Literally one of the best characters in the expansion
1. They are not biologists
2. He saw through behaviour, not frog biology.
@@Alen725 You're right he's a Zoologist. Remember Sharlyan is basically what Oxford or Cambridge would be if they were their own countries. The Gleaners are essentially scientists in the field.
@@TheFireDen I know right? That line was brilliant and has completely cemented itself in my brain. And it just makes complete sense, of course a gleaner would be one of the people who would be able to see through the ruse immediately, who else would take one look at 3 frogs grouped together staring at him and think, "hey, that is very unusual. I don't think frogs normally do this."?
Well Y'shotla's first and biggest mistake was thinking frogs and toads are the same thing. That's like calling a walrus a seal.

The funniest thing about Estinein's horrible restraint with coin is that it either means he's only been given a small amount of coin at a time so he doesn't know what to do with a lot of it, or someone supervises him whenever he goes shopping. Either way Aymeric probably has something to do with it
Or he's so focused on being a dragoon that he never learned basic item value appraisal and probably doesn't even know what haggling is.
I honestly don't think he ever shopped for himself. He didn't even own a hairtie, I suspect everything he has ever owned was given to him by his father figure and then by the state when he became the azure dragoon. He probably hunted and gathered while in the wild, and ate military food in the city.
He mentions being poor growing up in a Cutscene so I can imagine having access to the Scion coffers is a real treat
Well, it's another thing Alphinaud and Estinien have in common. I do remember a small scene during Stormblood where Alphinaud was about to buy a sword for an extremely high price. XD

This is why I love FF14 so much. even though you're a hero who's slain gods, devils and everything in between, when it makes sense for your character to suffer, they suffer like anyone else. 10/10 story-telling.

The fact that he repeats himself AGAIN before Urianger falls is just perfection

He's a theater kid. The guy loves the drama and here he is trying to have a tragedy, while his star actor seems determined to make it a comedy!

This is canon BTW; they added a lamppost inspired by the low-poly grapes that has a description mentioning "blocky grapes" used for transport

My favorite parts of this expansion; Urainger being a dork, Alisae being a little shit, and Magnai getting denied because he has the personality of urine soaked sandpaper.
Urine-Soaked sandpaper? Not sure if that is a brand new sentence or a rare insult. Either way, I love it.

You've certainly already found them, but for anyone else curious, they're called Purple Carnation Earring. They come in a bunch of other colours too, my bunboy wears the rainbow version.
I clipped the magnai bit on my own playthrough but I messed it up and I only recorded myself laughing manically for 3 minutes and I've been wondering what even happened 🤣 so thank you for uploading this

I forgot I had wind-up G'raha out before the frog transformation, so that whole segment was just three suspiciously coordinated frogs chaperoned by a tiny catboy with a funny stick
