1980's PEOPLE: The future is going to be great.
2021 PEOPLE: Let's go back to the 80s.
I met my future wife that year. Three years later we got married. Still going strong 35 years later.
Sure it means goods memories for you!!
40 years you mean
I was 17 in 1980. That was my decade. Oooh...what a beautiful time it was !
I was in high school 1980-1984. Absolutely hated hated school, but the music of those years were a great escape for me,
Me too. But, I was in my third year in The U.S. Air Force . I miss the 80's New Wave music.
U r lucky...u r in high school in 80s.....

Same here, Great times!
Jim, I was class of 88. HATED school. After an enlistment in the USMC I went to college and loved it. Got 3 degrees!
I miss the 1980s I just wanna cry right now
I miss it, too, and I wouldn't be born until '94.
Can I join you?
@Denise Hudgens 😄.
mauser 66 same here
Do you have more tissue? For me.😪
I miss that music from the'80's 😰
Times that will never come back, those of us who lived it were fortunate, I am sorry for the children of today who hear only noise
But that's the thing it isn't "noise" to them though lol ya know?! I mean I'm sure your parents thought the same about alot of your music too as did mine
If we could disappear the playstations , mobile phones and PCs and they got a real life probably and the music would be much better
Aaaaaah! 1982 - take me back to this great music!
Mary Diemer if you find a way let me know! 1982 was the best year for me!
Not just the music! Take me back to 1982!
The 80's was the best decade in music. It lacked near the end, but was very strong before that.
Oh how I miss these wonderful and carefree days... these songs are my absolute favorites!!
The 80’s were so awesome, truly miss those days. So many great concerts, and you didn’t have to fit into one genre you could be part of it all.
This is when mtv played music on tv I miss the 80s
Me too 😢😢😢😢
I Want My MTV. Those were the days alright.
I loved Martha Quinn.
I hate mtv now
I can diggit,Butter, today's MTV is nothun' but black rap crap 💩
I graduated in 1982 was the best era of 80's songs.. I want to go back...
It was a beautiful time the 80's, i wanna go back in time.
I was thirteen. I remember seeing E.T. on my birthday. God I miss the 80s!
I was just born when ET came out in the cinema. I'm thirteen years younger than you! 😉
Gosh , you got old like the rest of us .LoL
Really, i remember seeing E.T when it first came out my cousins to me to the movies at The Entrance on the central coast.
I was Born in 1990 but i feel the 80s in my heart... Greetings
I was born 2003 but I love the 80s and all older music
Me too
Good for you, so pleased the younger generation appreciate this great music.
The 1980s is a great era in music; some of my favourite music is from the nineteen eighties. Back then I was still in high school studying for my final credits for Grade 13. At that time in the 1980s music still had a message, or theme that was communicated through the lyrics of a song, or tune. I think that most very good music has a message, and the story that a listener can appreciate; those were the good, old days, and to be precise back in 1982.
And it came in a bunch of forms, so trying to classify it as a single type of music was crazy!
We all love the music of our school years but I find it difficult to think of an era that produced better music. 1982 is the 80s in a nutshell. Quality song writing and such a huge variation in styles. Love it all!
Wow, that was some year for classics.
Take me back to da 80s
You never forget the music from your high school years. Good times...
Or, in my case, in my elementary school years. ;-)
@@AdultThirdCultureKid1971 mine too
Gloria Laura Branigan. Good memories, RIP Laura!
God, she was Beautiful!!
@@gringopablo you exhibit great taste in women, greengoaPablo 👍
I didn't know her name was Gloria, like the song ?
Jus' askin' !
That song will live on in the hearts of St. Louis Blues fans forever!
Such talent, such beauty, such a lose. RIP
The music industry should hide their head in shame, this was just one year of music !!!! This is real diversity
So many great songs
I was born in 75 and the 80’s is my favourite music decade.
Same.
BEST ERA EVER!! (1982-86) 🙌🏻⚡️❤️💪🏻🎶🙏🏻💥👏🏻 Just Good Simple Times
1980-1989*
85 86 87 los mejores años
What a surprise ! Musics in German and Italian on the list ! Almost I feel that musics in Spanish, French and Portuguese included. 1982... a year of very impressive songs in the Western Hemisphere.
Maybe I'll wake up back in the 80s and this has just been a dystopian nightmare.
Dystopian is an understatement!
Plz someone make Orwell fiction again!
Wake me up too, will you?
Me too!
Lol
OMG! I soooo miss the 80’s....The movies, the tv show’s and MTV of course.....and especially the music. If I had 3 wishes one would go back to that time. Truly miss the 80’s😢
Me too 😢
Wow. I remember these songs like it was yesterday. Time flies.
Awesome memories, I was 11, and always remember hanging out with, and hunting with my Pop.
It's been four years since he left us here, but these songs take me right back there. 🤗
79 to 88; New Wave, you burned so very brightly! and this was one of the best years, even the pop was excellent.
I need a time machine.
I'll second that , back to the golden days of music hey!!!😎🎵😃🎵 march 2020
No you don’t. They’re nothing but problems. Trust me, I know.
Same here
X4
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏
Just take the 2000s out and I'll agree🤝
Not a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest, but A little Peace by Nicole is my favourite. Very underrated, doesn’t get the credit it deserves.
I was born in 76' and loved all most of these songs, some of these songs have a real close tie-in to the story of my life. All I can say is, the generation before us helped make our childhood golden, lets do the same for our children and teach them this lesson so that all the years to come will be a joy for future generation. What ever we do, do it with excellence.
80s music will never die. Up the eighties and every song in it.
ABBA rocked the early 80's more than any other group and the number of one hit wonders during that time is crazy but all the music was consistently great
A number of groups kick Abbas but. Look at Chicago.
You are kidding; Abba were done by the 80s, New Wave was here!
@@racketman2u Did you even watch this video? Their last album was maybe their strongest.
@@jimboy819 Chicago?! 😂😂😂
ABBA did start fading away by 83 and were no longer considered cool if u were a teenager; however during the 70s and early 80s few bands surpassed their unique popularity. And even now their music continues to reach a wider audience; they are termed as a global phenomena rather than a music band. Not bad for band from a non english speaking country who continuously keeps gaining audiences throughout generations.
I turned 16 in 1982. Damn this brings back some fun memories. New Wave and Punk forever.
I was 19 in this now classic time 🌈 and “ the blow “ was flying ! With that🎉 delicious “ Ty stick too ! “ I just turned 57 and looking back through this music seems like a dream to me now 🎼🌿💖. A truly wonderful time to have been young growing up in the Bay Area ⭐️
I miss the mother fucken 80’s lord please take me back .
Practically each song triggers a specific memory or memories so I had to pause frequently to remember or perform side-searches. Previously, I'd believed that 1983 was more impactful but '82 is rather weighty.
SONGS I LOVE:
Don’t You Want Me
Eye Of The Tiger
Hungry Like The Wolf
I Love Rock N Roll
I’m So Excited
Mad World
Mickey
Good songs ever heard of baby makes them blue jean talk by dr hook or eye of the sky by alan parson project

You born in this year.
Reichlich Klassiker , spätestens seit The day before you came , eines der schönsten Musikjahre überhaupt. Vielen Dank für das Hochladen
Four ABBA songs plus Frida too! I love this video!!
The eighties was the beginning of the end to good music.
Hell yeah
Thank you. I graduated in 82 and I just thought "What is happening? Did they ban the electric guitar?"
Great collection...👍brilliant musicians and tracks
Amaizing!! Beautiful moments and greats songs 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍😍😍
Good times!!!!!
You said Mateo !
Eighties was probably the best decades...... Disco & New Waves & Breakdance & Pop Rock and so others......
Amen to that
@@lauraluffman6177 👍😊
And dark wave too
Thierry Ballet:
To choose I prefer the 60's but I do not regret having lived the 80's.
disco was gone by the 80s, thank god.
Greatest decade ever for the music history
I'm so sad to consider or recognize it was about 40 years ago, right now. I wish I came back to my early years. Eighties were such brilliant years. New wave and Pop music ruled the world and I'm so grateful that U2 or Depeche Mode are still here today. Coldplay and Muse are the 80's children.
It was awesome in the 80s man switching back and forth from VH -1 and MTV on Saturday night slamming brews doing all nighters awesome time BIG 80s was the shit.
@Bill Farel "man switching"? I had to read it again (with punctuation). 😊😊😊
@@perri_6 sorry have to text on such a small phone.4 inch screen
The females of this era sounded a lot better then what you hear now..
I totally agree, plus they would do it without all this computerized voice autotune, BS ! Jus' say'n !!
Now THAT is a bit of a stretch...
@@Shane3125 open you EARS, Shane ,open your ears ! Jus' say'n ! ✌
@@mtsilvagt I did.. and I can tell Adele, Gaga, and Ariana Grande are much better than what came out of the '80s.
@@Shane3125 Its all COMPUTERS Shane ! But to each they're own.
Wow I loved that song by Frida,"There's Something Going On". It's been so long..since I heard that one. Alot of other great tunes also. Best of times!
Great times back then 🎼
Who could ever forget that song Hungry like the wolf by Duran Duran what a year great memories thanks for sharing made my day
1982 my favorite year as a teenager. I was 15 year old kid enjoying all this music and the hits that come coming in that year
So many great tunes and artists, way better than most of today's crap music we have to listen to on the radio !!
View from a Bridge by Kim Wilde and Under Attack by ABBA was also one of the best songs of 1982.
I like that it starts off with 1982's Eurovision winner. 👌
Oh man... I'll take it all... This was the time you either go left or right. All those songs are part of my life. Good selections...
Eye in the Sky my favorite
❤ ABBA! Even Frida got in the act with there's something going on.
Marc Sonnenberg with Phil Collins drumming in the background
I was 10. In Europe, i remember hearing Yazoo and Human league everywhere you went
My wife and I were married in '82. I also graduated from college that year. The only albums of these I had was Alan Parsons and America. Chicago's Hard to Say I'm Sorry should have been included.
Lots of good songs in a single year. Maybe a nowadays decade doesn't produce something like that...
Qualidade e quantidade! Vivi essa época ! Uma explosão de músicas maravilhosas!!!
I graduated in 1981, God I wish I could go back and relive the 80s. I loved the 80s so much they kinda bled into the early 90s for me.
OMFG! This was possibly the best year of my life, I took drivers ed! Many of these songs mean everything to me, GYPSY, abracadabra, culture club, Alan parsons, human league, hall and Oates, Rick Springfield!!! Who here remembers General Hospital! Rocky 3!! There were. Lot of crap songs on this list, many that weren’t played in the states, but what classics!!! How can it be like yesterday, but I’m so old??? The timeless question? BRAVO! great vid!
How good were film clips in the 80s? Great times. Thanks for the memories some random guy 💙
This just reminds me of how much times suck now. Thanks woke generation
Class of 82 Houston, Tx
Me as well, Colorado Springs, CO 80s were the best.
I can remember back in the early '80's, I could drive intercity and just leave the car radio on one channel which would play hit after hit. I can see why now - there were just so many of them. Great times.
Gloria - Laura Branigan ! Unforgettable days !!! Chicago... Supertramp... Just an illusion !!! ROSANNA !!!
ABBA the day before you came, absolute piece of art
