Me: no kit but occasional access to my mate's Pearl kit with a mix of K and A custom cymbals.......I is of the poor 😂😂

Dear Lando, just have fun with it - you did it - starting drums is surely a while back for me but still I remember my first kit - and it didn't have any hi-hat at the beginning. After 40 years of playing I still love it. You will too.. keep drumming!! Awesome!

The book that helped me when i was starting was called 1001 differnet drum beats. Might be worth a look and also grade books because they have audio tracks to help you get the beat down

That’s a Pearl masters series kit (6 piece) with Zildjian A cymbals including a 2nd crash cymbal. He must of had a lot in the bank to get that as his first kit. BIG UP LANDO.

important note: maybe search on yt all different stick grips and try them out. look where you are most comfortable with. now you play more with your arms than with your wrist. if you use your wrist thing are getting more easy
nah, i think matched is fine for his skill level. learning traditional would be kinda overkill
