Drawer controllers were a godsend for getting through this chapter for me. I don't remember Dejojo ever saying he didn't want to use them, so I'm not sure if he knows about them or not.
Mechanical arms can get those soul beads out no problem. Even if you have to chain arm--> depot, arm--> more than once, its proabbly the easiest solution for tight spaces

If you want to automate that void stuff (throw it into the void and it rises as a new material, don’t remember what it’s called) break a LOT of bedrock, and make a black hole looking thing on the outside to decorate it!
Or… set a diamond block on fire and open a portal to the end to put a train line back and forth to the overworld. I just made a contraption to toss the chromatic compound into the void and collect it because I wanted to see if I could do it… so I have a portal I made I never use.

i think this time trying to make this machine compact is working against you bro, just scale up your work area and separate the processes so you can route the items easier between them dude, you can still make it look pretty that way.🤔🙂

Instead of flying around, use Ars Nouveau portals, they take a bit of source to open, but then remain open permanently.
You can use sound muffler to muffle the sounds it's a button close to your head in inventory so you dont mute all sounds from hostile mobs
