It is NOT for individual Nigerians to pay for Cyber Security.
It is Businesses, Corporations, Banks etc who bear the cost of cybersecurity.
The FG is even allocating 40% of this cybersecurity levy directly to the National Security Adviser's Office.
The Office of the NSA only reports to the President of the country and will NOT give any account for the funds received.
The cybersecurity levy will generate up to N3 Trillion Naira in the first year alone!
Can anyone name ANY civilised country in this world that has imposed a cybersecurity levy on its citizens?

Just like the Fuel subsidy removal that affected every living being in the county including those who have no car or Generators. They shop in the same markets including farmers who use little money to make a pot of soup before the fuel subsidy removal.

How many of their bills do they really make public b4 passing to law? When they fail for what there're paid for then they start searching for who to take blame.

It is because they don’t represent the people, but are a rubber stamp of the executive. All they needed to do was get their constituents feedback before their ascent to know it wouldn’t be a popular bill. I’ll take a proactive thoughtful president any day over a “listening” president who is bumbling and stumbling through governance.
This should continue to serve as a reminder to the masses, if you don’t let your voices be heard, these greedy “representatives” will steal, steal, steal. We have power in numbers.

Every country, including the "almighty" USA, has cyber security issues. They take care of that as part of their obligations to tax payers and the country at large. They did not come up with another tax or levies.
Every country on earth are fighting cyber crimes. But only Nigeria is paying cyber crime levies. Cyber crime is even low in Nigeria. It may be a bit frequent or common, but when you compare with developed countries in term of amount involved or magnitude, you will discover that we are still save.

Our political elite in Nigeria continue to show their lack of knowledge of the requirements for Nigeria to prosper. Senator Ndume feels the law doesn’t affect the common man. We seek foreign direct investment and globally, Africa is seen as over taxed making it unattractive to foreign industrial giants. Without these companies, how do you create the quality jobs that the citizens want?

If you can't stand the heat, don't go into the kitchen. The truth is always hard to swallow. Ndume just exposed his likes, whom would rather be pampered by weak journalists; that would allow them to get away with murder. Though he quickly recovered from him gaffe, but it was clear that his intention was to rubbish Rufai and Abati because those two refused to be cowered in his and likes presence. It's only in dictatorial democracy that a public officer dictates and moderates the parameters and modes of an interview done with an aim to exact accountability and transparency. I hope the likes of Rufai, Abati, Seun among others won't kowtow to this "cold water" tactics with an aim to hide the truth from the public. Well done Ojy, you stood your ground, Rufai, Abati and Ayo would be much proud of you.

What happened to Gbaja, Betta Edu, Hitech, buying SUVs and erecting edifices, when the citizens are dying and starving. Their focus should be on the welfare of Nigerians for now and not image of Nigeria. Their activities cause more harm than that of Yahoo boyz.

Don't celebrate yet, the key word is "suspended" which doesn't mean repealed. Until they repeal it, it might go the way of the electricity bill. It could come back as levy of certain amounts of transfers, such as 1 million thresholds or put back quietly.

I can count up to four policies that were introduced by this govt and got suspened or cancelled. Why can't a govt have a well thought out plan before coming public. It's now very obvious why this govt has not made any positive impact on Nigerians. Their cronies eating fat while poor Nigerians are going through pain. Sen Ndume can only decieve those that choses to listen to his story.
