    Thanks so much for sharing your process with us. It is so inspiring and full of helpful information for nouvelle artists like me. I can’t find the right words to describe how much I like to see how you design your paintings, taking decisions on what shapes group in big masses, what areas to obscure, the needed level of detail in each part… pure gold. THANK YOU Tom.

    Thank you so much for letting me peek over your shoulder and watch you a master of watercolour! I also appreciate that you tell us the colours you are using....I'm wanting to get some new paint colours. Who you please consider doing a few lots of tree videos. That is such a challenge. Thank you again 😊

    Excellent tutorial as always. Each time I retain a little more and you’ve really helped me to change the way I approach my painting. It’s such a pleasure to listen to your narrative too.

    I just spent two hours watching you paint and draw and I'm sorry that it's over. Thank you! I'm learning a lot. I've been drawing for about 12 years, but took up painting in March. I love that your process is so measured and thoughtful. Many watercolorists seem to paint in a very energetic fashion that I do not want to emulate. It looks stressful! You have a calm, considered process and it gives me hope that I will be able to learn this without feeling like I have to panic my way through the painting.

      Thanks Ross. Glad you found it helpful. I have to admit, when I'm painting without an audience, I'm faster and more frantic a lot of the time . But for these videos, I'm trying to be as clear as I can be . And yes! Panic never helps! :)

    Thomas, your mini series based on the ancient mostly derelict monuments that were originally erected in and around the Forum in ancient Rome have been both individually and collectively excellent, as has your treatment of the subjects from a drawing and watercolour point of view. Thank you so much for your time and expertise.

    This series is truly inspiring work! Do you use a specific graphite hardness? After you've completed your pencil drawing, is there any light erasing to remove excess graphite or do you intend for the pencil to blend into your water and your colors or do they tend not to run together?
    Keep putting out amazing content!

    • @thomaswschaller
      @thomaswschaller  9 дней назад +1

      The pencil work ( HB or 4B) is part of my process and so part of the finished work . Some paintings which rely on a larger white area may need some light erasing after it dries - but not usually
