Easy Mo Bee: There's a Ton of Unreleased Music From Biggie

- www.vladtv.com - Osten Harvey, Jr. is the hip-hop producer responsible for hits like Craig Mack's "Flava In Ya Ear" and a slew of favorites by Biggie Smalls, but we all know him as the great Easy Mo Bee. The Bed-Stuy native who was involved with Bad Boy Records during its prime sat down with us exclusively to discuss the lack of diversity in today's music and untold stories of the Notorious B.I.G. before he got his infamous title.
Easy Mo Bee remembers the day when Sean "Puffy" Combs was just an intern and asked that Easy play some music for his new artist with Andre Harrell. "Come to find out this new artist they wanted me to play music for is the same dude that months and months before DJ Mister Cee [played for me]," Easy recalled. "The new artist was Biggie...He wasn't even Notorious yet."
The two then went on to collaborate on countless Biggie hits, including their first track "Party & Bulls***." "Our chemistry was good so Puffy kept it going," which resulted in Easy Mo Bee producing "Warning," the title track and three other songs on B.I.G.'s debut studio album, "Ready to Die." "There's a bunch of unreleased stuff that never saw the light of day, too," he later admits.
Hear what original songs were never made public, as well as, a couple of stories of Easy Mo Bee's personal encounters with Biggie in this intriguing clip - Easy even has a few words for the upcoming artists of today. Remembering a time where "you could almost go boutique shopping for music" he encourages artists out now to "not just ride trends and just go with your heart." "Do what your insides are telling you to do, because that right there will definitely contribute to the diversity which we need right now - we need a lot more of that," he concluded. Easy Mo Bee is a straight up legend, he's the only Hip Hop producer to record a full album with Miles Davis.
denmark555 Well if he recorded with a singer he ain't a HIP HOP producer. He's a producer.
+QuadrantBottomHalf Miles Davis worked with Easy Mo Bee, because of his influence and skills as a "Hip Hop" producer. Yes, he's produced singers and is a highly respected multi-genre producer. Though his work with Miles, was done under the umbrella of Hip Hop..........
Thats huge!!
Big facts here!!!
@@QuadrantBottomHalf what?
Rap was fun for Biggie. Dude said, Big would just sit there twiddling his thumbs or play during studio time with his friends and just get up and lay a track down. That to me is straight amazing.
Easy Mo Bee literally produced the six best songs on Ready To Die
Don’t forget DJ premier’s Unbelievable
@TrapBush Baby Ready To Die, The What, Gimme the loot, Machine Gun Funk, Warning, Friend of Mine.
Puff owes this man foever. No bad boy without moe
He produced biggies best songs
Biggie Shakur its a trip but thats America, people getting paid off other people's backs.
Flava in Ya Ear too, the remix was a monster don’t forget 🔥 UPS is hiring
Facts cream puff a snake 🐍
This man produced Machine Gun Funk, The What, and Ready to Die what a fucking legend!!!!!
Can't forget "The Warning"
Hes the one who created the hip hop classic "Flava In Ya Ear"
#CraigMack
A lot more than that.. Lol
Nice!
Those biggie tapes need to be released.
k @puff daddy
Man, this generation wouldn't know what hit them if they dropped a full album of unreleased material. NOT with new beats and chopped up verses, keep that ish to yourself. They wrecked Pac's unreleased library by doing that. We need that raw and untouched art.
RMHersey23 PREACH
MoedogsLegitRemakes Thanks girlfriend!
word up yo they did tupac dirty! keep in mind there is still a ton of his unreleased music so maybe there might still be some hits
Agreed 100000000000000%. I read a long time ago before they started releasing all of the B-sides and whack remixes that Daz claimed to have about 2000 tracks he recored with Pac in his vault. I guess we will believe it when we see it........
RMHersey23 Im thankful other people agree, I dont want to hear it if its not how it sounded when the artist created it.
That warning beat. 🔥
Mo Bee made that beat for Big Daddy Kane and Kane told him next lol
MrWARBUCKS24 Whoa?! Kane was bugging...
C'mon SON! Word and Kane swears to this day that Mo didn't play it for him Biggie slaughtered it but I know Kane would've killed it too
Tito Nino and 2Pacs temptations?
+caramel king200000 Uh what?
This guy is an unsung legend in hip hop
Wow, I never knew Easy produced 'I Love the Dough' or 'Going back to Cali'. Both of those were standout tracks on the album and bring back so many memories.
cun7us i love the dough is highly slept on
Wow I love the dough was a straight classic
Mo Bee look like Evander Holifield
Lol
Yo Moe Bee mannee drop that shit..
RIP TUPAC
Tupac Shakur Pac the greatest
Thought the same thing too! Lol
+lightmajor1
Heeeey! Heeeeeey.
temptatioms-2pac my fav song
Mo Bee got beats
Hebrew Honey 4sho, and u got the look shorty!
Hebrew Honey he most def does. and you got looks.
Yall talking bout hits he made a decade ago Wats he dropped lately is the real question
3268right music is timeless and beyond boundaries. some people make hundreds of records and others make just one that pop off better then all the hundred combined. it is all about the feel and the skill
Hebrew Honey Hebrew Honey got them teets.
One of greatest hip hop producers of all times. His catalog is ridiculous....he did so many tight joints with biggie, lost boyz,tupac..etc
The title says there is a ton of unreleased songs from Biggie but Easy Moe Bee said its just four songs.
Thats just his productions. Probably some produced by others.
I’m sure there are a lot of verses left out there of Fts. that never saw the light of day. Most Likely for legality issues with bad boy people won’t let those come out. Cause I’ve heard there’s still mad shit left of Tupac that are in the vaults.
This guy has made 2pac's, Biggies and Busta's best songs. You know what a fucking acheivement that is??? #salute to MoBee
HE did 2pac's Temptations...that;s my favorite 2pac song.
Agree!
Thanks for your comment. Honestly had no idea👊
That epmd sample was hard in the song
I wonder why Puffy is holding Big's material like that, I guess he's finding ways to make the most money off it.. Hopefully he will release some material on Big's anniversary.. I hope he doesn't throw himself on those tracks, and dilute it with his corny pop verses.
Very underrated producer but Puff blackballed him after Easy checked him on taking credit as co-producer on his work.
QuadrantBottomHalf of course he would ... Puff is a dumbass
Mo Bee madd underrated when it comes to getting his props
You worked with two off the greatest to touch a mic 2pac and Notorious B.I.G
Let's not forget KANE.
Everyone always says Premier, Pete Rock, Large Pro, Dr Dre, etc... but Easy Mo Bee is easily the most overlooked producer of all time. I wish him and Nas would do something.
Yo MO Be man drop that shit!
Jordan Bolduc temptations
Eesy Mo Bee - one of the best producers to do it !
Easy Mo Bee one of the greatest
Real producer. Not a fruity loop beat maker.
whats the difference? (serious question)
Anon Brady
Its a different mind set making beats on actual hardware drum machines and samplers vs the computer. Its more hands on and it definetly takes longer tweaking the hardware units which Easy Mo B comes from but the beats are more personal. Ive done both with hardware and computer based. Its takes a lot of patience with hardware but the end result is usually better and im more likely to complete the whole beat. With the computer I probably wont finish the beat because I might hear something else that makes me want to start a new beat. Other than that one is not better than the other. Just different mindsets.
Rodney D plus the sound is thicker and more in your face with the hardware
He literally produced all my favorite songs on r2d
This guy got some of the best beats ever! Top 3 of all time..
Str8 ballin by Pac 🔥
the 6 tracks he listed were the best tracks on ready to die
I'm almost embarrassed to say that I kinda forgot about Easy Mo Bee. I was a definitely a kid that read all the album credits, but he just kinda slipped right past me. I was listening to a remix he did for the Whitehead Brothers and it all came back to me. There was a distinctive sound that he used. The work he did was ridiculous and I have much respect for him. Damn, I miss the 90's. Great interview.
Him and Mark The 45King
LaCheleWallace Yeah same here. Whenever people ask me who my favorite producers are Id usually say DJ Premo, Dr. Dre & Mel-Man, Large Pro, Pete Rock, Alchemist, Marley Marl, J Dilla. But shit, I dunno how I forgot about Mo Bee. Just the work alone he did on Ready To Die & Me Against The World was incredible. And youre right about his production having a signature sound to it. It sounds very dark, yet uplifting, lots of soul & its very melodic. But totally different then anyone else out there. Hes hands down one of the best producers of all time.
Evan Martin Glad I'm not the only one. He used this horn type sound a lot. That's what it was.
Damn, the Whitehead bros....now THAT's some real R&B for that ass..."your love is a 187!"
tswagg504 That was my favorite song that year.
RIP Craig Mack💚❤ Long Island alumni gone too soon. Peace. Prayers to the family. Alvin, Eric n Parish keep ur head up.
I remember being in a studio session with some ppls of mine, in his studio on 42nd St. He played the flavor in your beat just to see how it hit.. CRAZY loud. Super fire..
Easy Mo Bee is too real.
Temptations is a TUNE!!!!!!!
Love that tune. I'm glad that it was never destroyed by radio play.
his best one
FACTS!!!
Not even in my 2pac top 25 songs.
i love what he did for Biggie, those tracks were crazy!!....these unreleased tracks he talking about have been put out on mixtapes alrerady
it would be nothing short as a miracle to hear another original BIG album. We would all be so blessed. Biggie was it, the complete artist.
Damn when I was scrolling through real quick Easy Mo looked liked Evander Holyfield lol. Salute to the legend though.
Bring Mo Bee back!!! Love this cat's production work!!
He look like evander holyfield, bernard hopkins, and Wesley pipes fused together
Good looking out for this one ...
Machine gun funk will forever be his best work
Deewevol i
Warning/Temptations
i can't understand how much this guy has gone under the radar... I've never really heard anyone speak about who made the beats for Biggie, and Craig Mack. Got both albums and they're some of the sickest beats I've ever heard
David Fryer don't forget he did a lot of work with 2Pac on the Me Against the World album
David Fryer because Puff sort of blackballed him when he called him out on putting himself as co-producer to get credits
Man … if Biggie had gotten hold of "Straight Ballin'" and "Temptations" by Easy Mo Bee it would have been game over. Wish that could have happened.
Man, a Biggie remix of Temptations would have been monster!
He couldn't make better songs then Pac did to those beats... Stop it. Biggie could rap for sure, but Pac was by far the better song maker...
Jojo Capone biggie > pac.
And dont call them ‘song makers’
@@jojocapone4861 you must be out your mind big was wayy better than pac when it came to making hit records big would've killed it better than pac fosho
This humble genius made some of the illest beats to ever grace a track.
TUPAC "TEMPTATIONS" BEST BEAT OF ALL TIME
Betty Williams throw ‘em the finga!!!
He also produced the "Holy Grail" of unreleased 2Pac songs, 'My Dyin' Day'.
Nah that was Live Squad.
I want more Interviews from Easy Mo OG he is a Legend
hell yeah what an interview
amazing Interview 🙏🏼

I love these untold stories VLAD KEEP THEM COMING!!! I want to hear all the untold stories they have and could you investigate the hot 97 incident more where people claim BIG called in.
Mr Cash big tray deee already spoke about that.and daz in recent vlad interviews.
If biggie has more music......when can we hear it...
I love the dough is my favorite track on that album. Mo Bee got skillz for real.
I first heard Mo Bee on that Miles Davis Doo Bop album!!! Before Big and PAC! He's so gifted and humble. Peace 2 the Gods!
He did a lot of hits for The Lost Boyz too.. This man a legendary producer
Love Mo beats tracks, he is definitely one of my favorite producers, Salute brother 💯💯
I wish I could get one of his beats to put my art on 💯💯💯💯
My dude easy mo bee!! so happy he's being interviewed and in the spotlight. Mo bee is the illest!
Biggie was the man ! One of the best story teller hip hop will ever see rest in peace to a great icon my idol THE NOTORIOUS !
This is why 2pac said that Biggie heard Me Against The World and this his music came out sounding like his!
+N.D. Graydon real talk!
bingo
even went after the producer PAC was using
Moe bee worked with biggie first idiot
On what track back that up idiot
They surely need to be released
this was dope
Still waiting 5 years later!
A seriously underrated producer
fuckkkk
both Easy Mo Bee and Biggie were utter geniuses
People always say this about artists, Michael Jackson, Prince, Biggie, etc but the reality is the reason its all unreleased is because most of it wasn't fit to release. The tracks that do end up leaking always sound like exactly that, they have potential but there's something missing. Basically a bunch of rough drafts.
That said, sure why not, i'd be down to hear a bunch of unreleased Biggie bars.
he looks like Evander Holyfield
Ok can we get those unreleased verses please?! We need more tracks from him all jokes aside. 🙏
The Warning and Going Back To Cali beat also 🔥🔥🔥🔥 plus this man worked with Miles Davis ... nuff said
so slept on should always be mentioned with the greats like dre premier pete rock and quik
Such an underrated producer...has a very down-to-earth vibe.
Imagine B.i.G. on “Temptations” or “Straight Ballin” 😮😬🔥💯
This man made incredible music 🎵
Him and Eric Sermon neck and neck ruclips.net/video/n4EFLlMUN1A/видео.html
Gotta hear them
Easy Moe Bee looks like actor DelRoy Lindo. One of my all time hip hop producers. Can't forget them joints he produced on the lost boys first album legal drug money.
Legendary producer. Salute!
Yooo, he gots to drop that shit pretty soon, biggie is a hell of a rapper
Flava In Ya Ear set it off
It's crazy how these legendary producers don't know that some of their OG songs version has been leaked. i have the "Me and My Bitch" and "What You Want" version he's talking about AND "Money, Hoes & Clothes" you can hear Biggie spit it on the freestyle video with Tupac recorded by Dream Hampton..
Release the FULL interview Vlad!!
How many knew "Biggie Smalls" was a character in a movie called "Let's Do It Again" that came out in the '70's? Sidney Poitier and Jimmie (JJ from Good TImes) Walker was in it. A guy named Calvin Lockhart played the Biggie Smalls character.
He first said a bunch, then said couple, and finally ended with 4 tracks. So is it a ton or 4 songs?
Pac was careless with his music. Rumor has it that Pac would accidently leave unreleased music in Rental cars & in Motel rooms
Yo moe bee man drop that shit..2Pac. The east cost west cost beef was over moe
Temptations go... Man always wanted to know the face behind that track and many other classics during the time. :)
he doesnt get enough credit for his work, guys a legend and humble as fuck
Great producer. He produced the best tracks on biggies first album
Yo, I REMEMBER.....there wasn’t a place New York that you could move and not hear Flava in ya ear...bus, train, street, everywhere. Mo Bee/Bad Boy held the city hostage.
Thank you from France for What you did
Easy Mo is So legendary and classic he Got a 1998 enyce shirt on in a 2015 interview .. clever and classic
Pacs...if i die tonight...one of my all time joints to vibe to when im feeling like i give zero fucks...masterfull cadance..delivery and alleration while riding over an insane easy mo bee beat....shits forever golden you cant help but to feel that shit.
To this day I don't think any producer's drums knock like Mo Bee's... Ready to die would not be a classic without him
meth wasn't the only feature on ready to die, reggae artist Diana king was on respect. but she is only credited in the album booklet. and i've heard the me and my bitch remix, and original version to dead wrong ,you can find it on you tube. mo bee is a very underrated producer, he's done hits for pac, biggie, craig mack, lost boyz, black panther soundtrack, etc,,,, I know big would've murdered those pac joints like if I die tonight or my block.
Damn he did machine gun funk too! Man he has so many classics
His voice is magnetic
That is the great Easy Mo Be....show some respect.
Much Respect Easy Moe Bee
Biggie still got shit? And I thought Tupac was a Studio Hermit
My guy easy mo bee needs to get his flowers ,already way passed over due💯
