I agree it's super sweet🥺 but I do want to point out that it is actually very common in Korean to refer to yourself in the third person (if you are older) as older sister (언니/누나), older brother (형/오빠), mom/dad (엄마/아빠) etc. It's the same when younger people talk to someone older: they don't address them with "you" but rather talk about them in the third person while using their "title". For example, if namjoon wanted to ask jin "What do you want to eat?", he would say "What does hyung (형) want to eat?" instead, even though he's directly talking to him. Sorry for over explaining haha ^^
It’s actually really normal for you to hear the younger members call anyone older than them hyung including Suga but the subtitles never include “hyung” in official content or they’ll just replace the word hyung with the members name in the subs when someone says it so that’s why it feels like they don’t say it but they do!
@@peachysaiyan this is actually can cause some confusion, because people who do official English subs not always do this right. Like during last FESTA dinner party Jimin talked to Yoongi about wanting him on his song as a collab, and someone said something along the lines "you two should collab" and Jimin answered "I already asked hyung (Yoongi) about it", but in subs it was "I already asked Jin about it" as for some reason translator assumed Jimin meant Jin-hyung instead of Yoongi-hyung. So it could be interpreted as Jimin was going to do song with Jin and not Yoongi.

it's actually really interesting when you think about bangtan's family and how some of the members have younger siblings compared to older and how that relates back to how they act in bts. jin is the youngest in his family which is why he often seems like the fake maknae! yoongi, jungkook, and hobi are all younger siblings. jimin is an older brother so that explains why he's always taking care of the other members and namjoon has even said that he feels like jimin acts the oldest sometimes. namjoon is an older sibling as well !
The fact that they are 3 months apart since jin was born end of 1992 and suga early 1993 Like if jin mom give birth after 26 days jin would be 93 liner 😂😭 😂😂😂

At the same time hobi and namjoon are 7 months apart in age but because they were both born in 1994, namjoon doesn't call hobi hyung)

(Also, just an appreciation for Jin's laugh at 12:06.) BUT ANYWAY, this video is about Yoongi and Jin's relationship which is just delightful to explore. What really gets my cute aggression going is when Yoongi calls Jin "hyungie" instead of just "hyung". So sweet!!! And yeah, it's normal to call your elder hyung, because it's an honorific form of speech. Kind of like how we use Sir and Ma'am (except of course, hyung can be used for much younger people than sir or ma'am) "Hyungie" is kind of the informal or familiar or endearing version of "Hyung". So, in front of audiences or the public, they would use the more formal version of Hyung usually. Also: about the pink fuzzy hoodie....back then, they would all use the same room/rooms to do vlives, and so it's not Yoongi's room/chair, it's just a random room at the company building. Someone (presumably Jin) left it there by accident.
@@peachysaiyan this is unfortunately misinformation. the cutie form of hyung would be hyung-ah which is what little boys could call their big brothers/older male friends. if it sounds like they’re saying hyung-ie it’s apart of how they say “hyung is” it’s not aegyo/cutie speak. it’s just how the language is structured, although to us non-native speakers, it sounds extremely cute i agree😅

And you also ask what oppa means, this is when a girl that is younger than a boy, she has to refer to them as oppa instead of hyung.
It is indeed completely normal for Yoongi to call Jin "hyung" all the time. It's special only because, as the second eldest, Yoongi only has one hyung in BTS Sin is Suga + Jin Taegi is Taehyung + Yoongi Sope is Suga + j-hope
SIN - Suga/Jin TAEGI - Taehyung/Yoongi SOPE - Suga/j-hope And i bet you still haven't heard of MINIMONI and 2SEOK 😁 Anyway, Jin and Yoongi is one of my fave duo. Their wholesome bond makes them the eternal roommates.
if you're ever wondering who's speaking, pay attention to the emojis. jin is the hamster, namjoon a koala, yoongi a cat, j-hope a squirrel, jimin is baby chick, tae is either a tiger or bear, and jungkook is a bunny. armys use it as shorthand when doing subs and other things so we know who's they're subbing so their names don't have to be typed out every time. idk if you had noticed that the emojis have been used in many vids you've reacted to. there's reasons why each member has a specific one. like, jungkook is said to have a bunny smile, therefore, bunny lol
Tbh Suga calling Jin HYUNG is totally normal.. specially in Asian culture.. you are taught since you are very young how to properly call someone like HYUNG, OPPA, UNNIE, NOONA (KOREA) so it's really not a big deal.. Army just find it "cute"
OMG, I missed that pink fleece! Jin left it in the studio where everyone did their lives for MONTHS and it just kept showing up on the back of that chair. I think it even showed up in a TXT live at one point. 😂 I was kind of sad when they moved out of that building and we just didn't see the pink fleece again. 😭
It would be disrespectful of Yoongi not to use "hyung," but it feels sweet and rare since he's the only member he has to call that. I also find it super cute when Jungkook will just call out "hyung" with no name and all the members in the area will turn and look because he calls everyone that. he's their baby bro. I don't know if there's a compilation, but it's just my personal favorite thing. with one word everyone will turn to JK and then once he asks or tells the thing he wanted to the specific person the rest just turn back
Take note of the emojis used in all these compilation videos when the members are talking. In case you don't really recognize who is talking but you can see in the subtitles who is talking. 🐨 koala = Namjoon 🐹 hamster = Jin (He has an another animal representing him, Alpaca. Like RJ, a character he created for BT21 which sells out the fastest in the merchline among all the members. In compilation a 🐹 hamster emoji is used.) 🐱 cat = Yoongi 🐿 squirrel = Hobi (He also has an another animal representing him, a horse) 🐣 baby chick = Jimin (He also has another animal representing him, a calico cat, which is usually represented to be 99% female so him being a calico cat as male is unique and it fits him as well) 🐯/🐻 Tiger or bear = Taehyung (there is a serious debate on this in the fandom and even Tae has joined this debate. One monent he is like a tiger and another he is like cuddle bear. But in compilation video 🐯 tiger is the one being used all the time.) 🐰 bunny = Jungkook
Hyung is an absolute norm between friends. If you don't use it to address your older friend (and you are both men), you are being rude and disrespectful. So all of them use it not only in public, but in private too. And with their real older brothers too (like Yoongi calls his older brother hyung too). But you should be like quite close to be able to use it. Hyung - formal form, hyungnim - very formal form, hyungnie - informal endearing form Younger man to older man - hyung. Younger man to older woman - noona. Younger woman to older man - oppa. Younger woman to older woman - eonni/onni. I think the only time you can drop this honorifics is if you're in romantic relationships, but nowadays even people in relationships not always do this, because these terms became kinda s*xualised, which I find quite disturbing, because it's really mean sister/brother.
I think the only reason we point it out as a big deal is bc Suga is the second eldest. So the only person he can call hyung among the members is Jin. And it’s just cute 💜
Dunno if you look at the comments, or if maybe your patreon chat has already told you, but Sope is Suga+(J)-hope, and Taegi is Taehyung+Yoongi. Others you might not know: Namgi = Namjoon+Yoongi Taejin = Taehyung+Jin Minimoni = Jimin+Rapmon (aka RM aka Namjoon) Taejoon/Vmon = Taehyung/V+Namjoon/Rapmon
I think it'd be actually "rude" to call an older member just by their name, so the younger ones always have to use hyung. It's just funny to hear it from yoongi because he's just 3 months younger plus it shows his "younger brother side" we don't see with the other members. Plus he sometimes call Jin "hyungie" which is a cuter and more affectionate version of just hyung lol
the cutie form of hyung would be hyung-ah which is what little boys could call their big brothers. if it sounds like they’re saying hyung-ie it’s apart of how they say “hyung is” it’s not aegyo, it’s just the language. this seems like a fandom wide misunderstanding for some reason
@@whaliensuperstar oh I always thought they used the hyung-ie like they say Jungkookie or Jiminie, etc. Never took it as aegyo tho, just another affectionate way of saying it. Thank you for letting me know tho! 😊
4:17 no, of course not. If Yoongi addresses him _without_ saying hyung then Jin will react because that would be disrespectful. You use hyung to an older person. It's rude not to. It's not cute or special when you have a close person who is 1 or more year older in birth year to call them hyung, that is what is normal. It's not normal to not say hyung when addressing someone born the year before or even older than that. We find it "cute" because it's so rare to hear Yoongi say hyung since he is the second oldest and it's cute that he gets to be younger brother in one case but him saying hyung is just normal. I hope this makes sense I've left 3 long comments now (i think) for you explaining honorifics and banmal vs formal speech in Korean. If you find those previous comments I think you'll understand even better.
In Korean age Jin is one year older. In Korean age you turn one year older January 1st every year (and you count your birth year into your age). They might just be 3 months apart but it's different years, Jin 1992 and Yoongi 1993. Therefore Yoongi should call Jin hyung. Hobi is born 7 months before RM but they are both born the same year (1994) so they are the same age. RM does not call Hobi hyung.
I do not speak Korean, but from what I've heard a lot the BTS Members talk quite formal to each other. So it would be unpolite to say the first name without special endings and/or hyung. That it is why they call each other like Jiminsii etc. In my language it sounds like a cute way off calling someone. But this (as far as I know) is a polite way.
"Younger hyungs"? hehehe In Jin's case that kinda works, but: Younger sibling = Dongsaeng (동생). Little brother = namdongsaeng. Little sister = yeodongsaeng.
Maybe because you didn’t pay attention but Yoongi or any member never call jin without hyung 😊as Asian myself is something really normal the opposite will be strange
Suga always addresses Jin as hyung it’s just that in Eng subtitles they don’t put that they just use the names even when members use hyung while addressing him -it’s the culture to call older guys your close with as hyung -you don’t use names
Hey, Jin's first album "Happy" is coming out on Nov 15th. Please react his title track "Running Wild" and his album songs. Thanks for your sincere reactions. You got a new subscriber ❤
And Jk calls yoongi as "grandpa" 😂 he himself nicknamed him as a "grandpa" Jin's only "Yoongi hyung" It's so funny and hilarious that yoongi calls Jin as "Jin hyung" despite who's just 3 months younger than Jin. Jinyoon=Jin + Yoongi are the ex roommates, the same ages buddies who're only 3 months apart from each other. RM never calls JH as his hyung who's 6/7 months older than RM
Minimoni= Jimin (Mini) +Namjoon(Moni) Sope= Suga +hOPE Taegi= Taehyung + Yoongi (SUga) VMON=Taehyung +Namjoon .... Those names are the combination of their names
The younger members always use hyung. They don’t call each other by first name only. When the younger members don’t use hyung, it’s when they’re being silly and teasing each other for ex. JK calling Yoongi just “YOONGI”. They don’t use hyung when doing american interviews in english cos hyung doesn’t translate well in english, otherwise the subtitles or translation will be “Jin older brother” or “Yoongi older brother”. If they don’t use hyung, it will be really disrespectful for them.

if you're ever wondering who's speaking, pay attention to the emojis. jin is the hamster, namjoon a koala, yoongi a cat, j-hope a squirrel, jimin is baby chick, tae is either a tiger or bear, and jungkook is a bunny. armys use it as shorthand when doing subs and other things so we know who's they're subbing so their names don't have to be typed out every time. idk if you had noticed that the emojis have been used in many vids you've reacted to. there's reasons why each member has a specific one. like, jungkook is said to have a bunny smile, therefore, bunny lol
Oh my god, i was watching your fire reaction and that hyped me up! And now this vid gonna melt me 🫠✨
SOPE are my husbands!!! Hahaha the Otsukare duo. Hahahah Taegi yeah its Tae and Yoongi
Peachy we need more yoongi videos
Please reaction to Jin‘ happy ‘ highlight medley please peachy
Adorable 😍
The recent dou we get is Tape😅
If i remember correctly, jin leaves the tags on his clothes because its 'true hip-hop' lmao
I don't know if there's a compilation, but it's just my personal favorite thing. with one word everyone will turn to JK and then once he asks or tells the thing he wanted to the specific person the rest just turn back
Yoongi calls him 'hyung' and he is younger than Jin for less than three months 😂
Take note of the emojis used in all these compilation videos when the members are talking. In case you don't really recognize who is talking but you can see in the subtitles who is talking.
🐨 koala = Namjoon
🐹 hamster = Jin (He has an another animal representing him, Alpaca. Like RJ, a character he created for BT21 which sells out the fastest in the merchline among all the members. In compilation a 🐹 hamster emoji is used.)
🐱 cat = Yoongi
🐿 squirrel = Hobi (He also has an another animal representing him, a horse)
🐣 baby chick = Jimin (He also has another animal representing him, a calico cat, which is usually represented to be 99% female so him being a calico cat as male is unique and it fits him as well)
🐯/🐻 Tiger or bear = Taehyung (there is a serious debate on this in the fandom and even Tae has joined this debate. One monent he is like a tiger and another he is like cuddle bear. But in compilation video 🐯 tiger is the one being used all the time.)
🐰 bunny = Jungkook
Ohhhh girl you NEEEED TO REACT TO SOPE! These two are soooo cute together 😁
That’s Asian way to call older brother. In the bangtang younger line they have many hyung but yoongi has only one hyung is Jin.
It’s funny because Jin is only 3 months older than Suga.
Hyung - formal form, hyungnim - very formal form, hyungnie - informal endearing form
Younger man to older man - hyung.
Yoongi marry me saga reaction
I think the only reason we point it out as a big deal is bc Suga is the second eldest. So the only person he can call hyung among the members is Jin. And it’s just cute 💜
Dunno if you look at the comments, or if maybe your patreon chat has already told you, but Sope is Suga+(J)-hope, and Taegi is Taehyung+Yoongi.
Others you might not know:
Namgi = Namjoon+Yoongi
Taejin = Taehyung+Jin
Minimoni = Jimin+Rapmon (aka RM aka Namjoon)
Taejoon/Vmon = Taehyung/V+Namjoon/Rapmon
Taegi= Tae and Yoongi
Sope= Suga and Jhope
Vope,TaeHope,Jaehyung=V and Jhope
Sin💜
If you find those previous comments I think you'll understand even better.
it's just not often added in subtitles. if you listen you hear them always use honorifics, it's how you speak in Korean.
If I'm not mistaken... Jin keep tags from his garments because he wants to pass it on to his future kids especially the luxury brands..
You should check out all seven of the members habits videos
I do not speak Korean, but from what I've heard a lot the BTS Members talk quite formal to each other. So it would be unpolite to say the first name without special endings and/or hyung.
That it is why they call each other like Jiminsii etc. In my language it sounds like a cute way off calling someone. But this (as far as I know) is a polite way.
Please react to Jin " YOURS" ost please please please....
Army vote for RM and J-hope for MAMA 2024 please V,JK and Jimin are already in the top 10💜💜💜
Funny thing is Jin is the youngest in his family 😂 but eldest in BTS
"Younger hyungs"? hehehe In Jin's case that kinda works, but: Younger sibling = Dongsaeng (동생). Little brother = namdongsaeng. Little sister = yeodongsaeng.
SIN- Suga and Jin
Jin graduated from Konkuk University major in film making
14:21 it's hip-hop culture. you're supposed to leave the tags on

Jimin is my bias and his deep voice is my weakness
The younger members always use hyung. They don’t call each other by first name only. When the younger members don’t use hyung, it’s when they’re being silly and teasing each other for ex. JK calling Yoongi just “YOONGI”. They don’t use hyung when doing american interviews in english cos hyung doesn’t translate well in english, otherwise the subtitles or translation will be “Jin older brother” or “Yoongi older brother”. If they don’t use hyung, it will be really disrespectful for them.
