I've got all of these on my bar cart, except green river. I would add 4 roses single barrel, and Russell's Reserve single barrel. Henry McKenna 10, if you can find it.
If you think Old Forester 100 is little hot 🔥 for you then try Old Forrester 86 it's a little smoother/less hot but both OF 86 and OF 100 are two of my Favorites
Woodford Double Oaked is one of my favorites. So glad it's reasonably priced. WDO, and Widow Jane Decadence, are the only bottles on which I currently have backups. I don't want to be without them.
I'm in the UK so that selection of bourbon is somewhat limited and more expensive than the US. My daily drinker is Four Roses Yellow Label. It's cheap and it's good quality and it doesn't burn. I like higher proof bourbons but I can't drink them daily. I keep the stronger stuff for the weekends.
Great picks. Old Forwster 100 is a best kept secret these days. And thank you for preaching the truth about Buffalo trace, another bourbon that always has a place in my house.
Woodford double oaked is really good, but Buffalo Trace is right now my favorite, but it's allocated here in Alabama. I can drive about 25 minutes across the Fla line and get it at a secondary for $32. Something you didn't mention that I really like is 1792. It's flavor profile is a lot like BT, and it's available at the ABC for about $30. Thanks for the ideas!
Ty so much. After a third round of Buf Trace, I grabbed a bottle of Double Oak and OMG it's too damn good. It's the FRIDAY bourbon. Thank you for showing some bourbons that are not the typical Bulleit/knob lists and variants of! I am trying these all!
Well the Woodford Reserve sounds great, but Buffalo Trace has a strong sharp finish in my opinion so I’ll try the Old Forster 100 & the Woodford Reserve double.
I wish people would quit using the term smooth for bourbon. It’s not a nosing or tasting note. It’s how one person perceives the bourbon in their mind. Someone else may find a so called smooth bourbon to be harsh. I’ve been down that road before. As far as Buffalo Trace goes, the price here in Alaska is normally over $30 but not by a huge amount. Plus store picks are normally a little more. At one time Buffalo Trace was kind of scarce in Alaska as it was considered allocated.
You are right. “Smooth” is not a great term to use for describing whiskey. I do agree with this statement. Here’s the thing. “Smooth bourbon” or “smoothest bourbon” are some of the top searched terms in whiskey internet. To get the information to those people, we need to include those key words in the titles and descriptions of content. Otherwise, they will never see our videos and we can never help spread the word about some amazing brands/bottles. So, these terms will be included in some of our shows. I hope you understand! Not everyone is as far along in their bourbon/whiskey journey, and we would like to help them access the information more easily. Cheers!
No I don't agree with this statement everyone has their palate and yes most either love a certain bottle or they don't but removing a word because it doesn't fit your parameters isn't a reason to keep someone that doesn't have any verbal issues from expressing how they feel about describing what they are experiencing. I've seen others upset over juice well every master distiller uses the term juice get over it and enjoy it how you want.
@@ChemicalRobP I didn’t say people have to change, that’s up to them. I just think it’s a poor way to describe bourbon when a person is tasting it and I even gave my reason why. To each their own. I have my preference and you gave yours.

A spot on list. Green River Wheated Bourbon is damn good.
Would these make good mixing ?
Old Forester Prohibition Eta 1920, pretty good for under $100. 115 proof

Thanks Nick! I appreciate it! BT is quite tasty! Cheers! 🥃🤘🏼

you could leave the pic of the bourbon on screen a little longer, even leave on the entire time you are speaking about it.
Old Forester 1910 all day
Basil Hayden hands down.

@@umami0247 so please tell me what smooth taste and smells like? I would love to know.
@1095TA ahhhh the ol' I don't agree or like it so you should change it. Gotcha.

You spend 140 going on buying drinks and such. Might as well buy a good bottle
you will never drink buffalo trace in ny for $30.....its between 40-60
I’ll say to you the same thing I say to all my family members back home…
Get the heck out of that state. 😁🥃🤘🏼
Well I’ll give you my Buff trace I don’t like the spicy finish.
I'm in NY for $30 sometimes under Elijah Craig small batch all day if I wanna splurge EC Single Barrel, OF 1910, New Riff SB
Buffalo Trace in Florida is priced over $30 now. More like $34-39 if you can find it.

Everything you listed, except for the Woodford, is complete trash. 100 proof Old Forester is the worst tasting bottle they make.
You must be better at tasting whiskey than I am. Congrats!
