Stunning performance, far superior to all the sopranos that have sung it. And I have listened to all of them. I am American/Czech and speak the language. It makes all the difference in the deliverance of the words. 1000 curtain calls Eva

Byla jsem na derniéře,kdy paní Evička byla úžasná Rusalka, jedno z nejkrásnějších zážitků pro mě i moji maminku,se kterou velice rádi vzpomínáme ....v Nabucco je taky skvělá...ten její hlas je nezaměnitelný a každý tón ukazuje cit a sílu slova❤❤
Žel nevím,kdo dělal průvodní obraz a fotografie, ale jste geniální. Uchvátný zpěv, ryze český a průvodní pohádkový obraz sentimentu a spirituality českých luhů a hajů. Jest vyjádřený krásným zpěvem, doprovodnou hudbou a dokonáno obrazem půvabné operní pěvkyně..
C'est l'interprétation de Rusalka que je préfère, orchestration, voix, mixage, parfait selon moi.

Well That is one Spectacular Voice Indeed , Like the Goddess of Song Miss Patricia Janeckova. Yet this Recording is A little on the low side , Still her Tone & Pitch are Incredible 2 Thumbs up for this Diva Named Eva ! 😄 Bravo !!!

Should you be wondering why Rusalka was singing in the departure hall of České Budějovice airport, it was because the orchestra’s usual venue was unavailable for the recording of the CD which included this piece.

I'm getting nothing of the mystery of life from her performance: she sounds like she's never been in love. No slides to any of the high notes. Rather a mechanical performance by my tastes, but a fabulous finish
Good diction, however and she keeps it very legato.

@@BestAmateurViolinist In MY opinion ...... and in the opinion of everyone else who has commented here, you appear to have some very strange "tastes". I am familiar with many performances of this aria, indeed, I shall be attending a performance of Rusalka by SND in Bratislava on the 18th December. Eva is the best Rusalka that I have ever heard. She always plays the part. She does not feel the need to play the over-theatrical diva regardless of the character that she is portraying. There are some appalling performances on RUclips. I give you Renée Fleming at the 2010 Proms. She either had problems with her dentures or should have taken lessons in Czech pronunciation. Jiří was right there. From her theatrical hand movements, I suspect that she had no idea of the meaning of the individual lines. Then, we have daft translations such as, "Oh, Moon so high in the deep deep sky." Poetic Czech so often drifts into beautiful poetic English. What is wrong with

You talk of "LOVE". You should note that when Rusalka sings this aria she has only an innocent concept of spiritual love. As a spirit herself, she can have had no understanding of physical love ..... Yes ! She tells her father that the prince strips naked throwing his clothes onto the bank and swims within her but that he has no idea of her existence, he only dives into the pool to cool off. "To him, I am nought but a wave". It is only after her father has disappeared back under the water in despair at Rusalka's ambition, that she wanders the surface of the pool in a turmoil. She catches sight of the reflection of the Moon, her familiar, her friend. She begins to sing tentatively asking the Moon to look into the houses of people. Eva captures that beautifully. Only towards the end does she resolve here soliloquy determined to call upon the witch, Ježibaba.
Try this lovely little trifle with her, at the time 15 year old pupil, Patricia Janečková, ruclips.net/video/d4s5VHlAwDw/видео.html No histrionics, Eva matches her voice to their little conspiracy.
And what an absolute shame that you are so very jaded, my friend, and missing out on so much beauty. Eva was Patricia Janéčkova's singing tutor, from the time that Patka was a Very young girl. And if this was her only lifetime accomplishment (and it is Far from that), then that would have been plenty. So, please don't attempt to assume anything about how she has lived her life, what she has projected into her singing performances, or what she has achieved . She is an amazing woman with a heart of gold. 💖
