Orange is the type of guy to just sit down at a park bench and listen to the birds.
Since the Devs are listening it would be really great if you could please maybe sometime when you get to it if you want but no pressure to give everything Drongo wants for Caster mode.

Loue must have felt so dumb once he realized his mistake. That was a real “I’m turning off my computer for a while and I’m just going to crawl into bed and think about what I’ve done” moment.
I was watching the stream that day, chat in the stream were yelling like crazy but LoueMT was pretending he didnt see the wonder and didnt move until 5min left. He prob thought he could take it with Blitz, but he failed. Divine's Eng defense was impressive.
I love how Orange just didn't even attempt to attack the wonder lol

Honestly, why would he? Sometimes you gotta take your own personal victory conditions. Surviving to the end was pretty much the best case for him. If they had taken out the wonder he would have been rolled over immediately

This map would be amazing if the mountains had an opening that if you cleared enough wood in the back you can run through

They should make some places where you collect stone and make a “pass” through the mountain walls. Like we do when we chop trees…
This map is great for FFA but not ideal for nomad, for standard it's great. For FFA nomad the best are megarandom and dry arabia

I'm impressed, one of the guys who had a neighbour at the beginning won against a guy that was pumping like crazy and running everyone over.
And let's not forget the legend, the myth, 1092439092, who was casually playing farming simulator.
It's still unreal for me to believe that Loue didn't see the wonder. I feel he might be negotiating something with orange.
Hope that devs can make it possible to see the global chat when spectating. Negotiating is kinda of an essential part of FFA and too bad we cant see them.

with all due respect.. the devs did an AMAZING JOB for ffa normal and the nomad mod.. BUT they DID HORRIBLE JOB at the ffa nomad maps. they are all spawn reliable based on the normal maps which is horrible for nomad cuz many spots dont have resources except the mega random which is AMAZING
Hey Drongo, we really need the Mega Random only option for Nomad, premade maps really are too spawn dependent (and boring).
There is another issue, with the Monarch mechanics. In most games (all I've played) there is at least one player leaving right away (for example when they a bad spawn or simply disliked the map). That leaves +50 pop King in a random place on the map giving the person lucky enough to find him an unfair advantage they did not earn. Could be solved by despawning/ autokilling the king of a player that surrenders before 5th min of the game (or whatever is the earliest ppl can have units on the map). Let the devs know! :)
Luis might have been distracted and reacted late to the wonder but I think the bigger “mistake” is that he shouldn’t have let Divine play defensively.
The other players are an incognita so it might be one of the reasons he went for them first but late game Divine is a really painful defender to try and breach.
That Outback Octagon match where he was on the left playing the chinese, he was impossible to oust. The huge amount of stalling time there, where players didn’t know what to do was hilarious.
I've played several FFAs so far and mega random (land and water) are the most fun matches to me.
I agree with people who says that FFA should be only RANDOM maps, it's chaos man

The only thing i would say about this map and about this match.
There are two sections of the map with no spawns. 4 players 2 and 2 are fighting in the same section while the other players are free to build! If this map stays in FFA everyone should spawn separate and battle having to come to the middle. Open maps i don't care how they spawn this map everyone spawn in the own section and battle for the middle. This map has the ability to see 8 players fighting all at once for the middle and will take extra strategy to sink in and take someone out while it can happen to you at the same time.
If not for Divine intervention 1092439092 would have perished
It woulda been crazy if someone chopped a path through the trees and made enough space for a castle to protect the king and setup walls through the choke point/funnel!

I would like to see sometime the Delhi player using his +50 pop for priest. Would like to see how it would effect the research and healing in battle.
The Nomad FFA should be EVER on Megarandom not on preset Maps. that would be much more interesting.
I would prefer nomad to be mega random. On predefined maps the resource allocations can be rather unequal depending on your spawn. On mega random you usually have Ressources all over the map which makes the game more fair in my opinion
Class game and great commentary as per.
Game needs a big gong sound and and warning banner when a enemy builds a wonder.
It would be great if this FFA/nomad mode existed against AI as well

I like when 2 players have to share a quadrant. Gives me an idea for a similar map but with only 4 quadrants, each starts with 2 people. Almost like a natural tournament where the winner of each quadrant goes on to fight in the finals.
We need post-game interviews with the players
Even though the skill gap is kinda big, drongo never fails to hype up all the players
Honestly if the megarandom/all maps FFA is less extreme then a 75% majority, giving people a checkbox for chaos only (Megarandom) ques and splitting the que might allow for greater player engagement.
If both sides have their fun, and the minority is big enough, letting the minority get what they want at the cost of accepting a mildly longer que times is totally fine.
Like, we don't need to make that conversation a battle if it would be a small enough issue to let both exist.

I love that they implemented Nomad in the first place but why completely disregard the most popular Nomad mode? Almost all Nomad FFA games are played with mega random and the sheer amount of chaos this brings is what makes Nomad such a fun thing to play. Regular maps is what literally all the other modes are for. A king is a cool idea but im not sold on it yet. Naturally we need more time to see how the meta develops in terms of this but right now in the lower leagues it is obvious that some civs struggle a lot with this, look at Mongol.. so all of a sudden because of a king in the game, one of the best ffa civs mongol suddenly becomes quite hard to survive with due to no walls etc. I dont understand why there couldn't be TWO FFA modes and just see for themselves which one is more popular and then go with that. I would bet that the good ol' FFA Nomad mega random would win all day.

megarandom is sooooooo much better than this map for nomad ffa, this map is much better with fixed spawns, this map really, really punishes spawning with another player, more than megarandom, and additionally it lends itself to games being really defensive, which is extra annoying in an 8 player game, which already takes a long time. I recognize the map is fun, but for me, megarandom puts the game in a much better spot. that being said, I love seeing the odd structured map, but in general for ffa, I much prefer megarandom, and even further, much prefer a bit more open maps, with some interesting features. making an already defensive game mode in an already long game even more defensive can make matches take even longer, and sometimes you don't really have the time for that.
Hi there. I understand what you're saying. Thumbs up! There definitely needs the options to select the type of game wanted by players. Not just limited options to suit players. Some people like as you mentioned quick games... others like this 'turtle to hurdle' match. I'd love to see this game go alot further than where it is and I truly appreciate 'drongos' casting.

@@liamh7364 na man you have to give it a go when is the next time you are going to be in a game with players like that, wouldnt you want to at least try put up a fight you never know you might get lucky but at least you would get to say you fought them both, and drongo immortalized it now so if that was me i would regret not trying

Yeah no, the reg map pool should not be a thing for Nomad, the maps are fine for standard mode, but a disaster for nomad.
Playing FFA from the map pool doesn't feel as fun as MegaRandom on the largest map size. It's not the same feeling at all, there needs to be a Nomad MegaRandom only que, that's all you would ever see on custom games consistently. Give the community what it wants, we are so close!

Orange playing economy simulator
I've played this map in FFA, it's not the most fun to me, you can secure pretty easily your base. and even another base if nobody is there to begin with. Now the relics mini-game can be fun, but if your civ does not rely on relics (English, China, Malian, Otto, Rus, even French) for lategame, no point to fight over them (I think). So, all in all, not the best fan of that map. To me, water maps and mega-random maps are the best for FFA

Please devs Xbox control groups! The control group wheel should correspond with buttons on the controller please. Then when you go into battle you could push left trigger like you do now to cycle control groups but instead of cycling with right bumper, each control group would be able to be swapped to with the press of the corresponding button. Thank you!
