When I was a child my mother had a frog canister set in our kitchen. At one point, my parents sold that particular house and my mother got rid of the canister set. Fast forward 40 years, I find the same exact set at a GW on the opposite side of the country. Of course I had to buy it. I immediately called my mom to tell her about my find and she says, “oh yeah, I remember that set, one of the lids had broken”. As soon as she said that, I ran to double check my new found purchase and sure enough, to my amazement one of the lids had been glued together!
Hi my name is kate but I use my husband's account lol, I have only just found you on RUclips and I have a lot to catch up on, I love your cottage and the way you live,I too love finding little treasures, I live in england and we have charity shops and car boot sales, the little bee hive houses you found are so cute, my granny had some and it's salt and pepper, the one with the little spoon is for mustard (in my home good old english mustard, lovely and hot lol) you had some lovely things, I too am love a teacup and saucer, I am so happy I found you, kate from england. 🤗🌷🌼🐝
So your violet mugs are Takahashi from Japan, I think maybe around the 1970s these were popular. I had a similar one that broke, I purchased it at a shop that carried them, in the late 1970s, I think, in Sausalito, California. And your violet teacup and saucer.... I have the exact one I inherited from my mother. She had bought it in the 1950s in Victoria, British Columbia. It holds a lot of memories and we are making new ones, my daughters and I, when we have tea parties! I have a small collection of my own as well as others I inherited from my mother. And love, love, love little Thumper!
I have a lovely, recently renovated cottage in northern Indiana just south of the lake. It was built in 1905 and has a large 1/3 of an acre yard all fenced. I am very grateful for it, as it's mine and paid for, but I am always humbled by your videos and appreciate my home even more. Thanks for valuing the 'free' things in life and your slower pace of living
Cute haul..I’m a lover of all things vintage and antique ..after 1945 US customs required the Japanese mark “made in Japan” until 1951 and the Thumper figurine is roughly about 28.00 sold on eBay this year :) the white pitcher with the blue flowers was made by Inarco Japan it come with a small bowl that would go underneath..I’m in love with those books ..I really love collecting vintage/antique books they just look so great used to decorate in ur home ..I have a huge huge collection especially when I find them for 2.00 or less at a thrift store ❤️ thank you for sharing all ur beautiful treasures
You now on a candle wick trimmer ! It's an antique!I have one because I love antiques! Display with a candle ! Nice find my favorite ! Also love your old books !!
I love browsing through old used bookstores and flea markets just looking for that special treasure. I searched for ten years trying to find a particular book that I wanted and finally found it at a flea market.
As a maximal minimalist, I really enjoy your appreciation for the things you love. I have a tiny house that I try to decorate with carefully curated things I love! 💙
@@itsacharminglife It's so hard to not collect all the little things! I do go through them over time to make space. The main thing that messes me up is my love for Halloween! I have to utilize all the space. I'm so jealous of your location and graveyard! I live in southeastern NC and the fall season just isn't the same...
All of the items you found are so lovely! I love old vintage books and dishes and I love Beatrix Potter books I have the whole set of her books that was my husband's as a kid and now we read them to our kids!
What wonderful treasures you found!! I LOVE Thumper! 🐇 He's the perfect addition to your Cozy Cottage! 💖. Your rustic violet mugs were from about 1973, I bought some items that were from the same collection at that time🌿🌷🌿 I had the mugs plus some tiny flower pots & saucers for my kitchen window, the collection many different kinds of flowers 🌿🌸🌻🌸🌿💕
Lovely finds, the curtains are wonderful. For such a tiny space you two have a really nice way of filling it. I vote yes for going thrifting with you sometime, I really love seeing what's out there in other areas of the country.

Thrifting is just the best. Good job finding an ivy-pattern sheet. That pattern is just not stylish now, so I had to shop all over to find my ivy-pattern bedspread. I finally found one on Etsy - not quite so fun as a thrift-store bargain.
I’m excited to share that I just scored a couple of garage sale finds. I’m especially excited about a solid brass deer figurine I got for a dollar and a sweet small pitcher from Italy that I talked a woman down to 2 dollars!
One of my favorite finds is Japanese items made that say on bottom made in Occupied Japan and these are not great or special (painting or items very ordinary) but they tell a story to me. I am an avid journaler and use many Japanese stationary items and found an interest in made in Japan items. New to your channel and I would say my style is cottage/farm style. Thanks for sharing love all the videos (been binge watching to catch up). My favorite things would be small figurines (birds) and I collect Wade figurines from the Red Rose tea and linens.
I'd love to see a thrift with me video. Such sweet finds you've shared... and have inspired me to go visit some thrift stores. Great video... thank you for all of the work that you do to bring us great quality videos.

So charming, so cozy, you guys always make me smile :)
Aww we're so glad ✨
One of my favorite finds is Japanese items made that say on bottom made in Occupied Japan and these are not great or special (painting or items very ordinary) but they tell a story to me. I am an avid journaler and use many Japanese stationary items and found an interest in made in Japan items. New to your channel and I would say my style is cottage/farm style. Thanks for sharing love all the videos (been binge watching to catch up). My favorite things would be small figurines (birds) and I collect Wade figurines from the Red Rose tea and linens.
Oh that's so interesting!
I'd love to see a thrift with me video. Such sweet finds you've shared... and have inspired me to go visit some thrift stores. Great video... thank you for all of the work that you do to bring us great quality videos.
Hope you find something good at a thrift store soon ✨
