I grew up on He Man and was completely into it by She Ra and when I heard it was Jared Leto I thought oh no. I honestly don't know who could pull off Skeletor's voice.
Nicholas is an amazing actor! He really transforms into every character he plays. His most famous films are red white and royal blue and bottoms. I recommend both!
@Commander_Shepard. Wdym 15 years ago. It's a reference to 9/11 and that was 25 years ago. and yeah, i get the reference, i'm just saying it doesn't make sense.
He looks quite a bit like Marc Singer in *The Beastmaster,* which is the right way to go for He-Man's look. You can't have super-huge bodybuilder proportions when you have to sword-fight, do acrobatics and gymnastics, and do unarmed combat. Lithe with lots of muscle definition is what He-Man would have to be in real life to do what he does, and visually they got it right here.
That was my true introduction to Thundercats as someone born in the late 90s and watching a lot of Cartoon Network growing up (I knew of the OG but never had access to it). I was bummed when it got cancelled
You know, I wasn't very certain about Adam being in our real world. But then I did remember that in lore (not sure if changed at this point) that Adam's mom did came from Earth to Eternia when she crashed landed there and met Adam's father. Still a bit divided, but honestly seems extremly interesting. Also, directed by Travis Knight, who did Bumblebee, which remains one of my fav Transformers movies, so does make me more interested to see.
@BaconNukeYeah, I do think the most recent time that bit of lore was brought up again was in the Netflix series (Revelation, I think?) cause she piloted a ship in the final battle. It's usualy not much talked about it, I suppose, but then again Eternia is an actual planet out there, not a magical dimension
@lordyoda9382Yeah, I do saw a scene of Beast Man in our world, but I can imagine he followed Teela (idk if I wrote her name right) there cause she went to get Adam.
IF YOU GREW UP IN THE 80S....you will know He-Man is fun and did not take itself seriously. LOVED 1980S FLASH GORDAN !!! ( LOVE FLASH GORDAN AND QUEEN SOUNDTRACK !!!)
@OneOfInfiniteMonkeys though, to be fair, from the original cartoon, his mother was an Earth astronaut...and they seem to be leaning into that, so I'll see where they go with this.
I love that Annie from Community is playing Evil-Lyn in this, I bet she will be amazing. I'm super hyped for this, the director is really good, he made Kubo and the Two Strings and Bumblebee.
46 years old and growing up I both both played or collected pretty much every action figure toys you can name that came out in the 80s-90s and it allllll started with He-Man. G.I. Joe(3 inch) ended up being my favorite toy to play with because I liked how they were made and were more flexible. He-Man cartoon was my favorite action hero cartoon early on until I started getting into comics and superheroes. But He-Man is where it all started and ill always remember those times.
Just based on the trailer it kinda looks like it has the Aquaman story line. Main character is in the real world but royalty from a secret hidden world they don’t know or care about. Female character comes from secret world to convince main character to return to secret world. Main character has to earn the most powerful weapon to defeat villain with training from trusted mentor side character. I like the first Aquaman movie so hopeful for this. Also so happy to see Fist-O in the trailer!
Can't say it was one of my faves. I watched most of it back when it was but dropped off during the second season cos the snakemen thing bored me. I tried watching it from start a couple years ago and I stopped after ten episodes. it's fine. Just I prefer Revelation/Revolution for a more 'mature' MotU and the 80s show for the childhood nostalgic goofiness.
I'm bummed out that we didn't see him. Kevin Smith does not like Orko. I hope this movie doesn't feel the same way. I was really young for this property, so Orko appealed to me. I've heard that people that were really young for the Star Wars prequels really fondly remember Jar Jar Binks. Orko is no Jar Jar, thought! Although, its got the same screw up vibes.
@puzzud Yeah, I was also young when watching it way back when, so Orko clicked for me as well and I didn't ever really get why he bothered people so much.
It looks like they use the same wormhole rainbow effect from the episode where the astronauts travel to Eternia and recognize Adam's mom as a lost astronaut from Earth.
not enough people have been talking about that last part where adam and skeeltor are going at it and there is that perfectly timed slow-motion and vfx. If that is what the fight scenes for the movie are gonna be like, then holy hell we are in for a treat.
Fans have pointed out that Orko is missing from the trailer. Might the doorbell in the nerd shop be a subtle reference to him? Orko’s magic is usually signaled by a small ringing sound. Is it possible that he found the sword on Earth?
I grew up with Heman and im excited for this. But the 80s classic that needs to make a comeback is freaking BRAVESTARR! that would slap with this visual style.
This is just an trailer. But i think we'll have an origin story of Queen Marlena crash landing in eternia and Keldor turning into skeletor in the first few minutes of the film that builds up and explains the conflict they have which leads to how prince adam as child gets transported to earth......
Dude thought this was just one of those fan made trailers at first but this does look good. Interesting take on He-Man's origins. I think we all wanted to see Adam on earth in the 80's cartoon at some point
Have y'all seen the Dolph Lundgren live-action one? It's cheesy, but I actually think it's massively underrated and is my benchmark of expectation for this one.😅
It had a hell of a troubled shoot. They literally had to break in to the studio to finish filming. That is why the finale sequence is so dark on the set. The studio went under.
Its garbage, it killed the franchise for years. Same will happen with this Movie because they reproduced both mistakes from the Old Movie: Earth in it and no Orko in sight!
@DarylMCDeathEarth will likely be in it for a short time and then it moves to Eternia. Earth being there isn't a bad thing depending how it's handled. 30 mins on earth would be fine. Yes the 80s movie isn't great but nostalgia holds it close to people's hearts. I adored it as a kid, it was He-Man in live action. Never watched MoU, but my dad loved it as a kid. He did introduce me to Thundercats so the 2011 Thundercats show mention made me so happy cause that was MY Thundercats. Im still pissed it was cancelled when it was.
This generation NEEDS to see how incredible the Thundercats are! I am begging for a new cartoon and even a live action movie like this one. This movie will be a banger.
I think instead of new, they need to frickin’ finish the 2011 series! I’ve been dying to see how it ends forever! Seriously instead of making a new series they probably won’t finish, finish one they haven’t yet, even the original!
The original 80's Skeletor is the legendary Alan Oppenheimer who also voiced Falkor in The Neverending Story and voices in Transformers, Ducktales, amongst many, many animated tv shows
Cool. he's also an alleged abuser of women and minors with 20 years of problematic behavior (and even his own creepy island where he walks about in white robes like jesus and has hundreds of his fans, also clad in white, idolise him). And currently has allegations from 9 different women, some of whom claim they were minors.
Last few months I’ve been watching the original cartoon He-Man my childhood favorite show. It’s awesome. As I’m older now watching it there are very funny He-Man one liners. The robot is Roboto
Nicholas Galitzine is the prince from Red, White & Royal Blue, the sequel (Red, White & Royal Wedding) of which is filming now. He was also that idiot Jeff in Bottoms.
If the movie has an end credits scene with He-Man addressing the audience with a moral lesson, I will be absolutely thrilled.
Or even just do that as part of the promotional advertising for the movie
I’d also accept an end credit scene teasing she-ra
@b3yourself91 - I don't know where you'd find a live actress who could live up to She-Ra, with top-notch body and a voice to match.
@b3yourself91 Queen Marlena: "Adam, what I haven't tell you is... there is another..."
Or Skeletor saying "Until we meet again!"
Erics face after seeing Jared Leto lol
I grew up on He Man and was completely into it by She Ra and when I heard it was Jared Leto I thought oh no. I honestly don't know who could pull off Skeletor's voice.
@geekygirlstreaming I mean if we are just talking voice. Mark Hamill did great in the animated revival
@ObligedUniform The distance between Mark Hamill and Jared Leto is a gulf wider than the one between heaven and hell.
As long as I can pretend he isn't there, I'm good, lol
'It's Skellin' Time"
😂😂 it’s funny seeing eric’s mood change a bit after seeing it’s Jared Leto
@Vengeance041 Nope. He is a giant tool.
@Vengeance041 innocent of what
Understandable response. Felt exactly the same
a bit is a understatement
He better just be the body and not speak at all 😅
Nicholas is an amazing actor! He really transforms into every character he plays. His most famous films are red white and royal blue and bottoms. I recommend both!
I knew him first from Handsome Devil, so I'm very hopeful on the action scenes!
He's great! and seeing how much he bulked for the role is crazy!
15:27 “A Jared Leto has hit the second franchise”
He has been in a lot of bad movies, but it's rarely him acting poorly that's the problem. But ex he was perfect in Bladerunner 2049
Second? He was the Joker, Morbius, he was in that new Tron: Movie and now this.
@shadowcat1606 It's a reference to a thing that happened 15 or so years ago. Don't worry about it.
@Commander_Shepard. Wdym 15 years ago. It's a reference to 9/11 and that was 25 years ago.
and yeah, i get the reference, i'm just saying it doesn't make sense.
@shadowcat1606 Oh right, I was thinking about a different tower. But I'm glad you finally realised the reference.
I really love that Nicholas Galitzine looks healthy buff and not water deprived buff in this! 💪🏼
I HAVE THE POWER!
He supposed to be holding the sword in front of him with both hands when he says that
I got chills.
Iconic!
@byanymeans8309 yeah but in the actual movie he might be saying it
I hope this is like a Dungeons & Dragons and surprises us. I like the visuals and how Adam and Skeletor look so far.
Skeletor looks terrible to me. Texturally, he looks nothing like a skull. He looks like he was a crafts project.
yeah this skeletor has an actual skull-face instead of how they did it in the first live action version 😄
Yeah... because people saying wow to CGI faking an entire world is amazing these days
So happy to hear someone else speak positively about the 2011 Thundercats. I loved that reboot series.
How did I miss this?
i wish it would have gotten a second season.
I wish I'd liked it more than I did but it took too much out of what I enjoyed and related to in the original so didn't click for me.
That was my true introduction to Thundercats as someone born in the late 90s and watching a lot of Cartoon Network growing up (I knew of the OG but never had access to it). I was bummed when it got cancelled
Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn is absolutely inspired casting
Aw hell… crush reactivated.
Now we need Biker mice from mars
that would be bonkers, I approve!
There needs to be a "What's up" song cameo somewhere!!
Cool to see that Heimdall is back to Asgard and with a new suit
now i would love a reaction to Bottoms if they want to get a little familiar with Nicholas Galitzine's work 😂
I love that on earth Adam has his mom's surname of Glenn. Queen Marlena was originally a Nasa astronaut who was lost in space.
Okay I didn't know that about the lore.. so at least they aren't fully pulling it out of nowhere..
Looking at the trailer it seems they are mostly going to be in Eternia.
@lordyoda9382Yeah, I do saw a scene of Beast Man in our world, but I can imagine he followed Teela (idk if I wrote her name right) there cause she went to get Adam.
At least he actually was on Eternia as a kid, seems like he was sent away because Skeletor tried to kill him.
7:45 - The Robot ally is a He-Man character known as … Roboto. 😮😊
My fave show of my childhood.❤
I am shocked at how fun this looks.
IF YOU GREW UP IN THE 80S....you will know He-Man is fun and did not take itself seriously. LOVED 1980S FLASH GORDAN !!! ( LOVE FLASH GORDAN AND QUEEN SOUNDTRACK !!!)
This actually looks very fun 😂
@boombasett6038 If you grew up in the 80s, you also know He-Man and earth don't mix.
@OneOfInfiniteMonkeysbecause of Dolph Lundgren?
@OneOfInfiniteMonkeys though, to be fair, from the original cartoon, his mother was an Earth astronaut...and they seem to be leaning into that, so I'll see where they go with this.
Now we just need a live-action Thundercats
Hoooooo!!!!!!!!!
THUNDER!
Yeah but it needs done right. We don't need a Sonic the Hedgehog or Cats situation with the CGI
The director of Bumblebee wants to make one. As long as they do humanoid cats better than Cats, I’m happy.
@swimtastic645THINDER!!!!
haha hope they change metro goldwyn mayer lion to battle cat for the intro
I Have The Power!!
Dolph Lundgten is He-man back on a date 1987
It is Idris as man at arms. plus its Kristen wigg as voice of Roboto
Domo Aregato, Mrs. Roboto?
I love that Annie from Community is playing Evil-Lyn in this, I bet she will be amazing.
I'm super hyped for this, the director is really good, he made Kubo and the Two Strings and Bumblebee.
Annie IS pretty Young
We're trying Not to sexualize her
She's not just Annie from Community. Put some respect on Alison Brie's name lol
@c.decker3046Well, I know that, but Community is my favorite sitcom of all time and she will always be Annie to me.
Alison Brie is Evil-Lyn?! I never realised I wanted that!
This looks so good !
Skeletor better say UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN 😅
how does Jared Leto keep getting work, this is insane
He has to be the one paying to be in these movies and not getting paid himself lol
honestly though
I'm guessing it's because he keeps sending dead rats and used condoms to industry execs, and they're just afraid of him
My guess is he has a lot of dirt on some powerful people in Hollywood.
The wee golden man probs
I have waited since 1987 for this film
This good be really, really fun.
You need to do a Get High and react to the 1987 Masters of the Universe
46 years old and growing up I both both played or collected pretty much every action figure toys you can name that came out in the 80s-90s and it allllll started with He-Man. G.I. Joe(3 inch) ended up being my favorite toy to play with because I liked how they were made and were more flexible. He-Man cartoon was my favorite action hero cartoon early on until I started getting into comics and superheroes. But He-Man is where it all started and ill always remember those times.
I want to see their reaction to who is playing Evil-Lyn.
Thunder Cats live action has begun the casting phase
Skeletor in the first Masters of the Universe was played by Frank Langella.
High & dry for the 1987 he-man movie please
waiting patiently for that wave squadron upload RAHH
The statue holding the sword is the first sketch of He-Man, it can be seen in the episode "The Toys That Made Us"
My childhood just came rushing back to me
Finally..... Skeletor looks exactly like the action figure I once owned 41 years ago.
Aaaand is played by Jared Leto
@dominikstasiak4247 that's not a bad thing
@dominikstasiak4247 only people who care are chronically online
@Coola_the_Koala beg to differ. He hasn't been good at any role since Mr. Nobody
@nirobui liked him in Tron Ares
Sounds like it's time for a Blind Wave reaction to Masters of the Universe from the 80's!
Such a classic. Langella and Dolph cant be topped.
@gregory3499Dolph's look as HeMan can't be matched 💪
This open my birthday weekend, I might cry real tears, I know I had like one third of Eternia...😭😭😭
As soon as the tickets are available, I'm going to get mine.
Teela is being played by Camila Mendes, who is most famous for playing Veronica Lodge in The CW's Riverdale.😊
It looks good so far so we'll see! Has me excited though!
i was worried yesterday, but that Trailer gave me a little hope.
2002 He-Man was peak for the animated shows.
Madison Avenue and toy companies everywhere agree
Can't say it was one of my faves. I watched most of it back when it was but dropped off during the second season cos the snakemen thing bored me. I tried watching it from start a couple years ago and I stopped after ten episodes. it's fine. Just I prefer Revelation/Revolution for a more 'mature' MotU and the 80s show for the childhood nostalgic goofiness.
…but is Orko gonna show up?
He better. Won't be the same without him.
... and where is he?
I'm bummed out that we didn't see him. Kevin Smith does not like Orko. I hope this movie doesn't feel the same way. I was really young for this property, so Orko appealed to me. I've heard that people that were really young for the Star Wars prequels really fondly remember Jar Jar Binks. Orko is no Jar Jar, thought! Although, its got the same screw up vibes.
@puzzud Yeah, I was also young when watching it way back when, so Orko clicked for me as well and I didn't ever really get why he bothered people so much.
Yes
It looks like they use the same wormhole rainbow effect from the episode where the astronauts travel to Eternia and recognize Adam's mom as a lost astronaut from Earth.
I hope we get a live action biker mice from mars next
not enough people have been talking about that last part where adam and skeeltor are going at it and there is that perfectly timed slow-motion and vfx. If that is what the fight scenes for the movie are gonna be like, then holy hell we are in for a treat.
I enjoyed the trailer, but Adam kinda sounds like Thad Castle from Blue Mountain State
Cautiously optimistic.
I’m ready for a live action thunder cats movie
now this loooks really good
Orko is a must.
Yes. In the other live action movie we didn't get him only some gnome type creature
The 80s cartoon Music is ICONIC!!!!
Agreed, I'm glad they used it for the teaser for the trailer...I hope it finds its way somehow into the actual movie.
Aaron's face blindness is infecting them all.
Adam Glenn was a great nod to the cartoon his mother the Queen had the last name of Glenn (captain Marlayna Glenn)
Fans have pointed out that Orko is missing from the trailer. Might the doorbell in the nerd shop be a subtle reference to him? Orko’s magic is usually signaled by a small ringing sound. Is it possible that he found the sword on Earth?
This movie reaction will be great
❤❤❤ finally ❤❤❤
Wasn't Prince Adam's Mother from Earth? A NASA Astronaut?
The 2002 cartoon and the comic series that followed it was awesome andd it went deep into the lore and world building.
well its travis knight who's directed the film so if you liked bumblebee.. you love he-man and the masters of the universe
The boy has form. I'm in
that's problematic. Bumblebee is my least fave TF film. It's more the adventures of spielberg cliche Charlie and her pet robot.
I loved the original series and the first movie. Would be cool to react to or rewatch for the channel
I grew up with Heman and im excited for this. But the 80s classic that needs to make a comeback is freaking BRAVESTARR! that would slap with this visual style.
It's giving me DND movie vibes! I'm really excited even though I had low expectations at first
I'm surprised it looks like 🎉🎉🤩👌😎
The Sword of Greyskull
I know nothing about this universe but this movie looks like a good time. Just for the fights alone.
I loved it! 💜🧡😎
To the Blind Wave crew Frank Langella was Skeletor in the movie with Dolph Lundgren.
This is just an trailer. But i think we'll have an origin story of Queen Marlena crash landing in eternia and Keldor turning into skeletor in the first few minutes of the film that builds up and explains the conflict they have which leads to how prince adam as child gets transported to earth......
Long Live The 80s Cartoon Era! Awesome Reaction 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⭐️
I’m just refreshing the page, just need the invincible trailer reaction
Dude thought this was just one of those fan made trailers at first but this does look good. Interesting take on He-Man's origins. I think we all wanted to see Adam on earth in the 80's cartoon at some point
It is Idris, Alison Brie, Kristen Wiig
Have y'all seen the Dolph Lundgren live-action one? It's cheesy, but I actually think it's massively underrated and is my benchmark of expectation for this one.😅
It had a hell of a troubled shoot. They literally had to break in to the studio to finish filming. That is why the finale sequence is so dark on the set. The studio went under.
Its garbage, it killed the franchise for years.
Same will happen with this Movie because they reproduced both mistakes from the Old Movie:
Earth in it and no Orko in sight!
Who know maybe Orko will be there🤷🏻♂️ as long as Gwlidor doesn't show up 😅
@SteveODonnell I hated it as a Kid and all the people that liked it were for me people that easy fall for misleading advertising!
@DarylMCDeathI was 6 when the Dolph movie came out. I thought it was amazing to see He-Man as a real person .
I really hope this is fun and good. 'Cause it could spawn a load of movies and spinoffs.
You should watch Handsome Devil. It's a great movie.
The “I HAVE THE POWER!! Line needs a little more gravitas too it. I want it to echo into my soul but it looks good
If you want to see more of Nicholas Galatzine before this movie, I recommend "Bottoms", is a good comedy with a twist!😅
I remember having the McDonalds He-man figure and his tiger when I was a kid!
Original thundercats animated series is great
16:15 In the 80’s movie Skelator was played by Frank Langella and he was absolutely amazing!!
He-Man needs to break the fourth wall at the end and preach to the audience.
Jake should watch it at the cinema and then watch it with the boys. Being a big fan, he needs to see it on the big screen.
The original 80's Skeletor is the legendary Alan Oppenheimer who also voiced Falkor in The Neverending Story and voices in Transformers, Ducktales, amongst many, many animated tv shows
And is John's 3rd cousin
He was also Moss Man in the Kevin Smith He-Man series as well.
@monarched "smells like pine"
Man At Arms creadted a robotic MOTU named Roboto that's who that is
To whoever is the editor. There’s a trailer out for a new Life is Strange game. I know one of them played LiS1 and Before the Storm.
Jared Leto is perfect casting. He’s a great actor and singer, and I imagine he will be able to do a great voice.
Cool. he's also an alleged abuser of women and minors with 20 years of problematic behavior (and even his own creepy island where he walks about in white robes like jesus and has hundreds of his fans, also clad in white, idolise him). And currently has allegations from 9 different women, some of whom claim they were minors.
omg yessss
thundercats was so good as well
and M.A.S.K was awesome for me as a kid
I hope they do some justice for those as well
The original with Dolph Lundgren was also live action and also takes place in the real world, btw.
I dont know much about masters of the universe, but i might check it out when it goes on amazon prime
