'll have to work on that. I prefer the foam bases to MDF or 1/4" foam but it can be challenging working with the higher profile. I'll try a shallower bevel on the next one. I appreciate the feedback.
Climbing rope doesn't work too well for us warriors in chainmail or heavier armor 😅
Excellent work, it's absolutely amazing for DND
You will definitely need to make an athletics check to get up the rope! That rotten plank looks kinda weak..
