I was there about 5 years ago. Smelled like piss and after being harassed over and over by a homeless guy I ended up showing my gun. Rest of the day was very smooth. Its a shame Seattle has let this gem turn into a shithole. I dont go there now

Grew up in Seattle and been to the market many times. It was always exciting to go. My sister came for a visit three years ago. She's been in NM for 20 years. She was first taken aback by the tents and filth. The market was almost packed tho. We rode the elevator up with out of town tourists. There is absolutely no way this is normal tourist activity in July. Doesn't matter if it's rainy. That place should have loads of people. With that said, covid-19 is hijacking the tourist industry. However.... There should be more people in the market. Seattle is getting a lot of negative press. Rightfully so in reality.

I was a west Seattle resident and visited the market 1986 through 2001. Changes look good. Love the seafood. Have a painting on a shirt I bought. Ordered some seafood in the mail on dry ice recently. Saw a man get stabbed by another homeless man once . Survived. Out front across the street when my mom visited. Other than that though it was cool. Love the clam chowder at Ivars and the places in Pike place. Thanks Leo

I'm up in the U district and I've never once felt scared to walk around town (except Belltown at night, but that's a given) and ride the buses despite being a fem-bodied person going out on his own. The restaurant was not clean, the food was bland and blah, the bathroom stunk and they got rid od coke and went to pepsi and pepsico has been putting fetal tissue in their drinks.
