- Video of a Cessna 310Q flight from Palatka, FL (28J near Jacksonville, FL) to Charleston, SC (KCHS). This flight occurred on 3 April 2018 and had some significant weather in the Florida area at the onset of the flight. Practiced an instrument approach RNAV 21 VTF into Charleston, SC. Fly along on this general aviation flight with ATC calls and intermittent commentary. Thanks for watching!!
I LOVE YOUR DISTRACTIONS.
Another great vid, so much fun to watch. You never hotdog it. Just sit back and enjoy the flight. Thanx dude.
Closing in on getting a 310, taking my time to find the right one. It will be a mid to late 50's model. BTW, I fly those Dream Lifters, great catch!
Dave, thank for watching. And you will enjoy flying the 310. It is a wonderful bird to hand fly. The 58, 59 and 60s (A and B models) are considered classics and have great sight lines. If I can be of help, just let me know. Stay safe and hope to see you soon on the ramp. Cheers!!
@@billinga I was just in 28J for the car and airshow last weekend. I'm up at HEG. We chatted last year on YT about 310's. I have looked at older Barons, Travelair, C-320's, Aztecs, its definitely going to be a 310. And for some reason, the straight tail tuna tank is calling my name. I'm an A&P, so if I find the right airplane, hopefully it will go easy on me for maintenance. The search goes on.
@@David-ty1xz I certainly think the 310A/B are great birds. It is a challenge to find a non-project one as the best are kept close and flying. Good ones do come to market and you will be successful. Are you a member of Twin Cessna Flyer (www.twincessna.org/). If not, I encourage you to join. Lots of great information and leads on sales. Also, if you have not seen, here is a video from last year on 310 ownership. (ruclips.net/video/5mO23NYMt_I/видео.html)
Always enjoy riding along with you Arthur. You are the consummate professional! Always enjoy your narration and dialogue. Very nicely flown RNAV APPR. to 21 and a perfect landing as a bonus! You seems to really enjoy flying the 310!
James, thanks for watching these videos. I still ponder their utility but if other pilots and enthusiasts like them, so be it. I do enjoy the 310. And with over 1K hours in it, it is very comfortable. I have to guard against a complacency that comes with familiarity. Thanks again and stay safe.
It's 4:48 PM on Friday (8 Feb 2019) and I'm on Flightradar24 following your flight out of Manassas. You are at 5,900 feet and 155 knots groundspeed. So cool.
Wow, that is cool. Thanks for the follow. Will have that video up shortly. Strong headwinds and some turbulence for that flight. Stay safe!!
Wow! Great landing. Love the Dream Lifter! Thanks, Mr. Billingsley!
First time viewer. Your editing of this flight made it very enjoyable..I'll be watching again
Thanks for watching and glad that these videos are of interest.
Great views from different angles is great and I love the most is looking over your approach procedures at the beginning ,
Really enjoy flying with you. Thanks for taking me along!!
Love your 310 and that landing was sweet!
Great pair of videos, thank you for sharing and thanks for your help with my questions (low hours private..)
Keep the questions coming. Glad to help and I hope these videos are of use. Stay safe !!
Hi Art, I always enjoy your videos. Having the audio and flight data info is great. You seem to fly a lot. Is it mostly for business or pleasure?
Teddy, these days, flying is to support business pursuits. About 300 hours a year.
billinga Hope business is going good! I’m not instrument rated (and likely never will be) but I really enjoy watching pros like yourself discuss and fly approaches.
Another great video.
Thank You Sir...
Thank you
Hi Just would like to thank you for your C310 R videos. I have learned a lot. I just fly sims C182, Piper Comache 250 and with the C310R, but have many years in flying squadrons.Curious, what's your military flight experience. Thanks appreciate it. Mike, USAF Ret
Mike, thank you and thank you for your service. I am a former Naval officer, (SWO/EDO) non flying career. My Navy experience is surface warfare (ships/subs/carriers), engineering and acquisition. Started flying GA in 1979 at Showalter in Orlando, FL. What sims are you using? I was into X-Plane some years ago. Cheers!!
@15:27 did you find the controller to request you descend to 1600 feet strange given that the final approach fix on the approach (AKETE) is shown not below 1700 feet ?
Yes, the controllers sometimes forget the request of practice RNAV and give instructions for the visual instead. That is why I flew 2000 until glideslope capture and followed the glideslope/localizer to the runway. Good catch as I did not explain in the video. Thanks again for watching and the feedback.
Nice Ride Art...Block to Block ';-)
What a pleasure, thanks much. Most men your/our age are dutiful nannies at the behest of their fat ugly old wives having completely given up on life. Instead you are flying twins and Oracle consulting for the USN, thats fantastic ; good God what a positive inspiration!
See you soon for the next IFR flight
Thanks Billinga
VERY NICE .....:)
Is that a EDM 700 or 800 ? I'll be flying a 182 that the owner had installed to learn how to use it and I always love the old school EGT gauge
That is the EDM 760 and it takes a couple of flight hours to get acquainted with presentation and controls. Afterwards, all good. The individual cylinder senders sometimes go high and right but backup analog gauges provide confirming information when needed.
Hi Arthur, do you think of flying north of the border someday?
Yes, the aviation group SouthEast Aviators (facebook.com/seaviators/), held a fly-in to Toronto last year and I expect another later in the summer. Are you based in Canada?
yep.. near css3
Dream lifter nice!
How do you like your Aspen Display?
Love it. My only gripe is that I would like larger numbers for these aging eyes. LOL. But it is great. Thanks for watching!!
Are you a CFI?
Thanks for watching. But no, not a CFI. Are you looking for instruction?
@@billinga Yes sort of. Maybe informally at first.
@@lubacotemobile What is your general location/city? I know many CFIs that may be able to assist.
@@billingaI am 40 min from RDU. I am 15 min from Burlington-Alamance in NC. I bought a discovery flight back in February of this year but have not taken yet.
@@lubacotemobile I fly into KBUY Burlington frequently and would be happy to chat on aviation. Here is one video relating ruclips.net/video/lrKB9p4DgBc/видео.html
