I’ve made your vegan cinnamon rolls before and taken them to work. I didn’t tell anyone they were vegan because I’m pretty sure no one would eat them. Within a few minutes they were gone and no one could tell they were vegan. These are absolutely delicious. Well done ❤!
Ive been making your recipe for years, it truly is the best cinnamon bun vegan or not. They are always a hit. I like to add a little butter/ brown sugar and cinnamon to the bottom of the pan to caramelize the bottoms. Incredible.
Gotta be careful if you use Miyokos butter without warning people. I made my mom’s cookies using Miyokos butter and wasn’t thinking about allergies. My best friend is allergic to nuts (including cashews) and I forgot that the butter is made from cashews. Luckily it wasn’t an anaphylactic reaction 😅
Honestly, yes. Watching someone who isn't already really practiced at making bread make bread WOULD be great. Because usually when people make bread making videos you get the comment about "Oh, I know it seems really intimidating at first, but once you get used to it it's super easy!" And I'm sure that's true. But if we've never done it before, we don't have that confidence yet. Show me what it might look like that first time while it's still intimidatingly new. Let me see it work out even though maybe it looks like it won't, etc. THAT would actually alleviate my fears and help me feel less stressed in the moment if I decide to try it myself. Seeing your honest reactions (like here with the yeast and worrying about if it's going to rise or not) makes me feel so much more at ease about trying things, truly. Because it's a great reminder that uncertainty is normal, things can still work out even if they don't look perfect, and even if they don't you can just try again and it isn't the end of the world.
Helpful tip when working with yeast: A lot of times when yeasted baked goods don't rise, it's because the yeast has died. An easy way to make sure your yeast is still active is to leave it in the warm milk/sugar mix at the beginning for about 5 minutes (this is called blooming the yeast), and if it is foamy and frothy, then that means your yeast is still good and you can go on with the recipe! If it doesn't get foamy, then you can start over with new yeast before you waste more ingredients. Also, common reasons why yeast doesn't activate is that it is really old or the blooming liquid is not the right temp. A good way to know if you have the right temp is to put your finger in the liquid, and if it doesn't feel warmer or cooler than your finger, then you should be good to go!
my way of making a more waistline-friendly option is whole wheat flour @ 65% hydration (2/3 of the flour autolyzed at 100% hydration, then adding 100g dry flour), with the seasoned sugar "spread" being a mix of blitzed reconstistuted (and steamed) dates + ginger + cinnamon + blackstrap molasses + coconut cream
I vote for more baking videos. I like how the cinnamon rolls turned out. Plus you can now put your new food processor to good use. I'm actually looking to buy one as well. I want one with the removable blades though. Carefully considering which food processor to buy is a very adult experience.
One year I made vegan pumpkin pies with crumble topping and brought them to Thanksgiving dinner and everyone said it was the best pumpkin pie they ever tasted. Everyone was begging for the recipe and as soon as I said “tofu” THEY ALL GOT MAD😮 saying I cant do that to people…use tofu and not tell them. It was years ago and I still don’t understand?! FYI nobody died…😂
Bahahaha yeah sometimes ignorance is bliss but also I should think the flavor would speak for itself!! Wild how many people are still scared of tofu- many peeps just don't know how to use it! which was me before i went veg
I know you say you're not that into baking, but if you ever make these again, try adding cardamom to the dough-it’ll make them taste like Swedish cinnamon buns. It’s amazing, I promise!
Hello, Merle. I enjoy your videos. In the ones where you open a can of chickpeas, pour the aquafaba down the drain, and rinse them, there's always a few dismayed comments. Would you want to make a video where all the recipes use aquafaba?
I've never used a food processor to make dough. I bet that the blades wouldn't be good for building up the gluten...but of you are doing it by hand or in a mixer there is no need to worry about over working the dough. Bread/bun dough likes to be worked. I let mine "mix" for 8 minutes on my electric mixer. And I used to make bread as a job.
Definitely do more baking and btw you basically just made bread 😊just no cinnamon and brown sugar and no cutting the dough unless you're making dinner rolls 😊
Love our reigning vegan queen as always ❤❤❤. Gosh, Merle, you are too funny ahahaha lmao😅😅😅😅. Doughlene (?😅) is so lucky to have you as it's baking parent!!🎉 I'm glad she rose for ya! The puns are honestly EVERYTHING lmao😂😂😂. Loved the video, as always! Can't wait for the next one, so exciting to hear about the new place, can't wait to see it! As always, ciao for now!! ❤❤❤
I'd love to see you learn how to bake bread. However, as someone who has been baking bread (including sourdough) for years, the best way to learn is to do it with someone who is an experienced baker. If you try to do it on your own, you'll end up getting frustrated.
I share your anxiety when you question whether your yeast has died 😂 I’m an experienced baker and have been developing a cinnamon roll recipe for years, not vegan but ultra decadent and they are CALORIE bombs but turn out like a cross between a croissant and a cinnamon roll. 😋 I love watching people tackle baked goods they aren’t familiar with so I agree that it would be interesting to watch you bake more! 😊
My mind is working fast with this receipe!!! I want to try it!!! We can call sweet vegan lasagna! :D I was thinking also to fill the dough also with apples!!! What's your opinion?
These look amazing! I really want to make them for my niece, but she's sugar-free. She can do maple syrup, though. Do you think that'd be an ok swap out? Hope the move goes well!
Что бы там не говорили про отсутствие комплиментов в адрес конкретного мужчины, это не делает его настолько кретином, чтобы повестись на то, что говорит Габи. В фильмах такое часто

People can be so close minded! So what if they were vegan they weren’t poisoned🙄 Glad they liked them though.
Mix your brown sugar/ cinnamon filling into the 3/4 cup soften butter that way you can just spread the filling evenly on the dough.
OKAY SOMEONE IS THINKINGGGGG
If you put a jug of boiled water in the oven with the dough it will rise without switching the oven on. Works a treat
Omg i have never heard this but I’m *here* for it. I’ll give it a try!
Ive been making your recipe for years, it truly is the best cinnamon bun vegan or not. They are always a hit. I like to add a little butter/ brown sugar and cinnamon to the bottom of the pan to caramelize the bottoms. Incredible.
YUM! Cinnamon rolls are a favorite. Well done!
Thanks, Chef! I think you would LOVE these
My mouth is watering as. We. Speak. People would say, “you gotta give up everything being vegan.” I haven’t had to give up a damn thing.
EXACTLY ANGELA! These cinnamon rolls are the real dealio
🎯🎯🎯
Doughlene and Vincent Van Dough....I'm deceased 🤣 Also the puns at the end, absolute perfection lmao
OH MY GOSH that is actually such a great warning holy shit- that's scary!
Those of us who have been fans of yours since way back when during the buzzfeed days KNOW THESE CINNAMON ROLLS! I’m hyped! Thank you. Love ya

They look so good! I would definitely be interested in seeing you venture into more baking.

You should definitely embark on a bread journey! It's so worth it.
This. This is the cosy winter content I came to the internet for. So wholesome! ❤❤❤

Hahaha I love mine, it's the Ninja one linked in descrip - blades are removable and it comes with a dough blade!!

Why would they get mad?! What’s wrong with tofu you’d think you had given them poison or something🙄
I'm a terrible baker, but miss cinnamon rolls SO much, so I will be trying these 🙏thank you
Sending all the best luck for the move!!
what a treat!!! have a wonderful thanksgiving from across the pond, merle
I know you say you're not that into baking, but if you ever make these again, try adding cardamom to the dough-it’ll make them taste like Swedish cinnamon buns. It’s amazing, I promise!

I think this is a greeeeeat idea
Merle, What do you do with ends of the Cinnamon Rolls? Put them in a Waffle Iron?
Thank you for a wonderful year of your videos. May you, your family and all subscribers have a safe Thanksgiving 😊.

I need to try it❤
Please do!!!! you will be soooo happy
Proofing-wise; your french-door airfryer has a 'warm' function that should do the trick really nicely
Good job they look great

Can these be made the night before?
I’m not getting up at 3am to make these for breakfast at 6 when my kids wake up…
yay!
2:54 how can sugar be non vegan? Also, why would organic sugar mean that it is also vegan? I am confused
Sugar can be processed with animal bone char. I'm not 100% sure how it works, it's not done at all in my country with sugar.
@emmakatenotcake omg I ve never heard of that 😶
@@emmakatenotcake organic sugar could do the same!
16:31 uhm didn't you move into this place just a few months ago? did something happen that made you move again?
