Just picked up one of these for when I'm doing conferences with my GH5S as a wide-angle. Getting about 3 hours between batteries as opposed to the 1 hour or so when using the XLR adapter. As always, you guys are on the money when it comes to products and this one is no exception. Cheers for recommending it - you've literally saved me from hours and hours of panic during upcoming shoots!
@@TheFilmLook yeah I bet! I think I have 7 or 8 of them for my two Sony cams (luckily kept organized by some 3D printed cases 😁) and I still constantly have the cameras plugged in to those little phone charger battery packs.
Have you ever tried using the ucbc to power the camera? I tried it on my A7IV and the npf battery died much quicker for some reason. Not sure why I’m trying to see if it lasts longer with the dummy battery than the usbc. If anyone has insight please let me know
We were still using our DIY version of the Power Junkie when we powered the Pocket 4k, but the system works exactly the same. So it should work just fine! ruclips.net/video/q5bH1runF-U/видео.html
The specs are very similar, so it's worth looking at the details/tech specs between them and comparing the price difference. I know the A7s II is a bit cheaper these days, but the A7 III has that dual ISO which people are saying is really great. We've used the A7s mark I for a few years, really putting it under a lot of stress. Both are great, but just check to see if the specs of the A7 III are worth the extra 600 quid. If it was me, I'd rather get the a7s II and buy another lens with the cash saved.
Yah good idea. Skip the huge v-plate and get this instead. Then it’s interchangeable with other brands. Power my Panasonic gh5 and my shinobi one battery
@@eszesfilms1651 I could see how a v-mount would be a better application on a BMPCC 4K or 6k, once you kit it out as a cinema rig. I’m using it with my gh5 for now so it should be good to go. Running a v-mount for a plain Jane gh5 with a atomos Shinobi and a dummy battery for the gh5 should do the job. I’m planning on getting the np-f 750 since the recharge rate is much faster
The Film Look Ahh okay thank you. I ask only cause my Sony A7S got busted after I used a dummy battery with it. Perhaps it was the plate or something (I only say that cause they were cheap). The batteries themselves were 7.4 volts. I’m interested in trying the dummy battery route on my A7Sii but I’m a bit nervous.

@@TheFilmLook I owe you guys a pint when I'm next up your way!
We will happily accept!
Great review!
Thanks!
Hi there - I hope you are doing well. Do you mind advising me on what accessory you used around 1:54 to connect the battery to the small rig cage?
Not sure on the name, but search for Hot Shoe adapter and you should be able to find it.
This was so good! Just picked up a A73 might need to look into this! Really great :)
I've herd the A73 has a much better battery than the A7s mark 1. How much battery life do you get out of it?
Awesome! Been thinking about getting one of these to offset those effing horrible FW batteries.
Do it! I had to use the FW batteries whilst shooting this video and I went through to many of them, it made it difficult to shoot.

@@DroiMedia The 3D printed cases for those batteries are great.
Does the 2.5mm output in between the usb mounts output 12v? I wanna use this for my BMPCC4K but it needs 12v for the dc cable to the camera!
Great power solution! Thanks for this video!
It's so simple, but it works so well.

Can you do Power Junkies > the power-in for the BMPCC4K?

Would you recommend the a7s II or the newer Sony a7 iii?

@@TheFilmLook Very true :D
Can you use the usb-c port to charge the camera instead of using the dummy battery? Is it power delivery?
The USB-C is only for charging when the battery is attached, but there are 2 USB 3 ports which deliver power.
That looks interesting :-)
Den är jättebra! det finns en skandinavisk distributör. Se på powerjunkie.se - ev är den sidan inte helt klar.
@@gone4good tusen takk! :-)

I've been trying to charge my batteries using this thing but they wont charge at all.
Sounds like you might have a defective power junkie. I would contact the manufacturer for a replacement.
I wonder how much for life id get out of my Nikon EnEl14 batteries...
i wish power junkie provide 2 dc out put...
It's not ideal but you can get a splitter......

What do I have to do so that the battery does not fry my camera?
We've used dummy batteries on a bunch of cameras and we've never had an issue. The voltage change is minimum.

Hey guys - its "made of carbon fibre for near indestructible performance" and weights 37 grams.
Ok, take my money...PLEASE!!
If you could just send over your bank details, we will. Haha.
My Power Junkie doesn't charge my batteries... I've left them overnight and no charge at all.
for 5usd made in china adapter to expensive price
