Newly discovered footage taken from Elvis at Madison Square Garden June the 9th 1972. This is a longer version than the already known footage available.
hard to believe 40 years ago, I have this cd his voice was amazing. I love this concert. I wish I was there but I was only 7. Elvis was a musical genius, perfect pitch the ability to hear a song and then just sing it, even if he forgot the words he was able to continue without misses a note. He could sing the low notes then go right into the high notes. If you think about the richness of his voice there is no one that even comes close. He didn't have a "sound" his diversity was his sound.
After seeing the fabulous press conference he did and then see him transform into Elvis on stage was awesome! That show's what a brilliant entertainer he was, because he was shy and quiet and on stage he was not! He was the best intertainer in the world, and still is...that's a fact! God created him to be that and also to never be matched by anyone EVER!
@Lucy P..u certainly look too young to of seen elvis live..I'm 45 never got the chance..I guess that's the beauty of TV film and records..it sorta brings everything back to life in a way
Nj acapella doowop enthusiasts Well Nj...no I didn't get to see him live...I sure wish I could have and yes I'm 57 yrs old, so TY for the young thing lol
Elvis was magical, electrifying, and just right down exciting. There will NEVER be another like him. He was phenominal then and is just irreplacable today. I'll forever enjoy his music and performances.
***** he really never realized how many people he influenced or would eventually influence ..he certainly couldn't forsee in death he would still be a force nearly 40 years later..my mother and father at the time we're 24 and 22..both.liked elvis but weren't fanatics..my father was big doowop fanatic..they both said after the show you become a much bigger fan..my mother said they build u up so much for his entrance and then he comes out and the flashes from all the cameras was a sight to see..they both had a deeper appreciation after the shows..
***** thats just what my parents said...my godmother who i believe thought ep walked on water said she got a hold of 25 tickets a few for each show..she went to all 4 and sold the rest to,friends..not sure if my parents would of went although my father says at that time he was going to a ton of richard nader and gus gossert rnr revival shows
***** oh I thought it was 4 because they said he was first solo performer to sell out 4 in a row??? Maybe he did a afternoon and evening in the same day??
+Nj acapella doowop enthusiasts Elvis did 4 shows 1 on the 9 of June, 2 on the 10 and 1 on the 11. And yes he did break all records, including The Beatles' and Rolling Stones' !! It has been voted as one of the Gardens 50 biggest moments of all time (and that includes sport events). I can recommend the "Price from another planet" cd/DVD/ booklet release, it contains video of his press conference, show and interviews , and the best sounding recordings of the two shows from the 10 of June. IMO these shows are among his best ever.
I was at the Friday night concert. I had the chance to get Saturday but decided not to. The tickets were 10$ unbelievable what he be worth today... I was at the middle right side of the stage CBS, NBC cameras were there, 19,500 people full house, you got the feeling you wanted to get the pre warm up show out of the way, finally the lights went out drums pounding, hearts pounding and in time a spot light in the right side of the stage, a white male 6'1" with a white suit that stood out in the dark made the entrance, thousand of flashbulbs lid up the arena looked like a giant Christmas owning. First thing I tell people when asked; [ 'electric'] The whole hour or so you were filled with entertainment. As the show ended and you exit the arena you knew you were part of history. I also saw him the following year at the Colosseum in Long Island where at the near end of the show I ran to the front of the stage as he took his bows with his superman cape. I was 20yrs old. Only 4 autographs are worth any real money today; A. Lincoln, JFK, Marilyn M. and Elvis.
He was just a natural. He had everything it took to make a show work. And he knew what it took to make a show successful. It's no wonder he was crowned KING!!! Hw will reign forever.
A CAMERA IS PLACED ON THE STAGE!!! IF YOU PAUSE AT 3:32 YOU CAN'T MISS, IT'S RIGHT NEXT TO ELVIS! I HOPE THIS IS ONE OF THE SOURCES BEING USED FOR THE FORTHCOMING OFFICIAL CD/DVD-SET IN OCTOBER. AND HOPEFULLY THERE WERE OTHER CAMERAS PLACED AROUND THE STAGE AS WELL! GREAT UPLOAD! THANKS.
I've seen many footages of the MSG here on RUclips, but it's the first time that I see this one. Just imagine that one day someone discovers that the whole June 9th show has been filmed! Wouldn't it be great? Thanks for sharing :)
ELVIS makes todays singers look like the Synthetic Lot that they are. Today it is all just lip synching, backtracks and engineering genius to disguise NON-TALENT. I just went to GRACELAND and it was AMAZING. I could have spent a week there but was moving from Jersey to Arizona and had only 1 Day. Got to see all his Jumpsuits, Guitars, air planes and beautiful home. I am 49 and was 13 in 1977. Remember it like it was yesterday, but unfortunately it was a Long Time Ago. See You Soon Elvis!
When I was a teenager in the 70's I dreamed of playing the Madisom Square Garden as a hard rock star. Now I dream of being an Elvis Impersonator. Someone should manage me and make me a star Elvis Impersonator in Vegas or Hawaii. I think I got it like no one else does. I play the bass guitar really good at the same time I sing Elvis songs. The 1st of 3 Elvis songs so far I did is That's All Right. I even do the guitar solos on bass in my songs. Someone make me a star. We'd get rich and famous.
Hi, this is an security camera the footage from this camera may have never been taped. The source for the set will be 8mm footage taken on sat afternoon. You can see this footage also on the msg1972 site
I don't think this is security camera footage at all because who ever is manning this camera is zooming in and out and as you can tell there's someone right in front of it early in the footage who you see stand up indication this was a hand held camera held by someone with seats in the high level sitting behind someone.
I'm 3 months new to Elvis' music and it seems that the set lists of songs didn't change very much. I know he sang songs like "Fairytale" and "For The Heart", for example. Yet it appears that Elvis stuck with a routine performance. Am i wrong about this?
Landrew120880 I think you’re right he stuck in a few new songs here and there but in general his routine was pretty much the same , he was a guy that didn’t like change probably got boring after awhile doing the same thing , he repeated what he did in the 60s with those corny movies with the concerts in the 70s pity he wasn’t challenged more in his career but he was in such huge demand that he kept doing the same act people loved it !
Fabulous! No one even came close to his talent, stage presence or looks!

Tks for sharing your treasured Elvis days! ~
Elvis actually was slightly under 6 foot but wore Cuban heels which brought him over 6 foot ..
I heard the comedian was so funny that the whole garden almost died laughing..
the crowd literally vocally exploded
I was at the June 10 th, Saturday night performance . Unbelievable! So great!
Meu lindo Elvis que saudade de você ficar com Deus beijo...🎼🎻🎵⚘🎤♥️📞📞📞📞🎤🎸📞⚘🎻🎵🎵🎵🎸🎸🎻

Frederick Allegri WELL SAID!!
That was great.
This is wild.Probably better than we're gonna get on the Prince from another planet set.

I don’t think a security cam would be moving in a manner that if a human was holding it
Elvis was getting down at the end. polk salad annie
I was there 0pening night! They booed the comedian off the stage! New York could not wait for their King! Best footage yet! Thanks! - JG
Is Kathy Westmoreland on this footage? She was "the little girl with the beautiful high voice".
Fantastic !
damn, that was good !
according to many, poor Jackie was booed off the stage at MSG
Jackie was always awful. The Colonel enjoyed his corny humor.
Forever the king!
Awesome!!!!!
Elvis standing southpaw .like a left handed fighter .
This was better than prince from anoher planet!!!
Fantastic looks to me like 16m footage
If so, perhaps if there's more of it, it could be remastered?
Unfortunate time code being present. While oe
even i think he performed some songs regularly live.but then many concerts dont have footages only sound.check out some only sound concerts.
Fucken badass!!
Damn I miss those Glory Days.
I love elvis WHEN HE SHAKES HIS ASS

@avcat1 while some enjoy seeing this code, some do
Time code. Ugh!

The comedian at the start is dying !
Fantastic !
