I'm Italian and we usually are very purists when it comes to typical food. But this looks great and tasty. Yeah, probably it won't be the original pizza margherita, but we need to move on, be open and do experiments. The asparagus one looked delicious.
Have been going to this restaurant for 40 years and the pizza is just incredible! And just like she said sometimes you just got to have this pizza! Their pastas are wonderful too!
I have eaten the pizza at Al Forno many many times and in my humble opinion there is nothing in this country that tastes as great as this pizza. It is not replicatable as Zagat in their review
I don’t think that you’re going to ever be able to replicate this pizza. It is not simple by any stretch of the imagination. He cooks in less than two minutes but that’s the problem you gotta keep moving it. No one can make this pizza except Al Forno. Hundreds of restaurants in the US have tried to duplicate it and some have come somewhat close but no one can touch this pizza.
yeah...there's no way the top is getting done properly if the crust cooks in a minute or so...thus the very finely grated cheese. This idea has it's limitations for sure.
So George got ME curious and I found a little something about his disappearance. mobile.nytimes.com/2015/11/01/us/george-germon-founder-of-rhode-island-dining-gem-dies-at-70.html
Its trailblazing, its amazing, its so revolutionary but basically stoopid. For that matter I can cook a pizza on the sidewalks in Vegas or in a skillet or steam. Hell, how about cooking one in the broiler as the cooks wear a thong? Because damn, that's revolutionary.
Tom Riches so easy to anonymously call someone names without the possibility of facing consequences. Sure its good. Its fucking pizza. Sure people like it. The general public loooooves a gimmick. They loooooove being edgy and fresh. Trendy little robots trying to be the first to ride a wave. Change for the sake of change is just someone reinventing the wheel. Like the deconstruction fad that hopefully will just go away. But sure defend contrived cuisine.

I love her general vibe about cooking/life. Incredible woman and beautiful food!
00:36 - good question for Netherlands.
I live in Argentina and we've been doing grilled pizza for years. It's not something new or especial, but it is very delicious!
They have been doing this at their restaurant since 1980, so not new for them either.

After having this pizza I can confirm it is incredible. Best thing I have ever eaten. Extremely expensive tho
Great story! The pizza looks amazing.
Back at my high school football games, our snack bar used to bbq pizzas too. This was all the way back in 1991. Really good too!

I have eaten the pizza at Al Forno many many times and in my humble opinion there is nothing in this country that tastes as great as this pizza. It is not replicatable as Zagat in their review

One bite, everyone knows the rules.
“Revolution”
It works as long as your heat is above 400
lol el prez says they won’t cut it literally the first few seconds shows they can
She thinks no one else enjoys life as much as the Italians. I know so many cultures who enjoy life so much more, equally if not more.
Everyone is this comment section understands the restaurant has been around for 40 years right? Its not some new thing they're doing.
sometimes simplicity is complexity...yeah I'm done.
Hungry!
Always.
How do you melt the cheese without burning the dough? It's so thin.
you close the lid on the grill lol...
Pre cook.
Looks delicious 👅🍕
I just ate half a pizza an hour earlier and now I'm thinking bout that other half. Fuck you youtube
What's next? Sous vide pizza?
We sure hope so.
Fried cream cheese pizza with ranch infused crust & frosting dipping sauce. It's a big thing coming outta Italy right now
Nope. Raw ala sushi. 😂
....from frozen
I'm.all over this✌️💞💞💞
need a stone or something to reflect heat on top if you want to really cook the toppings
justice4germans the toppings are already cooked I guess, cheese won't get browned though, I do like a the crispy cheese on the crusts!
yeah...there's no way the top is getting done properly if the crust cooks in a minute or so...thus the very finely grated cheese. This idea has it's limitations for sure.
They should have a overhead grill to fry the cheese 10 seconds before serving
yeah you dont see any pepperoni etc for toppings.. because it wont work. REVOLUTIONARY
I know what I'm doing my next bbq
Beauuutiful story..I just gotta have a 🍕🍕🍕 my birthday 14th I get free pizza at Old Chicago YEEEAAH 👍 👏 that's great pizza
Anyone know what kind of herbs they sprinkle on top of the pizzas to finish them? (the long, stringy ones)
shaved scallions shaved the long way, very tasty.
Anybody else curious about George?
Sadly, George passed away a few years ago. I'd actually met George many years ago, he was a really great person.
I see what you did there
yeah it was actually really tragic the restaurant got robbed and he was shot i live near by and it was all over the news
So George got ME curious and I found a little something about his disappearance.
mobile.nytimes.com/2015/11/01/us/george-germon-founder-of-rhode-island-dining-gem-dies-at-70.html
That's not true at all.
I use to do this 10 years ago grilled pitza
Henk Jacobse Al Forno has been doing it since 1980.
im stoned as hell and I am trying not to eat my tv.
Thats not pizza, its not a pizza dough. Looks like a yummy flatbread tho!
apparently everything you can top is automaticly pizza
it's like cheese on toast
It’s not new for us. We call it Arayes really old and famous here in the Middle East
It's a pizza naan

I’ll take one of each, please!
That will be 75 bucks
They not cheap. They pretty much fine dinnering on gril bread.
It's a pita pizza...
Really dough
Why does the lady looks familiar?
Really dough ?
To me it looks like flamkuchen. A German style pizza. Still very good though
This is called flatbread, not pizza.
We braai pizza in South Africa
Hey that's a Naan not pizza
Where did she say she graduated from? Roosty? What is that? Now I'm curious...
R.I.S.D. = Rhode Island School of Design
She's not even making the margarita right.. green onion and not basil?
Grilled pizza sure beats deep dish pizza
I can't tell if I hate this lady or if what she is labelling a "pizza". Looks really good but it's grilled dough with toppings, not pizza.
Looks like fantastic flatbread. Not pizza though.
exactly...
Precisely what I was thinking. It's just a thin layer of bread with tomato sauce and cheese. That's definitely not a pizza!
Absolutely. I think all pizza could be called flatbread, but not all flatbread can be called pizza, which was entirely my point.
na dazz u have no point. That's a pizza
maybe when you open a successful restaurant she could watch a video about it and criticize you, but you won't so fuck off
How to kill the pizza!
this is neither pizza nor revolutionary
Didnt cut the pizza for Dave's one bite review. Hope someone gets fired
Yo I am from NY ,at least use a stone lol
Mark would not have it

It's a simple "Pizza al tegame"...
Nothing new under the sun.
No it's not
@@platinumdynamite yes, it is.
@@Kenar.E Isn't that a pan fried pizza?
That's just toast.. It's not pizza
Its just a Naan bread with cheese and toppings.😁
The dough for naan is different. So it is not naan bread...
So much damn oil..
Stop trying to be different jk
So much grease actually wtf is that
Its trailblazing, its amazing, its so revolutionary but basically stoopid. For that matter I can cook a pizza on the sidewalks in Vegas or in a skillet or steam. Hell, how about cooking one in the broiler as the cooks wear a thong? Because damn, that's revolutionary.
Yes but this one tastes great and people love it you dumb ass.

"sometimes simplicity IS complexity" ....bwahahaha....ok...whatever.
Only americans would invent "unique" methods, products, etc that have been around outside their narrow minded country for centuries
this is not margerita
yuck
when I see that store and the ppl there I have no more questions. hipster bs.
