Once upon a time, a long, long time ago, there was a fun, fun, FUN light tank at tier 9 called T49. Then a Wargaming came along with a new release downgrading high explosive and some laughable buffs to compensate for this in return. I parked T49 in the garage and ended up selling the tank because right now it's 90% frustration and only 10% fun playing with this tank.
Long time ago it was tier 8, it was even more fun. 😊

Yeah, except I didn't just park it, I parked the frigging game altogether, HE was the one thing that made the constant power creep tolerable, because if you where good, you could still do 30-150 damage to those hull down monsters with 250 alpha guns if you knew how to peek and where to shoot (roof, hull roof or side, under the tank, a couple other spots)... With that change though, you can't do absolutely anything to hull down monsters, do the games became even faster, it took all the skill of HE use out of the game, made grinding stock tanks where you could do at least some damage with HE all that more insufferable, and finally, not only buffed the already op hull down stuff, but NERFED cardboard tanks further because tracks, mantlets, guns and other screens no longer stop HE, so if before you could occasionally tank an HE hit with the gun or a half of it via tracks and screens on your CDC or tier 7 1mm armor scorpion, now you just take full damage basically all the time. Really loved t49, back when it was a tier 8 even more, also VK which they now gave back but it's not nearly the same...

I remember back in the day, KV2 and the OI were feared machines on the field, ive played the game since 2013 thanks to my dad, he played and i liked the game, i played it super much back in 2014-2017, than i kinda slowed down but still played it often, than i stopped a lot, but i yearly came back, same with last year, i came back in december, and i loaded a tier 8 game, i was absolutly shocked when i saw a tank with nitro boost, my dad came to me and said, its crazy how to game changed, i still play wot, but the old days of these huge guns i wont forget

That third game is almost every game for me, regardless of the tank. You just have to shrug and grab another drink until it stops hurting.
Yep, although this doesn't happen to me every game its so much more common when I play light tanks compared to other classes. If you team doesn't like the way you play as a light tank they push you out of your position. I had a feeling this would happen because I've seen this situation so many times

I've noticed that i have lowrolls majority of the time.
Meta changed and HE nerf hit it very hard.
Maps are changed to the point that you can't find spot to punish enemies in the side if they're not carefull... Maps dumbed down so apes can drive to hulldown safely.
Before HE nerf i was consistently above 3rd mark all the time, playing with derp only. After HE nerf - tank became unplayable, lowrolls and shots eaten by guns and mantlets happens all the time.
I useto love this tank with derp untill they changed how HE shells work :( even my fv215b 183 has gone crap -Wingchun- out😊
Man, that third game was a STINKER. Thank you for showing us both of the good and the bad, it is very important for players to see.

Do you have the T58 Heavy by any chance? I'm struggling getting the right spot for it. It's armor is bad for a heavy, it's pretty big but I really like it's gun. It feels like a td with a clip gun with a bad mobility/armor compromise
I have the CVS on my T49. I get into a position where I can spot through the bushes and when the opportunity arises I smack someone and run like hell! TAG...YOU'RE IT!
the same. 90% I use full spot setup, coz even full gun-handling setup doesn't work on this tank. I'd even say that this is almost like T-100 - you have better chance to hit your shots on the move than after perfect aim.
Its not the same after the he rework. Just a pale shadow of what it used to be
Yep, could do like 400 damage to mouse frontally if you lobbed it just right on the Lowe turret so it splashes the engine deck, even with fire! Lower alpha guns too, I'd do 40-90 damage to it even from 250 alpha gun HE on a good hit! Then all the unicums cried about it 'being dumb' (instead of using anti HE equipment that cuts the damage BY 60+%! which is how I rolled on heavies, but not due to HE from other tanks but from artillery), AKA getting in the way of completely dominating in their hull down monsters, and being the biggest payers, wg listened, and so the already 4-5 minute games now turned into 3~ minute games instead... Good thing I quit, I see the games in videos nowadays and can't help but laugh at how absurd it got

Your team really f'ed you in that last game, forcing you into that sniper role and back on your heels from the very start. The two heavies and medium sat in the middle indecisive forever with nothing to shoot at. You made excellent points about the tank. I've yet to play it, so I'm grateful for the heads up, Skill.

I've always had a special place in my heart for the T49 with the derp. I 3 marked this tank with the derp. Those couple tanks that you mentioned aren't the best when you get behind them, the BEST is when you get behind a T95 and shove a big ole 950 up his arse. T95 is absolute paper in the rear, Tortoise also has a very weak plate in the rear.
Those games I have while playing t110e4.. I have a feeling that some tanks just treat you like a shit by default🤣

At tier 8 it was a tier 10, so not really a proper comparison... Still,was very fun to me both on tier 8 and 9, until they fked HE and I just quit, made the game trash, just unicum stat padder heaven now

Skiiiiill this t49 is for fun not grinding damage for me I turn my right eye to the left and left eye to the right than tounge out of mouth tap w and run for low armored vehicles (french) until I send them to garage

When I want to DERP in a light*once a week) I take out the tier 6 VK and BLAT them in the face and then ram to finish .....lol
they can really afford to buff this gun by quite alot since the HE nerfs, it just doesnt work in any capacity anymore, but WG hates fun so they never will

This needs more penetration, I like interesting tanks that stand out.
honestly i can live with the bad penetration if it just reloaded faster and had better gun handling, it being more consistent would do worlds for it in a game where everybody has autoloaders that make your high alpha pointless anyway
to me seems like the kv2 derp hits 5x more shots,,, bias?
I found t49 really cant do light Tank spotting.. reloads limit your defence.. Derp gun is a goober.. You have too drive the bullets home..
I meet skill on Live Oaks with my 13-90 Thursday at around 23:15 Berlin time. I go straight for bridge from north spawn and he OUTSPOTTED me !! HOW ? WHY ?

It used to be really fun when HE pen was more consistent
I dunno if it still works like that but if you hit them in the lower part of the turret with HE, it will splash into the upper deck dealing more damage.
the HE changes killed that technique, now you only hit where you hit, HE rounds are just AP rounds now that suck and do gradually less damage the more armor they dont pen
No, no longer works like that... Which is why I quit, HE was a fun mechanic and the only thing keeping hull down monsters at bay and me playing the game... So I quit

Can't HIT a damn thing, even at point blank, and if I DO hit my target, no damage! Give me the French AMX 13-57 over a derp gun any day. I'd rather shred with a laser that can PEN a half dozen times in a row.

Wargaming really RUINED the T49 and Sheridan's Derps with their HE NERF....
It constantly "bounces" now, and often does FAR LESS damage. Yes, against no armored tanks you can still hit the right spot and do high damage, but the "consistency" of play is MUCH WORSE and harder to achieve now. Wargaming is disappointing in every way... They nerf what doesn't need to be nerfed, and don't nerf what does in relation to HE and Derps, and of course in general otherwise.
If Wargaming want's to keep the HE NERFS, they should have BUFFED the Characteristics of the necessary tanks. Like, I would like to see a 1/3rd BLOOM Reduction for these tanks.
I cant take derp tank players seriously and probably never will.
The RNG in your third game is the norm for me with tanks with supposedly good guns. Welcome to my world.....

데미지 저렇게 안들어가..분명 프로그램 쓰는 것이다
골탄써도 잘해야 200 적게는 50들어간다
고폭탄 구축 뒤통수 때려야 500이상 빠지고 그나마 팅기면 데미지도 안들어간다

The 90mm was more fun for me honestly.
Disagree... Third marked in derp gun... Spot centric... Less time exposed for greater damage then pop up elsewhere... God like view range... Intuition a must... Turret locked zero bloom on the move... Also fun equals engagement 😂
