3+ left over is usually a mixture of resources & situational cards. You can't stop it happening sometimes with some heroes who have a lot of situational cards (Magneto) but if it happens often then deck redesign is in order. You should usually discard heavily if you do end up with a lot of left overs or the situation will not improve.
It could technically happen, but it shouldn't in most games. I played quite a bit of Magneto and I don't remember ever ending the turn with 3+ cards in hand
That's a great question! If I play a perfect defense deck, I usually have a lot of these events so I prefer to use them as resources during the turn rather than to keep them at hand since I know that I'll probably get another when I redraw. I rarely keep cards in hand for a chance that something happens during the Villain turn (like canceling a treachery for example), because I think that it's too inefficient to do so. To answer your question though, I would count those the same as other cards, no difference :)
Is it good to have Blade, Machine Man, Wonder Man, Warlock and/or resourceful to provide an end of tirn optionto use the wasted cards? Or am I adding another layer of overcomplication?
Hey! Having some kind of resource dump could always be good, but I wouldn't put it specifically in my deck just for the cause. If it naturally fits in (like playing an Avengers deck and putting in Avenger allies) then that's good, but otherwise I wouldn't bother

What about defensive cards for holding on to them? I.E backflip or shield block etc, how do those fit into normal counting?
