Important info: I started taking nicotinamide 500mg in February 22. In spring 23 I maybe noticed I was struggling to empty bladder at night, but didn’t think much of it.
In august 23 I upped the dosage to 3000mg a day. After two weeks- I went into urine retention and had to have a catheter fitted for 2 weeks. Scans/bloods/samples all came back fine.
In October I started retaking nicotinamide 3000mg a day, but was more cautious on the times taken. After two weeks I started to have extreme difficulty passing urine- this lasted for around 6-8 weeks. Both times I had a sweet metallic taste in my mouth.
In February this year I started retaking niacin 250mg tablets, 1000mg a day, after just 4 days, on a lower dosage, I started to have difficulty passing urine, along with metallic taste. Again this lasted for 2 Weeks.
    Incredibly frustrating!
I can only describe it as a feeling of wanting to go for a pee, but nothing comes out. And I could only go mostly by straining sitting down.

Sorry to hear. But did you had improvment with glaucoma? As this the reason you took it at first place.

Thanks for presenting this study. We need strategies that improve our optic nerve health, not just eye pressure. So this helps.

The study was using a specific form of B3. Nicotinamide.

the medical research field needs more instinct-guided research rather than doctrine-guided research

The primary benefit is dilation of blood vessels. That gets more blood to the eye and optic nerve which helps. L-Citrulline Maleate is far better with no side effects. It’s on Amazon. It lowers blood pressure too.

The interwiued seems more concerned with the stablshed procedures than a cure for glaucoma

Of course, lots of money in drops and treatments. Almost nothing in B3 Nicotinamide.

What about ALA at 150 mg per day?
