Simply outstanding, not just the music but the video as well. So much to say about this performance. Honestly, I was blown away. I hope you like it.

Geoff just released a sequel to this, a cover of I See Fire, where all the dwarves get a solo, and it is amazing. Other songs that really show his range are Blackbird and High & Dry. BTW his name is pronounced cas-tel-oo-chi it is Italian.

We are all so lucky to be able to watch and listen to Geoff produce music like this. He's a genius arranger, able to divine the heart of a song, pay respect to the original, and give it his own twist all in one stunning arrangement. His understanding of direction and videography is also shockingly good considering he does most of it on his own. And his performance is inimitable, with that ridiculously large range and unmistakable warm, round timbre. It blows my mind a bit that someone who is that impressive on so many levels is still largely unknown outside of RUclips.

Voiceplay toured worldwide before Covid shut everything down. Voiceplay increased their studio work and have become masters. Geoff started doing solo work when they shut down, so his catalogue is not nearly as extensive but is all brilliant. A friend sent me a link to his cover of 16 Tons, which led me to Voiceplay and I have been hooked ever since.
    Calming - Shenandoah
    Funny - Way Down
    Romantic - Till Then
    Amazing - Sound of Silence
Knocks your sox off - I See Fire
Pick anything that strikes your fancy, he will not disappoint.

You should take a look/listen to his cover of Ain't No Sunshine. It's extreme, but it's also very "normal" in appearance - yet absolutely detail perfect. I wonder if the reason it seems authentic is that he does all of his own arrangements, and won't do a song if he doesn't think he can bring something new to it. So it's always very personalized artistically... he doesn't just toss things off, he has to love the song to put in that much work.

Speaking of the set he's using, you will see it in a VoicePlay video as well ("Dragonborn Comes") as well as another Geoff video (which you might want to watch come Halloween "Monster Mash"). It is a set from PattyCake Productions for their 'Villains' Lair' series. PattyCake is co-owned by Layne Stein (VPs beatboxer) and Tony Wakim (once VPs baritone, but he preferred being behind the camera, sometimes directs them, sometimes costumes them.)
And I will echo others in suggesting you really MUST do Geoff's cover of "I See Fire" with these same 'dwarves'. It is beautifully done and also quite moving. Pretty much everything on his channel is wonderful, but my fave is still "16 Tons". Even though many other songs are spectacular.

I understand the name Castellucci to be Italian but yes it's pronounced as Casteloochi. It Italian the cc becomes ch. Geoff likes to write four or five part harmonies in his arrangements so, as he can sing all the parts, he does it. For one thing it's cheaper that way :) And he sounds good at every level. It's even more obvious in his latest, I See Fire. He really is special. Actually he covers many genres, and he is brilliant in any of them. And yes he writes arrangements that touch your soul. It's a gift. Nice reaction. In ViucePlay videos when Layne does the arrangement he pushes Geoff to go every lower, or for longer, because he's like that. :)

And this is earlier Geoff! For a good example of his range, you can't do better than to watch Ain't No Sunshine. Unlike with Voiceplay, solo Geoff uses instruments.
