Talat Aziz is a good ghazal singer -- he was launched by the great Jagjit Singh . Every artist has his own range & style . We should not go into comparison . Lovely voice -- could have easily walked into bollywood as a singing actor . Which was not be . 💚👍

@@drpankajgoswami8322 I think it is more about what lies between the ears, not the ears itself. This is a ghazal and can be rendered as well in a non-filmi flavour. This was rendered by Lataji as best as can be in a film, and this does not mean that Talatji had not done a good job. However, I understand these are matters of personal choice and perception and not everybody nowadays is well equipped to handle these.
Raja Majumdar why you limited Lata Mangeshkar great singing in words like filmi or non film .....non film way never mean that you can fold the great composition in your own easy way......with harmonium ....sorry for me....he made a mistake......by touching this classic of madanmohan ...and distorted it ......for you he..might...be right......

In ghazal the presentation matters and you have the latitude to deviate from the composition. I strictly believe Lataji to be nth time greater singer than Talatji. In the whole history of Indian film music you will find many famous ghazals being presented in different ways by different music directors. Go through them, and you will know. Even Tagore songs are being sung differently nowadays. Music is dynamic. Go through Mirza Ghalib rendition by Lataji, Talat Mehmood ji and Jagjit Singh ji - I think you will understand what I say.

This is unbelievable, simply unbelievable... I have been listening to Talat bhai since 1979 and always rated him as one of the top singers of our country. But this presentation of such a unique composition of Madan Mohan Saab rendered by Lata Mageshkarji , leaves a lot to be desired... He ought not to have attempted it in the first place if he wasn't sure of the lyrical content.... He ought not to have even uploaded this song
