    Many teachers teach us to tuck the chin in without clear explanation about the pelvic, back, sternum like Taro does. Taro teaches us to exercise with intelligence. He is the best teacher. Thank you Taro.

      Agreed. TBF one other video called it having a ‘proud’ chest or posture and that helps. For me Taro’s videos on whole have more info but easy to follow. I like to see it as cooperation by diff sources vs competition.

    Your channel helps me notably. When young I was strong and worked hard daily on the farm. My body did whatever I told it to do. Now, in my 60s, very painful knees have reduced mobility for months - I didn't realize HOW much until starting to do your exercises. I modify them as necessary for the current limits in range of motion. As time goes by, I notice improvements. You are completely responsible and I am grateful, very grateful to you.

    I've been doing chin tucks as well as stretching my head side to side and doing the armpit smelling stretch, and I just feel more and more tension like a band at the base of my neck extending into my shoulders, which I have learned is my upper trapezius. Now I know an alternative to the chin tuck. I also watched your 30 second release for tension. I will keep looking at more of your videos.

    I agree that pushing your head/neck back isn’t a good way to correct forward head. Personally, , this just causes more irritation and does nothing. Your exercises aren’t bad, but I don’t believe it will correct forward head posture without doing some sort of strengthening with your deep cervical flexors AND your serratus anterior, mid and lower traps. Even strengthening the levator which is most probably over stretched. I have been dealing with this on and off for years, for me, something is inhibiting me from strengthening those muscles I mentioned. I keep trying anything and everything b/c it’s putting alot of stress on my cervical spine. . It can be a vicious cycle. Thank you though for your input!

    Thanks much for this. My sternum and pelvis are positioned poorly even in my sleep. When I wake up in the night, I try to reposition. Going to take lots of retraining. Also, a while back I gently tried old school chin tucks and my neck locked for a few days!

    People are often citing computer work as a culprit for neck and shoulder tension, but I am ashamed to say that I have developed mine during summer break. I am a teacher. The only bad posture I can think of is a) sitting on a sofa tilted back with my head up straight to watch TV (plus I have cushions in lumbar area so I am even further tilted back) (ok, I know, I have to stop that right now) and b) my car's headrest is slightly tilted forward at its most upright position, also forcing my head forward and not allowing me to straighten my spine. This must be affecting loads of people because a) Netflix and chill and b) most headrests now are made with this tilt forward for safety.

The stuff I have seen so far of yours has been really immediately helpful, but if you have a video about the SCM specifically I have failed to find it, and mine is causing enough difficulty & pain that it makes it hard to work through other exercises. Hello Taro. Thank you for taking the time to make and share your videos. I’m wondering if there’s a specific video you would be able to link me re neck, specially goiter issues. In 2005, I had been in a MVA and over the years my spine has changed. I have followed up with specialists to confirm it’s not a thyroid issue, but that my muscles are so tight from my head/neck position that it’s spanning/putting pressure on my goiter. Best Regards, Skeye

    "Shoulders back chest out" was what people always said when I was a kid.
    People now have dreadful posture and girls plod along instead of walking in a feminine way.

    • @MrLadyGenevieve
      @MrLadyGenevieve 2 года назад

      Girls plod along? You mean women? Or better yet, people? I don't think women owe it to anyone to walk in a "feminine way." Women are not objects for your viewing pleasure. Is it important to walk with good posture, absolutely. But not just for women and not so they can walk in a feminine way. JFC.

    • @fryertuck6496
      @fryertuck6496 2 года назад

      @@MrLadyGenevieve I definitely meant girls/females/women.
      I definitely did not mean "people" because I was referring to the female gender.
      Now for you to get all butt hurt by that I am guessing you are overweight, have died hair and plod along like a prime bull.
      Triggered?
