Btw, one thing most people miss. Imagine Hakoda's viewpoint. The Avatar himself, by the time master of three elements, supoosedly also master of the Avatar state comes to your camp and asks for the help of your son specifically. He didn't asked for nothing else. Dude is proud as fuck.
I love how unpredictable this season was. Everyone was expecting Aang to power up and save the day but nopppe Azula snipes him with lightning. And that Zuko twist as well. Masterpiece
Imagine coming home from school after you spent the whole day looking forward to this episode. Then it ends like that. Then you have to wait 9 months to find out what happened.
Yeah, Zuko's betrayal is painful, but still human of him. Dude has years of therapy for trauma and manipulation by his father, and the conditions were also far from ideal for him to think straight. Even with all these factors, it still hurts though.
My favorite season finale ever. Azula is one of my favorite characters ever and the scene where she kills Aang gives me chills every time. Crazy they could do that in a kid’s show! I love that she just decides to conquer Ba Sing Se pretty much as a side quest too. A 14 year old taking over the stronghold her country has been trying to conquer for 100 years and the only person she had to kill was Aang. Something even Iroh couldn’t accomplish with a 600 day siege. Such a well written villain. And ironically I think if Katara had used the water to heal Zuko’s scar I feel like he would have sided with them and not Azula. I think it’s pretty understandable why he did though. She basically handed everything he’d wanted for the last 3 years to him on a silver platter.
Imagine watching this as it aired in Dec 2006 and then having to wait over 9 months for the next season in September 2007. It was NOT a fun wait for our whole family. We all were so invested in the show. It brought us together and provided a lot of discussions about interpreting what had been and conjecture about what might be coming next.
When I watched avatar for the first time I didn't expect us to lose 😭 I really thought oh yea Aang goes into the avatr state and we beat Azula and everything is happy times and Zuko joins us lmao what a twist
Yeah, but you will know it’s a good story coz how slow it is, problem is still there. It seems slow but still so much going on, it’s not too rush like any finale.
Azula played the turn of Zuko perfectly by letting him choose. Zuko did try to change , but it's one things to let go of his hold obsession when it's out of reach, but when what he wanted for so long is presented to him on a silver platter, First real occasion he got after a streak of hardship, it's much harder not to relapse;
And it has real connotations, it's hard for someone to escape their abuser and they sometimes go back with promises of things to be better, it's really sad honestly, Zuko is a victim in this scenario still, because he falls back into old habits.
18:14 😂😂😂 And yes the sting of betrayal from Zuko! Nothing he and Azula wouldn’t do to get their father’s approval.. So glad you guys are loving this show so much!
Regarding the final chakra of letting go of earthly attachments, what the guru meant was you can "love" someone but you should not feel "possessive" about that person, because then your love would become toxic and poisonous. You should be prepared to let that person find their own path as well.
21:25 Sokka seems to only be uninterested because he's already with someone. She's his enemy, but he's not putting such things COMPLETELY outside of his thoughts.
I knew you guys would absolutely love these episodes... I know it's hard for you guys to imagine but the next season is even better than you guys can dream about. I can't wait🙌
@@Reactsandgames By the way, if you enjoy shows like this, I would like to recommend some anime. Series like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Attack on Titan, or Death Note are excellent choices to watch in English dub and have large fanbases to this day❤
Regarding the final Chakra Aang has to open. I think what Guru Pathik means when he says you have to let go is that you must not become obsessed with the idea of love or let it control your actions. Love should not tether you or hold you down but should set you free. You must be able to accept the the fact that someone might not love you back, or they might die or leave you and you can't let that ruin your energy. You have to accept it and be at peace with it.
I was also disappointed at Zuko's actions in this finale. Like, he really changed a lot in Book 2 and we even saw more of his "good" side. But in Book 3, you'll understand why he needed to be away from his uncle. That's his final challenge, to choose the right path on his own. And there'll be an unexpected reveal on why there is an internal battle of his personality.
I actually love the reaction when Zuko made his choice. "No hope for this one" "Theres still a bit of hope. Dont give in on him!" My man! I understand why he made the choice he did. Its also why Zukos character arc and redemption is one of the absolute best ever. Its so satisfying and heartwarming when he does finally come around. Also, notice! There is ONE character in the entire show that never once struggled aganst Azula, and it wasnt even the Avatar himself, but Katara!
im binge watching these reactions and its the most english woman quote ever to say "no, i am not talking about the bear i am talking about the king" haha as an english man im glad i am not the only one who went ohhh.... why did i try and blame the bear haha
I remember the first time I saw this season finale and I truly felt the most disappointing part (outside of Zuko, because he's an idiot, and Aang getting shot in the Avatar state)... was the Earth King spilling the beans to Azula about the eclipse, (serious there aren't enough negative superlatives to describe her, she's so well written and probably THE best antagonist of all time) but for that to happen, all the blood, sweat and tears from the previous episodes to get the eclipse plans to the Earth King simply given away! Enjoy season 3! I wont say anything, except... it only gets better!
1. Toph inventing metal bending literally leveled her up and improved earth bending even more. 2. Azula killing Aang during his power up was something no one ever expected to happen, bcs we all knew a lot of villains just watch and wait for the hero to power up. 3. Zuko's betrayal was too much, but it's understandable😢 4. Katara will always be there to save Aang as he tried to save everyone else (Avatar's job😅).
It is heartbreaking to see Zuko make some progress and then immediately revert back to old ways when Azula promises him his honor and Dad's love and acceptance. I liken it to an alcoholic or any addict, it's very common for someone in recovery to relapse and go back when things get tough.
Enjoyed your reactions (and frustrations) to these great episodes. Really loved this season ender (very Empire Strikes Back). Looking forward to book 3, which is my favorite season.
The release the Guru was speaking of was meant to make Aang think of himself as aside from humanity. If he is supposed to be the Avatar for balance and justice he can't remain beholding to Katara, Sokka, Toph, or any of the kingdoms. If he managed to beat the Fire Lord Aang would still need to treat the people of the fire nation fairly. If later the Water Tribes tried to take over, despite loving Katara, Aang would still have to chastise them like any other group. He has to be above it all in order to be objective and fair.
Very glad you enjoyed book 2. While I don’t like book 3 quite as much I’ll tell you the quality going forward stays pretty consistent. Buckle-in for the final season!
