I've seen a lot of these unseen pitches and I am seeing a pattern here. These pitches are much better and seems more professional than what we've seen on TV. They are more like Shark Tank US style, straight business talk, no emotional drama. Hope they don't skip pitches like this in Season 2

indian tv shows are full of drama so to compete with them they do this and i think they should have avoided all those absurd bussinesses and added these type of pitches in next season as they already have enough audience this time. There is even an urban nap company pitch which was good.

Thus 7 p/e and 0.5 p/s for a D2C company is low valuation. Anupam wanted a big pie at discount. Good decision by ARTMENT to not negogiate...

Although I like Anupam but I am highly impressed with this Artment guy, he is hell focused in terms of business and priorities.

What is debt what is equity
@@shockedone6472 Debt is loan, you will not give company's shares and use the money to improve your business. Once you are profitable, you will repay the loan (with interest) using the profits.
When you give equity to investor, it means that they own that much of your company and if your business fails, you don't have to give them anything back. The reason why sharks invest is if they think you are capable to increase your company's valuation and hence improve the value of the equity. They can now re-sell that equity to the founders and get more money back. This is called return of investment.

Some people over here are saying, that the 68 cr valuation is correct as their sales were 20 crores but there's a huge difference between sales and earnings. Their earnings were 1 Cr and their valuation was 68 cr which is a PE of 68 and not a PE of 4.

Sharks do predatory offers. When they see they can't predate, they back off. Reasonable valuations never get closed here. Sharks always win, pitchers always lose (except when they come to lose for other reasons)

For a buisnees that makes such money , 68 cr is not a BiIG value. Offer was non negotiable , then when they declined it why he said to counter? A buisness that makes around 18 cr per year 68cr is a decent valuation. at 7cr valuation , it would be stupidity to accept and they chose it.

So you need a warchest that is why they are raising, for the same reason they are not taking debt. with India business set giving 1 cr profit, why would they want to shake that up with debt. Also they are just giving out 5% equity.

What all these so called sharks are looking for is a company which can be sold off in the next 2-3 years for 10x. Mostly they don't care about profit (coz most of their companies are VC funding ran, and not profitable as such). 68 cr. valuation was quite reasonable actually, given their scale and profitability.
Anupam wanted to value them at 0.5 times sales. It would be stupid for anyone to take that offer. It's better for physical goods business owners to run one with bootstrapped money. The phsyche of this panel would want them to run in losses and increase revenues, just to make a quick buck for themselves .
