Hey everyone. I forgot to mention that the sails are made from just a $0.49 sheet of patterned card stock that I got at my local crafts store. Thanks for watching!
Wow, this video was VERY well done. Now I’m excited to start on my own ship! Thanks so much for putting this together. Q - Are you planning to do terrain videos again at some point in the future? Thanks
in my campaign the party finally got onto a ship so i brought up maybe making a ship model to play and this video is just what i needed! this channel is so cool
Great video. If you can take away one thing from a video it is a total win. I am stealing your idea with the beads. I am currently thinking what to do about my railings on my ship build, and now I have a path forward! Off to the dollar store tomorrow, thank you!
I know this video is old, but I’m so happy I found it! I am starting a campaign with some friends who have never played before. I haven’t DM’d since I was in middle school (a good decade ago 😅) and I’m looking forward to getting back into it and making a magical experience for my pals :) it’s a pirate campaign so this guy is gonna get a lot of use!
I saw and actually got to go on board a replica of Christopher Columbus's ship the Nina, and the ropes on it were two color. The supports holding up the mast and rigging were soaked in pitch and thus were black. The rigging that actually operated the sails and any thing that was to move was made of Manila Hemp. If you have jute cord, it's the same color.
I especially like the way you make the rope. Very good! Also, many people are making things then making them look old and scuffed up, and there is a place for that and I found it kind of cool for a while. I have since grown a bit weary of the "beat up look." So I am glad you did not do that to your ship. Your ship looks somewhat realistic without looking grungy. Very neat and tidy like a ship should be. I like it. I think this is more like something I would make. Great job!
I've seen jewelry loops used for door handles before but they always used a small bead as the attachment point. Your paper method looks so much better to me. I will definitely be adding it to my crafting arsenal.
It can also be done using some green stuff. I've learnt to prepare some handle with the excess of green stuff that I tend to prepare each time I use it : - a small square with a punch hole at each corner - prepare a cylinder of green stuff - shape the cylinder into a circle - place the circle on the square - prepare a small rectangle - position the rectangle around the top of the circle (using a toothpick)
Your channel is quickly becoming my favorite crafting channel. Your crafts are spot on, you seem really humble, and you get right to crafting without an overlong intro talk. Keep up the good work, and I hope you have luck finding work again.
I'm going to have to build one of these for my players! I tried 3D printing a boat, but it was just too big and clunky. It wasn't very fun to have on the table lol
Hoping to get back to it soon. Unfortunately I am not finding time between working and running a business. Most of my build videos take 40+ hours to produce. I do have something in the works but it may be a complete change… thanks

This is really cool! Can't wait to do this for a SpellJammer campaign I'm running. Thank you!

Great job, dude!
Removable sails, amazing Idea. Your reasons were super smart

Super cool !!! Thanks a lot from France!! Hahaha!!!
An impressive build
I really appreciate the fact how you kept your mistakes and changes in to show how easy they are to fix/patch over seamlessly

Nice job!
Really good! Maybe a sepia wash on the sails, so they can look less "new"
Good idea!
coffee works well too.
@@WildmanotheSouth tea too!
this is awesome. I'm just getting into the whole dnd hobby thing and there's a kracken that is begging to have a boat like that to fight
I am totally doing this, thank you for the inspiration!!@
Your. Ship looks real nice .
Awesome job!
This build is genius. Never thought about using pins like that before! Thanks so much!
Were you get the rivets

Great video. Boats are usually fun to build.
Gogogo!!! Loving the content man!!
Great build! Best of luck with the crafts, and I hope things turn around for you job-wise! Looking forward to your future projects!
Outstanding build. Simple but with enough detail that any player would love to play with it. Keep up the great work.
This is epic. I'm totally inspired to build one myself now. Thanks for sharing your journey. Cheers, --Bo
Outstanding! The detachable sails are a great feature

Top notch creator, please keep making these videos! Breaks down tips and makes not just game pieces but true art
Great build. Love the simplicity of the deck and the removable sails
great project
Amazing!
Great build! You should consider making a printable template of the boat with a "pay what you want" option! Would love to support your work :)
Nice. Could have put windows on the stern, so the captain's cabi could have some light
I'm going to have to build one of these for my players! I tried 3D printing a boat, but it was just too big and clunky. It wasn't very fun to have on the table lol
Awesome build again! I wonder if future ships might include a figurehead and windows for captain’s cabin?
Hi great job! What material do you have used ? it is not XPS Foam
It is XPS it’s just the Dow brand and it comes in blue!
Did the kids donate that wheel or "donate" that wheel? lol. Nice build!
Sorry, new to the scene, but what is name of the pinkish foam?
Nvm I found out it was foam core
Fun fact: Ships used to be built with deck prisms before electricity.
Can someone tell me the name of the material that the ship is made of pls
Miss the content my dude. I hope you are doing well
Hoping to get back to it soon. Unfortunately I am not finding time between working and running a business. Most of my build videos take 40+ hours to produce. I do have something in the works but it may be a complete change… thanks
What type of foam did you use?
Owens Corning Foamular
@@ScatterCraft thanks 😊
Are the sails made out of card stock? I tried using fabric but have a hard time getting a billowing shape.
Yeah they were a crosshatch pattern card stock sheet I got at Michael's Craft for about $0.49. Thanks!
awesome video, I love making terrain and I make a lot. Do you have a facebook page that I could follow or a discord channel?
We do have a Facebook. The link is on on the channel art or just search scatter craft. Thanks!
no windows?
Little boat
FYI, "bowsprit" is pronounced like "bow spree".
I like your videos but why are they dark?
Inner goth child
Do your children know that they "donated" the Lego ships wheel, or will they find out when they can't finish their own boat model ?
Ha ha they know. My son is always bringing me things that he wants me to use in builds
Great content but soooo many cuts my dude. Calm down.
Nice job!
