    Eddy was some player, when he tried. I don’t believe he downed tools during Covid but he did lose that special something we all cherished. I am disappointed to see what has become of him now, but we don’t need him back at Celtic for anyone saying a move would be possible.

    • @CelticGoals
      @CelticGoals 9 дней назад +12

      The downed tools rhetoric always bugs me. He was the top scorer in the league
      The whole team struggled, barkas couldn't catch a cold and we kept rotating keepers, bain and conor hazard weren't much better
      Also, ever consider the mental side of we were literally in a pandemic, and he was trapped away from his family as a young foreign player.

    • @peter-n2r
      @peter-n2r 9 дней назад +5

      You got me thinking and it takes a lot to make me think pmsl. Anyway, do you think French Eddy would have attempted to dribble past whole teams, if fans were allowed in the stadium? As another great man once said, "Football is nothing without the fans",. We did not lose the league to The Rangers. We lost the league to Covid 19. Which caused fans to be band from the football terraces and the Celtic players played that season as if football was nothing. Proving Jock Stein's phrase to be correct!
      After all it was the strangest of seasons as Calum Davidsons Saint Johnston's football team won the double, and what an achievement for both Saint Johnston and Calum! But, Steven Gerrard gets manager of the year? No doubt in my mind we lost the league, due to fans being banned from football stadiums because of Covid 19. Holly hotdog, The Rangers FANS and PUNDITS were coming out with PHRASES like it will take 3 YEARS for Celtic to lay a GLOVE on the Rangers? PMSL! Fans allowed back into the stadiums and we are champions again. Yeah Covid 19 f*cked us that season.

    • @aidan2453
      @aidan2453 6 дней назад +1

      @peter-n2revery other club dealt with the pandemic that season too, they just beat you that year it may be hard to accept but denying it won't change anything.

    • @peter-n2r
      @peter-n2r 5 дней назад

      @@aidan2453 Can you explain why The Rangers crumbled after pundits and The Rangers so called newly found dominance crumbled the following, season. After bragging verbally on all media platforms that it would take Celtic at least 3 years to catch up with The Rangers newly found dominance?
      After all The Rangers were now in pole position? Celtic having less than a handful of players at there disposal due to players leaving the club. As well as Celtic having to fill the vacant managers position? That was filled with a manager who had no European football experience and when signed everyone laughed.
      Which resulted in The Rangers now changing there new found dominance reign to last 10 years? Due to Celtic signing a manager with no European expertise who had inherited a football team with very limited players at his disposal.
      Saint Johnston went from cup double winners to relegation, contenders? The Rangers went from treble contender to the pretends and picked up only 1 piece of silverware out of a possible 3, the following season? The slowly lagging Celtic won the double and the treble the following season?
      So, can you explain how a perdition of The Rangers going to have a period of 10 years dominance. After all the stars were aligned in there favour. and Celtic did not have a team and were looking for a manager. But The Rangers only picked up the Scottish Cup the following season? 10 years of so called dominance, gone in one season? Saint Johnston eventually ends up relegated after winning the cup double the previous season and what about the Foxes in the English premiership what happened, there?
      The only thing that changed was the world found a corona virus vaccination and fans were allowed back into the stadiums. Everything else did not change? So, how dose a club who have been predicted to have a 10 years dominance run in the SPFL end up runners up in the title race winners? Who, were predicted to be 10 years behind The Rangers? What happened to this prediction? Again the only things that changed was a vaccination was found for Covid 19 and fans were allowed back into the stadiums.

    Martin Luther King once said, "I have a dream". Footballers to have dreams but unfortunately most fall short and that dream becomes, the nightmare.
    In the beginning footballers play for the love of the game. Then dream of being the best player in the league, top goal scorer, fans favourite and then the big dream of representing your Country in the biggest tournament in the world, the World Cup ! Then they get an agent and it all falls to shit! As agents sell the football players the false dream of wages, wags, cars , designer clothing and big houses to replace those sold out childhood dreams?
    When they say a football players head has been turned? Translation meaning he has sold his dream, too the highest bidder.
    Except for Henrik Larsson! The one and only true professional in the modern footballing world. A true legend and the real King of Kings. Every young professional should tap into Henrik Larsson's career. The man who never sold his soul but lived the dream. It is a true fairy tail story with a happy ending, it's the dream that came true! Henrik there is not a man on this planet who deserves it more than you do. A true inspiration to the professional footballing world is Henrik Larsson! HH

    As a Palace fan it saddens me seeing his fall-off. I still remember his debut brace vs Spurs and thought we’d really signed a proven goal scorer. He wasn’t bad for us, but could’ve been so much better. Last season though he got 7 goals and stepped up in some really big games. Seems a bit harsh to ship him on loan to Leicester especially when Nketiah has done nothing for us so far except 1 league cup goal.
    Edouard’s technically gifted with his dribbling ability but he is a player who thrives on confidence. When things aren’t going his way he doesn’t have that drive to turn it around. If he had that, I think he’d still be with Palace.

    Such a lazy footballer, it’s an easy statement to make but I’ve never seen a player lack such an ambition to run in all my life.

    Alot of mediocre strikers look good in the spl. Example, guidetti, dembele..
    Only striker that looked good outside of it, was henrik larsson who was world class!

    The Prem is too much off the ball running, some excel but most fail. He needs a League where he can have the ball at his feet rather than running into space

    Stop hyping these players that play for Celtic. Mickey Mouse could play for them and score 60 goals a season in that crap league. The only legit class player they have EVER had is Henrik Larsson.

    Anyone could flourish in that jock pub league, now he’s playing against proper defenders, it’s no surprise he’s struggled.

    Scotland?
    A promising young player, not quite good enough for France, is sent to Scotland...
    Where would you believe it, against the 'quality' defenses in Scotland, he scores bags of goals in Scotland.
    Then he's sold to England where it is actually difficult because of the very, very high standards and suddenly he's not so good...
    Really - what a shocker.

      There have been plenty of players who've made it in the premier league after coming from Scotland. The problem with Edouard is that he had the talent but not the mentality to make it at a higher level.
