This makes the thought of that one house fly, living your house just as terrifying for you as it is for the poor insect that's trapped. This suddenly gives me the undying urge to clean my house from top to bottom twice over. Then, for good measure, make sure the windows are entirely insect proof 🤣
Lovecraft looked down on everyone who wasn't old New England aristocrats. An asshole, but a brilliant asshole who spun one hell of a yarn. This ghost story kinda bugs me...

As sad as it is that’s about par for the time. Not everyone was like that but your talking early to mid 1900’s white man in academia. And keep in mind the time it was written. They were seen as “savage” and I mean. Eugenics came about then
@@timmybarry7207 I understand that the prejudice was more obvious then. For instance even Arthur Conan Doyle in one of his Sherlock Holmes stories referred to a Jewish person as a "Jew". Even the composer named Chopin said "Jew". Women were also seen as inferior.

Respect for reading it as written, hard R and everything.
An excellent reading!
This is one that's new to me. Thanks!

He looked down on everyone who wasn't him or his mom, English included.
JRR Tolkien was born in the city of Bloemfontein, South Africa. The name means flower fountain in Dutch or Afrikaans.
I would have changed the N word to ‘locals’. No need to repeat ignorance even if it comes from the author.
You censor you if you like. Like the good little pion you are.
Leave people alone
Its a story.
Me like Lovecraft. Lovecraft racist. But me no racist. There you don’t have to read any other comments.
Lovecraft wasn't racist, he hated other English people too
He was xenophobic.

Far from lovecraft's best work.
Must love how you people compared books written 80 or 100 years ago, with todays political bullshit.
You pulled a racism
Lovecraft's contemporaries found his racism offensive

Lovecraft must have been a racist since he looked down upon the Africans. This story was well read by Josh Greenwood.
How was he looking down upon them? I heard some salty words. That's about it. Maybe it is how the africa is the way it is and ... look at life bro
@@TheKurtChaney Lovecraft perceived the Africans as subhuman; as would a CLASS SYSTEM would enforce that thought.

Lovecraft was exceptionally racist, even for his time. It does make his writing difficult to read.
