I've never seen No Problem run that hard as he did against Carolina Crusher around the 16:30 mark. He almost stood it straight up and down over the second stack of cars. Rumor has it he was running an old Bigfoot motor.
The one thing that puzzles me to this very day is USA-1 not progressing. Fred Shafer, Gary Porter, Jack Willman, and Dennis Anderson all started the process just around the time Bigfoot 8 was being completed/near debuting. Being that Jasmer was an old drag racer he should’ve known light is fast. It still blows my mind he was so stubborn to not keep up with the times.
Yes. Anyway i respect the fact they used an original Silverado frame, keeping the truck much more real, but heavier and less competitive at the same time. Once monster trucks abandoned original frames and bodies, they stopped being "trucks". They gained performance but lost authenticity, and the very important brand identity. But you are right. This sport needed at the time more speed, agility and reliability.
Anyone have the list of the rollovers for USA-1 before this race? They are saying the race before was the 6th rollover. All I’ve ever known up to this point was the rollover in Louisville at the end of 88 and Buffalo earlier in the season, and of course the first week in Kalamazoo
One of the most remembered roll overs for me, King Krunch. I also remember every USA-1 roll over/wreck.
Same, that was a wild flip for the time and came away with minimal damage.

Nowadays, a cartwheel is an unexpected bonus in monster truck freestyle competitions, but what King Krunch got there was unintentional but awesome!
