Girl I made a whole fb group chat on this coat called the infamous chunky cardigan. You did that and we got a lot in common boy mom locs and crochet. Subbing and the inspiration girl selling them for $200+
Thank you for this. A pic of the inspiration was sent to me and I was just gonna figure it out. I used the same yarn from Hobby to make my back panel. I came on here ro look at another video and yours popped up. I have not seen it all yet but judging by the thumbnail, i know it will be what I was looking for.
Thank you so much for this 😭 When I say you posted right on time! I’ve been looking for a method I could follow along to to make this. Literally had the same colorblock cardigan picture saved that you did lol. New sub!
some notes from a knitter: unlike sewing most of knitting is done from the right side. so the seaming you did is usually done butting the two pieces together on the right side and stitching up instead of having two pieces on top of each other with the right sides facing. and you saw the challenge when cast on the sleeve on the wrong side. you got the stitch backwards. good for catching that. smart to knit the sleeves on for seamless look. but the benefit of making a sweater in pieces is that the cast on and cast off edges provide extra structure for the sweater. i love a seamless sweater but this project I think can benefit from the structure the extra seaming will provide.
I’ve been searching for a pattern for this because I saw the same picture because I have the yarn but I couldn’t and can’t find it or pictures of the back
looks amazing on you! how many packs of yarn did you use? I wanted oversized but not as oversized or as long as yours. What do you suggest? also if the arm length is 14 inches how many loops would that be? thank you so much for your help
I bought the ones at Hobby lobby have 28 yards of them I use like 17 , it was way too big. I did it again with like 13 and that was cool. Depending on your size, I would look at getting 300 to 350 yards for a maxi length
@ hey thank you for your response. I managed to get the yarn I started off with 20 loops & then somehow I’ve added an extra 25 loops to the back part. I am way too far to undo it all. 😢 do you think this may affect the outcome of the cardigan in a massive way?
@@SewingWithTAE thank you! I’m sorry I should have stated my questions differently 😂How did you determine how many loops to start with for the back panel?
Hi! The width will depend on how many rows you do . so more is wider less narrower. The amount of yarn you will use will depend on which one you buy. I bought the super rolls and I used about five. The smaller ones like Hobby lobby I use like 10
Ok so I would like to have seen the front side finished because Im trying to figure out how both sides of the front were connected before it split off, where is that part of the jacket going to be. i believe you cut the video to short right before the casting. I didn't see the front piece or how it looks in one piece.. other than that good video i learned to knit in two seconds lol very east
Yayy someone finally dropped a tutorial on this cardigan I’ve been searching for one.

I didnt use a pattern. Just created 3 rectangles. If you go the link for my blog maybe thats more helpful.

@@Mara.Isabelle i think youre okay, as long as you didnt lose any. Youre good
I love this!😍😍 Do you have any recommendations on how many to start with for a size small ?
I am not sure. I would buy 2-3… decide how wide you want it to be and how long. Then start knitting and then measure how far you got with just 1 skein
@@SewingWithTAE thank you! I’m sorry I should have stated my questions differently 😂How did you determine how many loops to start with for the back panel?
@@niyah7742 I cant say how many loops. I just measure it. So If your hip is 20" your back width would be 10". I would make loops until it measured 10"
@@SewingWithTAEgotcha! Thanks love ❤️
This was sooooo helpful!!! Thank you!

Hiiii I’m new here so I just wanted to know what do you do to make the sleeves wide or not so wide? Also how do I determine how much yarn I will need?

Hi! Thanks for the feedback, I did a second video that I hope is clearer. And I also type it out on the blog of website. Hopefully those are helpful.
Listen to the ancestors when they told you to go to Joann’s. the bernat blanket extra big is twice the yardage so it would have been cheaper over all.
Yes Learned that the hard way.
I was going to type the same comment. 😊
How many panels did you use
For this one I used too many! I used 14 from hobby lobby. This ended up being massive. I would def go down to 7-8
You def should turn it backward and pull it over your head, (the TikTok hack) may give it a chunky short vibe! Love it!!!
Ohh do you have a link to TikTok. I am unclear.
Where would you suggest buying that yarn? I am new to knitting. Thank you.
Here is a link but its also at joanns, michaels and hobby lobby. amzn.to/48Q83qB
Honestly, I learned a little bit from this video because I wanna make a cardigan. But overall, I was confused on the techniique part.
I redid it. Hopefully this is slightly easier to follow.
