I hope they answer the letter... I was saving money for so long so I could buy the dron for my work, when I bought it one year later it just stop working with the controller... what a waste of 1000 bucks...
There is a resolution but you have to send it off to France. There is a guy/company there that bought up GoPros repair equipment to do such fixes. The issues is the NAN chip they used that only allows so many flashes. This guy replaces them. Also he can do other repairs as well. I have mentioned his email in one of my videos.
I think we need some electrical/software engineers to take a look and see if it's gopro's latest firmware bricking these devices. My drone was in storage for months from the last time I used it and when I took it out it was inoperable. I mistakenly updated the software first and it doesn't pair anymore.
That was the problem, keeping the drone for a long time without action. The drone is designed to operate frequently. The whole failure was due to the fact that the drone was rarely used. They need to be turned on at least once a month to work. And so the microcircuit, flash memory breaks down. If you change it, the drone will connect and fly again.
March 6th - went to take the drone out for the first time in a few months and experiencing this SAME problem. First the controller did not detect the drone so I unpaired to the drone. Now when I try to pair the controller to the drone, the drone just keeps flashing all of its lights rapidly (not the normal blue light green/red pairing flashing)

Hi Gavin, my GoPro Karma has had the exact same issue since early 2021. I was asked to do an update and after that I can no longer get a connection between the drone and the controller. Thank you for your action.

Thank you so much for leading this dispute with GoPro. I was intending to purchase another GoPro camera, but have now changed my mind due to worries about future reliability with software updates.
So i bough this Karma when is was first released used for like a good solid 9 months, and put it away because of school and other works. Literally brought this out for the first time ever because i need to get some drone footage for a project and now this happen!

Did they not issue a recall for this drone already.. i heard something about a recall being issued out to customers.. Maybe research and see if you can find something..
I have been in contact with support. The first sent me a new harness. Didn’t work. Then they sent a new stabilizer. Didn’t work. Then they sent a new core! I just received it after a month of waiting. DIDNT WORK! same issue I started with. Stabilizer stays limp upon startup and karma will not pair with controller. They are now sending me a new battery and if that doesn’t work they are sending me a new controller. At that point everything will be brand new. They still don’t know or are not admitting what the issue is. I’m running 2.7 on a hero 5 black. Stabilizer / grip and controller are all updated to latest version. I might buy a 7 to see if that will work as I’ve read people have fixed issue by simply using a different camera. I’ve also read new battery has worked for some. I’ll add that I’m a GoPro plus member and I have not had to pay for any of these replacements. But the issue is still not fixed. I’m almost at the point of giving up. My grip still works but I can’t fly
We gonna make them pay or at least recognize it and get all of the drones to the ground. We can collect money and persuit a lawer. I think we can collect a lot among the 550. I'm inn!

I was free yesterday and I when to the Best Buy store near and I spend time talking to customer about not buying any Gopro camera because they will have a problem like the one we are getting now, I think the best way to get this problem fix is hit their profits and write reviews until Go pro go out the business .

Same thing with mine, actually first time i've tried the drone in over a year as it's not "legal" in Canada as GoPro didn't bother filing the necessary paperwork with the Canadian Govt. Just a big paperweight! Horrible service!
Hey don’t forget about me we went to California to fly the drone for a video and the pairing happened there I think that is the issue they go probably need to address quickly there are a lot of consumers of this product out there depends on GoPro I just bought two more cameras from GoPro if they do not acknowledge us as consumers I will not buy another product from them ever, And I would never endorse the product I will tell people that is a bad product thank you and hopefully we will get some response from these guys peace.
Gavin, I I think we’re gonna have to get a lawyer involved and frankly if you start a crowdfunding website for it I will contribute $100 so we are able to get a lawyer to write a letter or start a class action lawsuit. This is BS and I really hate how they’re bullying you around by not even letting the issue be known that’s unacceptable the cover-up is always worse than the original issue. To add insult to injury I just bought two new batteries off of the go pro website unbelievable they’re selling accessories and replacement parts for a product that they basically disabled with a software update. Looks like GoPro is more interested in deleting posts on their forum instead of working with customers on fixing the issue. Yesterday someone had posted a link to the survey, post has been removed. What a shady company. I hope people who are maybe researching GoPro because they are interested in some of their products, see these videos and see just how much GoPro backs up their products (they don't). I'm still so angry that these Karma's cost around $1000, and I got maybe 10 or flights out of the darn thing before it just mysteriously stopped working.
That was me!!! Since they already blocked me once, I joined the forum from a new IP address with a new email address and login. I posted a link to this youtube video about a day ago and its already gone!! Obviously they are aware of this effort as they are actively seeing and deleting posts about this problem without making any public statement about it. What I dont understand is that the forum is still live and there are still 100 comments discussing this. GoPro isnt removing the entire thread - only the posts that point people here. They dont care enough to respond to 100s of people asking whats going on...they just dont want those people unifying and signing their name. Screw you GoPro. Well have 1000 names before you know it even with your efforts to block us from your forum. This makes me more interested in legal action if they don't respond to this letter with an A+ effort to remedy this situation. So frustrating. What a shady and irresponsible company.
From what I've seen regarding interaction rates on social media I believe thousands are having this problem and since I also believe there's only several thousand Karma drones it's basically fleetwide and an inevitability. tl;dr ALL Karma drones made have this defect if the numbers reported are compared.
I saw a video from someone, he paired with controller without Karma Grip in the drone, then put in Karma grip and the camera did respond after. He did not demonstrate a flight but should have. Not an excuse to let GoPro off hook. They are screwing Fusion owners, and even GoPro 9 buyers in much the same way.
Ive seen this too and it didnt work for me. If the harness was the issue gopro could easily be off the hook by selling the harness for $50 to all the drone owners. The issue is deeper than that
Just purchased a new battery and it hasn't paired since with the drone. So gutted goodluck man with the battle at least someone gives a sh#t about the rest of us.

An alternate approach would be to start buying advertising time targeting GoPro camera customers pointing out the facts on their TERRIBLE support!

What is wrong with my Gopro Karma w Hero5 Black? The GPS, Compass calibration and the Controller/ Drone pairing was an issue.
