- A Debug Checkpoint operation first introduced by Matt Filer's video '2 Controllable Players!' allows to look at death animations from a second player view. Before that the Alien has to be spawned on Torrens as i could achieve in my 'The fourth Passenger' movie.
Once the death animation is starting the view point will be frozen. Surprisingly models are really performing all action as you can experience as original victim (sometimes smart and smooth, sometimes hilarious).
Sadly player models are never existing completely, so you can only enjoy what the game offers to you.
Don't ask me how i got that because meanwhile i've forgotten the exact procedure and can't repeat it anymore, it's mostly made of earlier recorded material. Fortunately i still have the save files.

Yeah, it's awesome (mostly), sometimes they did care less about the movement when it's out of player view but overall they did. Recently i thought that it had the best animated and textured movie monster in a game ever, truely accurate and cinematic. I wish i could have a view on more animations, i.e. when pulled out of vents (3 different ones) or lockers (4 different ones), would have been a lot of fun watching NPCs killed that way. The idea of the game was to be great, not to be greatly profitable, that's so rare in current AAA environment.

That's quite impressive that the alien is still entirely there during the first animation. They could have easily have just spawned a disembodied copy of the hand that reaches into view to slash Amanda's face, but instead the alien actually shifts forward and does it. I wonder if that may have been a remnant of the game's early stages where it was going to be from a third-person perspective instead of first-person as we ultimately got.
Good question but i guess it's foremost made for the most possible immersion. The engine has to calculate which animations are possible and appropriate in view of the available room and the player position. It would be immersion breaking if the Alien would perform physically impossible moves. But who knows ?
I always liked the variety of death animations very much, it shows so much passion for the game.
Edit: For me these death animations are probably a reason why Amanda can't jump or climb, they do not work smoothly when Amanda and Alien are not at the same level.
I am glad they did it because when in VR that way is niceer to actually move the head and see it. Maybe it was more intended therefore for those stages where they wanted to make it VR...

this is proubaly why a third person might have been neat. i know it made the game less scary for some but, this just kinda looks goofy

A great movie, maybe not the best western of all times, but in terms of movie art unmatched.
Edit: I think Sergio Leone's style had some influence on Scott when he made the prolonged Brett scene in Alien.
Its time to play with Androids ! They can be lots of fun... especially with the right music too.. :D
Androids doing the "stomp" from 3rd person so we can see them going.. "Shhhhh" to their victims first...
There is one time you can cause a war I thinks... I stumbled upon a human vs android death match during the Alien downtime, (after the trap) in Comms... upstairs.. there are two big double doors.. androids come out of one and humans come out of the other (nearest the stairs).
I've seen that battle (heard most of it) once. During my first ever playthru on Nightmare mode. Not sure how to replicate it but I have seen the bodies from it happening again later on during a hard playthru. Even saw a dead android in the center of the hallway (hey I didnt kill it).

If you go back to comms after the first alien is dealt with .. you can also HIT the 2nd double doors (facing the room you go into that has the vent to bypass the security door.. after the 2nd conveyor belt -- which btw can be used a second time thru for note's sake) anyways.. two androids WILL come out of those double doors (maybe not immediately).. Ive been able to replicate that once more the first time I hit the door after hearing the tracker go off.. I saw the dots.. but left the area for the elevator to get a blueprint I left in the comms room. Came back and both androids were patrolling the checkpoint station. Second pass I waited and they came from the door area. Saw the doors closing...
ANyways.. this might be a good place to stage an Android vs Human match-up. Only other place I know of is the area of the Trap (down the elevator from comms) WHEN you go back there (with no Alien around) to get loot ... humans appear in that area also after you warn the first batch of humans to leave (before you get rid of the alien). If you can keep the new arrivals (the ones that do shoot at you after the first stage of the trap fails) alive until after the alien is gone and return to the area they are joined by even MORE humans if you first sneak past them (again) and get stuff out of the server room area and then return. One large sound like a flash bang and ALL the androids from the server room gather their posse and go huntin for people with guns. Behold the joy and canage below as the Androids deliver their "this is a restricted area" message to stubborn gun-toting looters.
Reminds me of the Kill Bill scene ---almost. :D
Anyways... Please see what you can do with Androids (dunno if u can clone them like the aliens or not)... it could end up a slow motion bloody mess with a war against humans :D

There are some unclear restrictions on the soundtrack due to copyright issues. please tell me if you have problems in your country despite using an ordinary browser.
I like it this way and don't want to change it but i might upload an unproblematic version (only the middle part is in question). I wouldn't care if only smartphones are affected.

i think a lotta death animations for amanda in general were for third person they just look too good to have only been planned for 1st person

Great video! Not sure if you've had a chance yet to check out my newest mod tool for the game, but you'd get some great videos out of that. Here's the link: github.com/MattFiler/LegendPlugin. Check out the "PlayerBehaviour" behaviour tree once you've got the tool up and running, you can cancel out scripted animations among other many things which produces some interesting results in-game. Scripted movement paths and many other actions can also be achieved, for all character types! It's especially interesting for modifying reactions, like how the Xeno reacts to other characters for example.

Screenwriter Dan O’Bannon picked his painting _Necronom V_ to be the _Alien_ (which then brought director Ridley Scott on board.) Look that up. What do you see is apparent? Listen to Dan O’Bannon. I recommend watching the special feature documentary from the Alien Quadrilogy DVDs. (It’s here on RUclips) That “play” is the entire point of the Xenomorph character and _Alien_ series.
Old fans knew what that thing did to Lambert in the first movie and it’s horrifying.

@@aesthedicks5103 Not that long. She died a couple years before Ellen was rescued in Aliens. But yes, she grew old and died before she ever had a chance to see her mom again.
