If you separate those sections into smaller sections it will be easier to smooth out the roots and the rest of the length. The thing to watch out for is that the heat from the hot air can heat up the ceramic base so much that it actually reaches higher degrees like a curling iron. So as long as you keep it moving and using the twisting motion you will get results that look like a roller set and the natural curls should not be damaged. Using the cold air first doesn't actually protect the hair in any way from the heat that is then applied right after. We need the heat to break the hydrogen bonds to change the texture and then to cool it so it will stay in the new shape. Blasting it with cool air first will not strengthen it or change the shape. It is an unnecessary step that will take more time. If you have heat protectant on the hair and you don’t hold it in place or pass it too many times through each section then it will not cause damage, and if you use smaller sections then you will find that it goes quickly because each section will be heated and smoothed more efficiently, taking less time to dry and polish each section :-)
@@SharleneR Right after this video I saw the one where you did your mom's hair, the size sections you did on her are a good size to also do on your own hair.
@@avyomean22 lol it's all about the science. Any way we can keep our curls together and still express ourselves with variety in texture is the way to go :-)

Thank you! I haven't been able to find a single review about this hair tool until I found yours! I want to see if this will work for my very flat and thin hair.
Just found your review cause I ordered the tool yesterday and wanted to see more of it in action and it looks really good, but before I leave I have to tell you that your hair in the beginning before you start is absolutely beautiful!
I just got one from Amazon and it's works great on my hair, shiny ,soft and volume I also wear hair protection glove my hand don't feel the heat while holding this product 😃
Ahh what a great video! I just bought this hair dryer bc I wanted to retired air drying my hair. I have 2c/3a hair and the length is to my butt so it takes too long for it to dry. After seeing your video I’m super excited to receive it and try it out! 🤩
I have curly/coily hair and the first one step brush worked good but I didn't like the beaded bristles on it. I like that the bristles on this one are different. You have convinced me to purchase this! Your hair turned out amazing! Thanks for sharing!😊
I didn't realize I bought this one, but I have never been happier I made a mistake. My hair feels like I just left the salon! It is soft and shiny and actually holds the curl I put into it! Like what?!??
Thanks for the review. I was thinking of getting this one. But maybe not good for me if it gets that hot for you on low probably would damage my hair cuz my hair isn't thick as yours. But definitely better than the bigger one
I love your hair. Makes me want to run and and buy that tool; but i am immediately reminded my hair is not like yours. 😂 I do love the idea of blow drying and curling in one though.
You have the prettiest skin! What makeup products are you wearing? Also I just bought this brush and I’m so thankful for this tutorial bc I was kind of struggling with it
This is BEAUTIFUL. i love your hair. I have kinda sorta thin, wavy-curly hair, but they're VERY frizzy. I've seen all three of your videos- the revlon one, hot tools and this one. Of the three, which one would you recommend a beginner? Also, is the hot tools better than root booster?
Hey girly! For frizzy hair try making sure you’re using a deep conditioner and rinsing your hair with cool water. It should try and tame the frizz. I’m actually planning on doing a video on my thoughts on all three of the blowdryers! Stay tuned 🧡🧡
Beautiful curls.... I have the one step original hair dryer and I can't get my hair to curl like that... I have extremely thick naturally curly hair and in the fall/winter months I have to use an air dry and detangling spray on my hair because it takes 2 and a half days for my hair to completely dry in the fall/winter months.... I would love to use this new revlon hair dryer to dry and curl my hair with less heat damage instead of using 2 heat tools causing alot of heat damage to my hair.... Yes I do use a heat protection spray Everytime I do use heat tools
Hey Stacey. It does take a little getting use to make the hair flip. Little tip, just keep twirling the device as you’re brushing it towards your ends. Maybe I should do a little tutorial video? 🤔🤔. Just a reminder to use cool air first and then finish with heat. You got this!!
Hi Sharlene, do you recommend this one or the oval one step brush but in the smaller size (they have a newer model for short hair with a smaller barrel)? so basically is the oval design better if it was in a smaller version or this round barrel is better and easier to use? Do you know the wattage in both? I think the oval models are higher in wattage so will dry quicker maybe?
Hi Sharlene, yeah Noha Sedky makes a great point. You seem to be the only one on RUclips with a review and I am trying to decide which one to get too? Would be very grateful for your help
Hey Noha and company. Soooo I have heard things about the new and improved Revlon Pro brush but I haven’t been able to get my hands on it yet unfortunately. My answer varies on the length of your hair. I’d say if you have medium to short hair then you could totally get a great blowout with the root booster. If you have medium to long hair I’d go with the oval. The reason for that is it could take FOREVER to do it with the root booster if you have longer hair (and who wants that? 😉). As for the wattage, I honestly have 0 clue but they should have something on their website. Hope this helped! Also, now I have to snag myself the Pro Revlon. So many devices and such little time!
Could you help me? I want to compare but my hair is 3c/4a, do you think it would look good? I don't want to use a straightener, just this tool! If you can help me, (I loved your hair) ❤️
Hello Ms.Sharlene, your hair turned out 💣 girrl! I’m definitely going to purchase this blow dryer. Could you please share your nighttime routine for your curls after you blow it out? Your new Subscribie!🙂
Loved this video! Your hair looks faaaaabulous!! Thanks for sharing! My Mum shared it with me and I've now subscribed 🙏 My concern with blow drys is the brushing. Do you find the brush is gentle on your hair? My hair is very similar to yours and this is exciting 😍
Aw thank you both for giving a watch and subscribing. When you say gentle do you mean that it doesn’t tug my hair or strip it? If so, then yes. I actually find myself wanting a little more tension as I blowdry it. Just be sure to start with cool air and then go to low because even the low gets HOT.
I think it could work buttt it would probably take a long time. For long hair I personally like the Hot Tools one. The Barrel is bigger and my roots were still pretty straight.
Hi Sharlene! Thanks for such a helpful video! I was wondering if you’ve seen/ tried the new revlon plus air brush. I’d love to know what you think or if you could possibly compare those two which each other.
Love! I actually got the hot tools round brush bc of you!! I have a question about the technique. Do you curl some pieces towards your face and others away. Or do you curl one piece both ways…I’m not sure if I’m making sense.
You’re making complete sense! Hmmm. I will say I do have a tendency to turn the brush towards my face in the back and then away from my face in the front.
Hi! I want to buy the original revlon blow dry brush but I just saw this video, which one would you recommend between those two? 😫 I have a lot of hair and very curly! I like that this one is for roots but I think is too small and I will take forever! What would be your recommendation? 🙏🏻 thanks! ☺️
Hey Andreina, so I actually have a video on the Revlon Pro coming out soon. I gotta say, if you have longer hair that would be the winner for me. My hair was dry so quick and my roots were way straighter than the original.
Just a question to my fellow curly and wavy-haired girls, how do you set your hair after blow drying or ironing it? Mine returns to its natural state immediately after an hour😵😪. Please save me i need tips help 😓
I have 3a/3b hair type. I set my hair by applying a little bit of oil after I finish blow drying it or ironing it. Usually I like to blow dry it and with a flat iron just pass it through my roots real quick and not too hot. After I’m done, I like to use a wide head band to flatten or to appease my frizzy hair. Also, I like to roll my hair in a bun so when I let it loose, the ends will look wavy and fun rather than just flat. If that doesn’t work I a 100% recommend the Alfaparf keratin therapy kit. It’s like $43 on Amazon. The treatment you can DIY at home and it will losen down your curls and for suuure it will remove frizz! I have been using that product for YEARS and I have never had a single issue with it. I do the treatment twice a year! If you end up doing the treatment, if you use a flat iron during the procedure it will make your hair as straight as possible (which could be damaging I think) so just using a blow dryer or low heat iron is enough! This will save you time everyday and your hair will always be shiny and soft ✨
My head doesn’t get that greasy so with proper care it lasts me the whole week during the fall/ winter temperatures. Warmer temperatures vary depending on how humid it is. 🙂
@@SharleneR you can use T3’s new customer coupon to get an extra 15% off the sale price. I almost ordered it tonight but my hair is so short that I got the hot tools after your review of the revlon. I figure they’re the same company and the hot tools might be higher quality.

It can if I hold it on my scalp for a long period of time.
Is this as hot as the original? Or have they improved it? Nice review 😄
Because the barrel is smaller it definitely gets hotter than the original.
For thick longer curly hair the brush needs to be bigger?
The root booster could be used on long hair but I think it would take longer. I’d prefer the Hot tools brush for long hair.
