What shall be done if a diver get seizure due to high O2? Bring to the surface with a risk of lung expansion due to langyrospasm or wait for the seizure to stop?

Thanks for the question Hakan. The immediate challenge is protecting the airway underwater to avoid drowning or provoking lyryngospasm. Most seizures dissipate due to them using up the excess oxygen. If in any way possible, it would be best to keep the diver under until breathing normally. If this is simply not possible, waiting for the clinic phase of the seizure may be the only option to avoid running the risk of lung injury. Either way, the diver does need medical attention which should include Chest X-rays. Thanks again for the question.
