Chine Collé is such a beautiful process.
I think it's of advantage to add glue to the paper for chine collé before you put it on the plate. Because every time you press the paper down with your fingers, it picks up ink.
When using oil paints, the plate with the Chine-Collé paper on top can be placed in a tub of water so that the paper adheres to the plate. It is also easier to find the right place for the paper (snippets). This makes it even easier to apply the glue.

You can actually let the paste dry completely before putting it on the plate. It will adhere to the paper. I think it may only work if you have pre soaked the paper, which I always do. It makes it much less messy, and easier to handle. Trust me, it works!

I'm a lino print beginner. Do you need to dampen paper with Chine collé on lino? Also should I use my screw-down type hand press to bond the papers or continue with hand baren as I am doing?
