Focus on identifying braking zones and reference points at where to start slowing :D My top tip

I went straight from forza 4 to forza 7 in November and got pissed off at the lack of respect from the noobs to forza. Crazy how it's more respectful drivers in forza 4 than 7. SMH 😒 So to better gain skill, first extend your controller deadzones. 0 and 100 for everything, then you'll really get a feel for every car you drive. Deadzones limit the minimal and max response of turning. Also turn off all assist and drive manual (suggested line okay). Then try using stock cars or cars that are really hard to control (Plymouth GTX FF, Ford GT40, McLaren 650S, etc.) with no tune. That will show you how to control the amount of pressure you'll need on the trigger to gain traction. If you don't tune already try to tune your own cars. Once you find a master tune (a tune that is perfect to your driving style) take the basics (tire pressure, alignment, suspension, damping and diffrential settings) of that tune and apply it to other cars of the same drive type (rwd, awd, fwd) and just tweak slightly to fit that car. As for racing, just go as clean as possible. A 10 minute clean lap beats a 3 minute dirty lap any day👍 And clean laps put you in a better position for the next race especially if everyone around you is dirty 😎 learn the tracks, too. Know your environment. If it takes no line and learning the braking zones for a few races, it's worth it. When you know your apexs and exactly where to brake, it's a full advantage when it comes to overtaking opponents. Build cars that are fast, then focus on control when tuning. Tire pressure, alignment and suspension work as one when cornering, so get those to balance out. Hopefully this helps 👍🙄👍

Thanks for the help! I’ll definitely be referring back to this 😄 I have played around with deadzones in the past, I’ll make sure I have them straightened out in game now. As for assists, the only ones I use are the braking line and automatic. I definitely think I’ll be faster if I learn not to get distracted by shifting in manual. Car selection and tuning are definitely two of my week points. I tried to get into tuning but then I got frustrated with it. Definitely worth working on because it seems to make a big difference if you can adjust your car to your own driving style. Running clean laps definitely helps you stay in the race by the end, plus it’s nice to start up front for the next race 🏆
